Extreme Hiking Grand Canyon South Kaibab Trail

So you can actually go back the S Kaibab Trail? I was trying to find out why it is difficult to go up that trail vs The Bright Angel Trail? Everyone seems to be starting at S Kaibab trail but no one comes back using it...

It's way steeper, plus there's really no shade and no water. It's a much riskier hike. :)
