  • We get a lot of questions about how hard it is to store our portable sailboats, including the XCAT Sail. There is an art to taking it down and putting it away so that it is easy to use next time and in this video we walkthrough the entire process.
To learn more about the XCAT please visit our site: redbeardsailin...
If you watch the whole video you will find a little nugget of parenting humor. Red Beard Sailing is a family owned company and sometimes we get interrupted, much like many of our customers do when they have their own boat on the beach with their family!
    Thank you for watching!

These are really great videos, thank you. I recently bought an X Cat and haven’t managed to dump the mainsail in sticky situations. Is that because I didn’t lower the boom first?
    Do you have any tips?
    Thanks!

Looking to getting one but concerned about the availability of parts if in need of replacement like the trampoline, rudder etc. individually. Are these maintenance items readily available from here or on the official Xcat site for future support? Thanks.

In the past 9 years, there have been very few replacement parts needed (perks of a boat that isn’t typically stored outdoors).
We generally stock replacement parts in the USA, if we don’t have them, they can usually be air freighted from Austria.
Sales are very strong, I don’t expect this brand to go away anytime soon.

Why you are not selling tiwals?

Tiwal sells directly into the USA, they are not interested in any dealers in the USA (aside from the one guy in Washington State).

Stowing the deck looks easy, but I'm watching from the view of a person in a wheelchair. That appeared to be the only clear obstruction.
