If you watched the replay after this, you could also see that derrick white went up and altered the shot. Jones missed it long initially (maybe on purpose, better help on the weak side that his own side so might as well put a little extra on it if the look isn't clean), but then the putback attempt was stopped by derrick white but also because two south sudanese guys both tried to go for it, ended up being stuffed by the rim. Then, edwards put a hand in (probably an uncalled foul) to stop the third attempt. But yeah you're right, edwards allowing his guy to push him out the way caused too much traffic

I love what I saw. I saw that basketball is not played in USA and Europe only (edited... sure Brasil deserves to be mentioned). It is fantastic that South Sudan is so good with non NBA players. Of course, team USA did not play as a team, but they will improve and be an unbeatable team at Olympics. Saying that as a supporter of Serbian team.

Anthony Edwards launching a terrible three-pointer when USA was up three tells me he really doesn’t understand situational basketball and that he is AT BEST the 7th option on this team.

Sudan played like there was no tomorrow. USA was sluggish. They didn’t match Sudans energy all game. Still the no calls on Derrick White & AD at the end gave Sudan opportunities to catch up and to their credit they did. USA needs to take everyone they play seriously or this will happen again.

This just isn’t like it was in the dream team days. Shayok was legit in college. Fringe NBA guy. Carlike Jones played at Louisville. Maluach is a projected top 10 pick next year. Wenyen Gabriel has played in the NBA. These aren’t just nobodies from South Sudan. These are legit good players who executed a game near perfectly.

Why didn't White pass the ball to Bron at 2:58? That would have been 9pt lead off a momentum statching dunk. Instead they get a turnover and a transition 3 and start their run (that was the turning point). Sports come down to little things like that so often. I'm glad the fellas pulled it out though.

I've watched all the team USA games this year so far. Very worrisome. In 2008 and 2012, Team USA was winning every game before the gold medal game by 20+ points. Kobe and coach K really helped set the tone for Team USA from FIBA Americas in 2007 onwards. Unfortunately, both talent and commitment by Team USA is lacking today.
Checked into the game with a 7 point lead. Didn’t score for 2 and a half minutes. Gave up 8 points. Yeah really great clutch layup by Bron but his defense almost cost them the game. Same reason the Lakers have been underperforming every year besides the bubble.
1st offensive play - Lebron gets Curry a Wide open 3 on a drive and kick. 1st defensive play - Lebron forces Wenyen Gabriel to take a bad shot.
