- My partner and i sailed our 37ft James Wharram Tangaroa catamaran from Port Lincoln in SA to Cactus. Sailed through and bunkered down for some horrible weather but also had some beautiful times sailing around the rugged coast and islands of the west coast.
I grew up in Port Lincoln and worked as a fisherman there for 25 years but now live on the Sunshine Coast. I recently bought a 31ft pahi and spend most of my time sailing around the islands of SE Queensland. The west coast of SA is back on my bucket list after watching this. So many great untouched gems down there. Hard going but worth it. Nice vids guys.
What a beautiful video ~ thanks folks from cold muddy England
Happened to stumble upon your video and subscribed. James, I thought you were Riley in s/v La Vagabonde. I thought it was a joke at first then I soon realized that you guys was for real. Cool vid.
Awesome. Wish I could live that life. Nothing to worry about except the weather!
Thanks for the nice video.
James Wharram catamarans are simply the best! So nice to see one in action.
Happy Sailing

Hey guys, great vid! Living the dream :) Me and my girlfriend spent the last 4 years (full-time) restoring a catamaran and are about to live on it. We are in Busselton, WA when you make it here we will have to go sailing. We are heading up the north cost in about march to exmouth and everywhere in between, hopefully see you out there! PS sweet little wharram!
+surfynic awesome!!! hows it going? we are crossing the bight in feb sometime, hopefully make it around your way (who knows can't make deadlines with sailing) but would love to catch you guys!
+Hannah Taylor Well we are finally aboard! and loving it :) was a lot of work (and still a lot to do) but totally worth it! Yep well we will be here trying to make up for 4 years of lost surf and diving time this summer before we head north so make sure you drop me a line when you do finally make it this way. Cant wait to see your next movie!
With the help of people like you guys, spending time to post awesome videos such as this it's making me sell up and do the same! No longer own 13 guitars, a flat, a fridge, a wardrobe, nor do I have to pay all those bills that have been like a wet muddy hole keeping me in that cycle! I just can't Sail atm lol safe journeys, subscribed!

Hi Hannah,
Great second video, you guys must be stoked to be getting ready to sail again!
I mentioned previously about Kalbarri and sailing around the area. We have since moved to Bunbury 2hrs south of Perth which offers a fantastic calm water anchorage with shops and supplies at close hand. Please let me know when your passing by as I would love to meet up and help you with transport should you need it (and of course offer you a sail on my trimaran)
Good winds and safe travels to you both

Just a little bit of info
I’m a Tahitian but grew up and studied in NZ, learning Maori language.
‘Tangaroa’ is pronounced, ‘tongue’ - ‘are’ - ‘raw’ (rolling the ‘r’) - ‘are’. Not ‘tang’ (as in ‘tangy’) or an emphasised ‘g’.
Looking forward to going through your vids
Inspiring

Please someone tell me the name of that glorious song at 5:30. It's has my heart fluttering and I can't seem to find it.
"Well they say that things change and I can tell you right now that forever, that forever, that forever doesn't count.
I've spent the whole night listening to you talk. We stood in the middle of the city pretending the road was our sidewalk and it felt I'd known you my whole life... well a little like the sunlight... A little like the sunlight.
Oh Well I hope the whole world saw the happiest moment of my life.
Well they say that things change and I can tell you right now that forever, that forever, that forever doesn't count."
It's our good friend 'nick Cunningham' you can download his Ep album on iTunes xo

Does the boat have a head on it?
At 9:05 Hannah is heard to say what sounds like " buy-ball-humid-it-chop" what does that mean?
How much did that catamaran cost? and also.. is it possible to live in something like that?

Do you wash your hair with salt water and normal soap or is there soap that works better with salt water?
We have minimal fresh water on the boat and use that sparingly, we don't wash our hair in salt water 😊
Are you guys, off again this summer?
+Justin Rice we are, in about 4 weeks time! woooo
Cool, I'm just doing some small shake down trips. And hope to get away soon too. Hope for 2 or more months. May be I'm see you guys out there.
Hoping for 2 or more months
more surf footage thanks
Silly question but how the hell did you afford to buy a Catamaran and sail it around Australia?
The cost of the boat is less than the cost of a land cruiser and at this stage we only been sailing South Australia! 😊
Hannah Taylor How do you afford food etc?
We do seasonal work 😊 we don't Sail all year round..
+darkmath100 No kids = much money. But I wouldn't change a thing with my kids, just do something like this in a few more years.
Tom LaRocque You said it. Kids do like to eat and have a warm place to sleep. I think someday I'll finally have enough to afford a boat but by that point I'll have totally lost interest in sailing. Sometimes I think God has a really sick sense of humor.
;-)
you guys talk and look EXACTLY like an older version of the la vagabond couple..
Interesting but bloody awful music perhaps it will get better!keep watching
looks amazing and so much fun and relaxation. wish i was there..!
how much it set yaz back?
