Being able to Prophesy does NOT make you a Prophet!
There is much error in the Church today around the office of Prophet and everyone’s ability to prophesy. Adorning yourself with a costume of some kind, or dying your hair or performing with a band and a smoke machine does not make you a Prophet.
Every born again, Spirit led believer can prophesy as Paul lays out in 1 Cor. 14:26 when he gives direction for orderly worship. The purpose of those prophecies is to edify, encourage and build up individual believers and the Body as a whole. Any believer under the unction of the Holy Spirit can truly prophecy and bring an inspired Word from the LORD. This does not make that person a Prophet after the order of Elijah or Moses or John the Baptist.
When was the last time one of these ‘Prophets’ had to cover their face to hide the Glory of God that was shining from them? For the most part they rely on some gimmick to make them appear to be set apart.
A Serious Warning To Those Claiming To Be Prophets

This is still in the Bible and the fact it is in the Old Testament does not mean it no longer applies.
Deut.18:20 But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die. Note: this does not say you shall kill that prophet, but that that prophet SHALL die. This did not change in the NT.
So when does a prophet become a prophetic your world I n mine it is when he speaks nothing but the word of God
