"i wish to take this box to my home to keep my belongings in it" The good brother Rana is going to keep the tradition alive in Pakistan. A part of me def expected them to open the tins and find a bunch of sewing supplies inside lol
My mother kept her sewing supplies in a fruit cake tin. My sister still has it
That's exactly what you would have found in my late mother's Royal Dansk tins - needles, threads, a pair of scissors, and bobbins. She had another tin filled with Minlon wool yarns. This was in the late 70s.
I don't think I've ever opened a tin and seen actual cookies inside.
I have a few in my garage with stuff in them. LOL
I laughed out loud when he said that.
Wait a minute...that tin had cookies in it! How many of us have been thoroughly disappointed by finding sewing supplies in that exact container at Grandma's house?!? 🤣🤣
Me 😩
It's such a delight to actually find cookies in them, lol
haha...thats what is in the Tin we have ......
It's nuts and bolts sensors and random plastic pins and harnesses for me since I do a lot of mechanic work .
😂😂😂
Rana is not wrong. Many a Royal Dansk tin is used for buttons, sewing supplies, and other small things. Many a kid has been disappointed thinking Granny bought cookies, only to see a handful of buttons and snaps!
Schrödinger's cookie tin. Is it cookies or is it sewing supplies? Open it up to find out.
Tahir, you are such a beautiful soul.
Even my French great-grandmother kept her sewing kit in the EXACT same box.
@@BIGBLOCK5022006LOL
Rana wanting to put things in the case is the most American thing he could've said
My mom used to keep her sewing stuff in those
Right?!!
I keep tea bags in one because it's fairly air tight.
I was thinking the same...I have many of those tins they are great little storage containers. My sewing stuff and button one I'd over 50 years old, lol.
Not just Americans we Aussies have those tins as well and my mother use to store her sewing stuff in those for decades.
Every culture and every people know the tin must be kept to store things.
They have instantly struck upon exactly what I have always done with Royal Dansk cookies: enjoy them with a hot beverage, dunk them, and keep the tin to hold small things in.
I do as well. I love these cookies.
Same here, we do the same.
Same. I'm staring at the tin I have in my bedroom right now.
Glad this is at the top
Exactly this 😄
I look forward to Gul Sher wiping his mustache lol gotta make a compilation of it, he makes sure there's no crumbs on the stache whatsoever
Yes me too, he does it so well.
A true gentleman.
It is a universal truth that no matter where you are in the world that once you finish the cookies you will likely use the box to store sewing supplies.
Just shows how much alike we all are....dunking biscuits in tea...🤩
They are actualy danish bisquits. I am from Denmark, and i remember these from my childhood. I am glad that you enjoy 🙂
I’m in Louisiana in USA and I still enjoy them, especially around Christmas. Sadly certain stores sell imitation versions made in China. They’re just not the same. Never buy the imitation. Stick with the original.
@@sailordave1000 Accept no substitutes! We found different brands at places like Burlington and Home Goods and they were just not as good, though there was one from Portugal that was slightly crisper that I enjoyed. Still, Royal Dansk is the best.
@@baronesselsavonfreytag-lor1134 simple elegant goodness. Like the light sweetness. Plus the tin can be used in so many ways such as sewing kits, gifting home baked sweets, or storing small items.
@@sailordave1000 Definitely useful for storing small bits. One year for Christmas I filled one with five bottles of my niece's favorite cologne that had just been discontinued and she thought it was cookies, I had to tell her to open it and it was one of the most memorable surprises ☺️
@@sailordave1000 how is the culture in the states regarding royal danish? are they still a trend? is it high end biquits? im also from denmark, i rember when my grandmother bought some for me when i was little
Rana totally gets it, effectively calling dibbs on the empty tin.
I thought it was funny when Rana said he wanted to take the tin container home to keep his things in. That's what a lot of us in the U.S. do as well!
They are actors. They live in L.A.
@@SilverGrizzly if you had watched enough of these, you wouldn't think that. Or maybe you're just an idiot troll.
These cookies are synonymous with Christmas time and family fun. Great memories associated with these cookies tin.
But then... I keep the box and fill it with junk such as screws, nuts and bolts in the garage. 😆
Crayons sewing supplies assorted junk a great tin for all uses
Got to keep the tradition going 🤣🤣🤣🤣
My mom had one with buttons, zippers and other sewing supplies and my dad had several filled with screws, bolts, washers, nails, etc… in the garage. He even went so far as to label them so that we knew which container had what was needed. I believe this to be true in the majority of US households. ❤😊
I wish I could sit down and visit these men in their country, have meals together and we could learn from each other how similar we all are!!! God bless them and their families.
These men have experienced more flavors from around the world than most have, I'm envious..
If gentlemen like yourselves would join the United Nations, the world would be in peace and harmony.
I really enjoyed this vid! These cookies are from Denmark and yes I use the tins for my sewing stuff
Danish butter biscuits are the best!
Same... Lol
Recycling at its finest
You are telling me there are actually cookies in these tins. WOW! Never seen anything but sewing equipment or random small objects!
Lol
Lol.. I've used the empty can to store coins.
🤣🤣🤣
ROFL!
Poor Joseph. Someone ate all those cookies without him.
Yay, something from my country😎
Desværre sendt fra USA lidt flovt., "Actually, I get a little embarrassed that someone from the US has sent a Danish specialty, and not one of us Danes.
None of us can throw away those beautiful tins. We just find things to put in them.
Royal Dansk cookies are delicious and while as an American I would love to say they were American but as the name implies - these cookies were invented and continue to be made in Denmark! Cheers them - theyre great!
Awww so sweet. Chaudhary almost asking permission to dunk.
The way you dip your cookies in tea, some of us dip them in coffee! Delicious combo!
I like the simple light sweetness of these cookies. They’re not heavy in sugar.
Oh no Tahir you didn't make the bell sound😥🤣
These are some of my favorite cookies. Often, you can only get them around Christmas. I'm glad the guys enjoyed them.
In my little town we only find them at Christmas. Some discount department store chains have other brands of butter cookies but they are not as good.
@@baronesselsavonfreytag-lor1134 If there is one thing Denmark knows, its baked goods.
@@scar445 Seems like a lovely place to visit, as well.
@@baronesselsavonfreytag-lor1134 it is, but please visit other places, besides Copenhagen. The culture gets so rich and calm once you hit the countryside
@@scar445 Good advice for traveling in general!
Those cookies are so popular in the US, and they've used that same basic tin for decades, that everyone has a story of how their mother kept her sewing supplies in it or it was used for all the household crayons when they were kids. I think sewing supplies was always the #1 post-cookie-use.
Those cookies are from Denmark and are known to be present at every occasion. Baked with love😊Also good to dip in coffee👍
I've lived all my 53 years in Denmark. I am from a very big family, and my parents had a lot of friends, meaning we were often out and about, in weekends.
I don't think I've ever seen or tasted these cookies.
I know my mom once had a tin cookie box, similar to the one in the video. Similar, as in same shape, but not colours. I don't remember the motive, other than it was colourful.
The first time ever, I heard about Royal Dansk, was on an American CZcams channel 6 months ago.
@@akyhne Hej.
I’m “frugal”. I’ll wait until after Christmas then buy them up on sale ! I always reuse the tins .
Rana and me, going after all the sugar topped pretzel shape first...
SAME! 😃
That's the only one I like too! 😁 My hubby gets the others..🙂
Having a sewing kit inside a royal dansk is a universal thing
I’m so happy these fab gentlemen got tea with their biscuits xx
As a Brit, it delights me to see these gentleman dunk the biscuits in their tea! We do the same. 😊
The good villagers: Traditionally we dunk our biscuits in our tea.
British people: We are villagers now 🤗
Great gift, Jasmine! Royal Dansk is the king of butter cookies. I grew up having them with tea at my parents' house. Now my Pakistani husband is crazy for Royal Dansk, we've tried other brands and it's the best.
These are my favorite cookies !!!!!! Any house in America that you enter it’s almost a 50/50 chance that it’ll have cookies or a sewing kit 😂
May God be with you as well Mr. Tahir
So, in Canada, the tin of these cookies are more famous than the actual cookie, because it always contains sewing stuff! Lol no one really remembers eating the cookies. They've just always had one of these tins full of sewing things. Usually at their Granny's, sometimes also at home. (It's a joke. You can find and buy the cookies. But it's true that the tin is a very good reusable container for all kinds of things. Why is it almost always sewing stuff? I don't know. Hahaha 😁)
I think it's a requirement to have these cookies with tea or coffee. They're really very boring on their own.
One for sewing stuf while other tins we fill them with cookies
Yes, sewing kit 😍 tin
Some people put sewing stuff in the tin to make visitors think they don't have anymore cookies so they can eat them all by themselves.
Just kidding. But they are a great container for sewing goods.
American here, it's not just a Canadian thing. Those tins often get used for sewing supplies here, too.
@CherryCherry Five
"They're really very boring on their own."
The blasphemy is strong with this one. See my original post for further details. But the short version is, you're wrong, they're delicious. And seeing them here, made me hungry for them. There must be something wrong with your tastebuds, if you find them to be boring. I thought canadians were supposed to be nice, guess everybody got fooled, lol. Mini-rant done.
Usually there is yarn and needles in it for sowing. ^^
Our grandmas did that...and our mothers.
My FAVORITE with milk!!!
And to use the tin for my sewing stuff!! Lol
Or bits and pieces... Lol
I love these cookies! 🥰. Gul Sher Khan is good at identifying ingredients.
Little do they know...grandmas across our nation turn them into sewing boxes
I'm so glad all these made it in decent shape!
I'm so lucky to be able to watch you all and share things with you and learn from you as well!
So nice of you to send this to them! Do you happen to have their shipping address (I think I would like to send them some gifts)?
@@FireCracker3240 you will need to send them an email to get the address. The email is usually listed on their page and in the description of the video.
@@FireCracker3240 they are super awesome people!
Those are my favorite store bought short bread cookies. Homemade are the best though. I don't save the tins like alot of people. Just make homemade cookies and put them in the tin for my grand babies. 🤗
A large cold glass of milk and that tin of cookies. Man I bet I could eat at least have of it in one sitting. I love those.
I love the way they dunk the biscuit in their tea. I’ve done that all my life, thought it was a very English habit. I save and use the tins as well.
Just last week- I gave my mailman a tin of these. He liked 'em.
When they are done eating the cookies, they can store their sewing supplies in the can!
I don't know what it is about these fellas. But I start beaming after watching them. ❤😂
Great video and I’m still so thrilled Tahir is back. I know he’s back a while now but he was sorely missed for a long time. Love them all.
and just like that i'm 8yrs old again dunking Dansk cookies in coffee with my grandpa. Thanks for the walk down memory lane
Tell them we dip our cookies in tea or coffee too! Love it they do too.
Growing up, these were always filled with sewing supplies but never cookies!
Rana gets it! Did you tell him that we are often excited to have cookies only to find the tin filled with sewing supplies?
One of my favorite cookies. And yes we use the tin for sewing supplies. Tahir, I am totally stealing the shunk-N-dunk! Love it!
I get these every Christmas since I was 15. Omg that's 50 years ago! 😳 all my family love to dunk and I do not. I think they have more coconut oil and less butter in them these days. But it's tradition! Enjoy!
Dunking, like grated coconut, divides friends and family. My husband dunks his biscuits and I never do, probably because dunkers leave crumbs in the bottom of the cup/glass which are unpleasant to scrape out when you wash dishes by hand.
@@annainspain5176 Very true. I do not like that mess in the bottom of the cup or glass. I had a glass burst on my hand while trying to clean the bottom. And required stitches.
That could be about the coconut oil but I've noticed that out of the two types of round biscuits, one of them has a subtle taste of coconut like it's intentional. Those are my favorite, actually. The others taste like straight up butter cookies.
So I suppose you build yourself a house out of all of the tins ? ;-)
Danish butter cookies are the best. I love drinking strawberry cream tea or peach tea with them. I love eating these at Christmas time too. I buy the containers with Christmas decorations on them just cause they're so pretty. My whole family loves these cookies.
idk if you've only had the tin ones, but let me tell you: These cookies are even better from the bakery or home made. If you ever come to Denmark go visit a good local bakery!
@@anse001 I've had them all and bakery fresh are always the best. I've had the tin ones a trillion times and they are not all the same. Some were knock offs and didn't taste good at all. But I agree, the bakery Danish butter cookies are unmatched.
@@IntheHazeX have you tried a danish kagemand for a birthday party? Kids absolutely love those here!
@@IntheHazeX you should definitely inquire if they make kagemand as it's not always advertised (typical danish style)
@@IntheHazeX my personal favorite is the one with a brunsviger as the cake. the vandbakkelse one is decent too though. it's all down to preference.
I love those cookies. I was so disappointed that we didn't receive any as a Christmas gift this year
We here in Australia also give them as gifts to family and friends. Usually at Christmas time. Always nice for afternoon tea with a cuppa, or some milk, or just on their own. Thanks Denmark for some yummy bikkies we can all share.
Chaunhury with the shocking gestures at 4:31 :O
Look up the Tim Tam SLAM! Here in Australia we have filled, chocolate coated, rectangular biscuits. We bite a small piece off opposite corners, then dip one bittern end in a hot drink, then suck up a little bit of warm drink from the other bitten end, then eat the biscuit. It turns the biscuit into warm mouse in your mouth. Heavenly!
Oh, my dear Rana... folks all over the world keep their trinkets in the Royal Dansk tin box after the cookies are gone 💖
It's a tradition - welcome to the club!
What if they opened these and found them filled with all the odds and ends that Americans typically store in the container?
We buy the cookies for the can. You can store your sewing needles and thread in it, or your daughter's hair bows. Have fun being creative with your can lol.
Literally every American stunned when there are actual cookies inside when they open the lid.
Oooh, a must have for every Christmas. My mother-in-law especially loves them. They are so buttery. Best dipped in tea or coffee. 😋
I love it! Those ARE good cookies. I would not doubt they ate their whole tin by end of day. I re-use the tins myself.
I was almost expecting to see a sewing kit inside 🤣
These biscuits are given to friends as gifts at Christmas where I live. And yes, I am always thankful to recieve them. One of the best biscuits around.
We reuse our tinsel for sewing kit extra buttons etc. I also have one for extra Christmas bulbs. We dunk ours too. Dunking is a must 🙏❤👍
My favorite biscuits to drink tea with!
These guys allways make me smile, they are so kind and humble, imagine a whole world of people this nice, that would be good
Never get tired of these guys !
I think that I may be the only person in existence that buys these regularly and never keeps the tin to store things in it! I did have a neighbor girl who came over once, told me that she knew what was in the tin, opened it up and was actually surprised that it contained biscuits!
Love these tribal gentlemen btw, it's calming to hear them speak and see their reactions to foods from around the globe ❤
Oooooo I love Dansk shortbreads! I'd like to see them try Nutter Butter Wafers! SO GOOD!
can we please get a shoutout to Denmark for manufacturing and selling the cookies??? They are from my tiny nation :)
Yes, I put my belongings in it too
We typically buy these at Christmas. So good with tea, coffee or plain, just like the gentlemen said.
Good to see they got something to drink, it makes every food better. I think we all have a few of these tins full of junk, they're great for such things lol
1. My favorite xmas cookies. Brings back great memories and I eat them every year and 2. Mr. Rana is on the right track. We definitely reuse the tin to keep stuff in. 🤣🤣🤣 How universal people truly are!
Mr Tahir, you have love from people that you deserve. I appreciate your wisdom and guidance. May Allah (peace be upon him) grant you good health and prosperity.
I love these men! 💜 They really take care to savor not just the food, but the packaging. It's a beautiful lesson for us in the US, to slow down, and enjoy the simple, but wonderful things in life.
Bless you all, and may you, and your families have good health, and prosperity. 🙏🏻💜☕🍪
These are one of my favorite cookies 😋
The cake that looks like a funny face is called a pretzel. In Danish " Kringle ", and looks like the signs that hang outside our bakeries in Denmark.
Please let them know we keep and reuse the tins too.....usually for sewing notions. We dunk too, but often in coffee
Woa, this brings back memories.
Nana used to eat these every afternoon after dinner.
I'm 38yo I ate these cookies when i was young. Beautiful memories with my siblings in France...
Wait until they discover these things go on sale for like 3 for 1 dollar after Christmas lol i always stock up
Hello from Denmark!🇩🇰🇩🇰🇩🇰
Glad you like our cookies!🥰
Love your show!!!👏🏻
And yes, they are very traditional Danish cookies🇩🇰 - Dansk means Danish in the Danish language😉
But we love your tin more
1:04 LoL we do this too! Almost every house in America has a cookie (aka biscuit) tin with buttons or other sewing kit items kept in them. I love to see the differences between cultures but even more so, the similarities. It truly is a small world. ❤😊
This makes me want some of those cookies so bad!! Lol
Christmas cookies and sewing kits-the gift that keeps on giving. I got three of these a few Christmases ago.
they do have a buttery taste....i like to eat these too,and with tea 🍵😊🎉
I can't think of a more traditional thing you could find in an American home. We all grew up eating them, and we all keep the tins for things like sewing supplies
Hey Gents, those tins are a staple for holding sewing kits and buttons when we're done with the cookies.😉💚
These are my fave cookies of all time 🤤🤤🤤
Wish my grandma could have seen this before she passed. Memories flooding back to me of grannies house for Christmas. She always had these out for us to grab as we pleased. The pretzel shaped one was always gone first 🤣
I have one of these tins with needles and thread in it as we speak!
My grandmother put sewing supplies in her box, then my mother and now me! Yes we all save our tins or at least most of us do!
when I see these cookies, my grandmother always comes to mind
These are my favorite cookies for the holidays!
I hate dunked, or soft cookies, but loves these guys
