I have seen pineapples on two different frescoes in Pompeii. AI says that's impossible because the Romans had no trade relations to South America, but the frescoes clearly depict pineapples on a plate along with other fruits and food. The only explanation is that the Romans must have been trading with South America at that point.

When I didn't have a lot of money, a local Indian cafe (here in Canada) had a lunch special with 2 aloo paratha and some raita for less than a fast food burger. He's right about how filling they are! I could eat both for lunch and not need dinner. Sometimes even had to save the second one for later because one was enough for lunch. My landlady now is Indian and she makes them for me sometimes because she knows I love them.

Imagine being so in love with a food that, upon tasting it, you praise God.

We in our opulence, are so jaded. We take for granted the simple pleasures that astound these basic guys. Makes me happy to see someone so happy for a simple pleasure. Personally, a pineapple malt is a dessert that just makes me happy.
