I’m glad he’s doing that with Eric. Some people don’t give others opportunities to get better or learn new skills sometimes they just wanna keep that guy where he is so they have a for sure guy for like free floating or finishing but it’s good to see Ryan be a actual good boss and give him the opportunity.

VERY VERY VERY few bosses do this it's really nice to see Ryan do that hopefully Eric doesn't take advantage of it use it to get himself established then leave Ryan high and dry I've seen it happen but maybe Ryan doesn't mind if he betters his life which is what most bosses say they want but really don't.

Been watching a few of your videos this week. You are how all bosses should inspire to be. You are good with your guys, you care about them. Don't seem to ever get visibly frustrated or mad ever when they mess up - and you are always teaching them. Hopefully they are taking all the knowledge you give them to heart for the future. I come from a broken family, no father figure, mom always working, plenty time on my hands since I was 14 and in need of guidance I ended up looking for it in the streets, I can’t help but wonder how life would’ve been with a solid male figure. You are a great dad Ryan!! Sometimes even when you’re tired after a long day of work/life, you MUST make time to play soccer outside with your kids!! Some of my favorite memories growing up were of similar situations with my dad! A lot of kids never have that and it’s sad! I hope your kids feel and understand the amount of love pouring out of you! If not now, being that they’re young, one day they will!

I think the cat is awesome. My family has a few and certainly had the cats and dogs over the years. Tough for naming a cat after concrete and I actually like Darryl Jr's suggestion but maybe something as simple as Star would fit.

I was given an old business lesson many years ago. You can have 2 of the 3 options. Price, quality, or service. Which 2 do you want? There are tradeoffs in each one. I always valued each of my vendors and their services and knew that with quality and service comes with a price. That being said I think my vendors respected that we both wanted value for those services. Hope this makes sense.

I think in true Victory style, you should name the cat after the boss - Darryl. In the UK, and I think a bit more so in Wales, Darryl is used as both a male and female name. You should go with that.

Tears in my eyes I graduated from high school and went to work in Berlin as a au pair in 1968 before the Wall came down in. My brother was stationed there in the army. Just a height of Vietnam. I just remembered Berlin. Living through John Kennedy's speech ich bin ein Berliner . Your kids should start counting wars. Their lifetime is going to see so many of them I lost count how many I've seen in 73 years. Keep that piece of all close to your heart because you never know when it can happen again. A man who passes business on to friends or employees is a sign of a person’s character. I would’ve suggested the fire pit that hangs of the back end of the slab, furthest away from the house because it’s safest and also leaves 95 percent of the patio for any kind of use but you’re the gentleman running the show and know what you’re doing.
Man it's so cool to see a man be such a good father these days, so many children are growing up without that very important piece in their life. More men need to watch your videos not to learn how to pour concrete but so they can learn how a real father acts.

I know I'm working many many years they were bosses that I did not even want to get up and go to work and then there were bosses that I waited years for an opening to come open so that I could go to work for them! My last job I finally found the boss and family owned business that I loved working for. Your employees are valuable. Bosses like you are few and far between. This is what's made America great. You were asking the gentleman at The Home Depot, why they lock up the spray paint. I work at a place called Bunnings here in Australia, and we lock up ours, cause kids were stealing the paint and sniffing it to get a high. Thankfully that doesn’t happen as much. Now it is to defer thieves from stealing.

I’ve been using Chapin pumps for over 15 years. Buying around 2 pumps a year. They were bullet proof. Up until the last two I purchased. Since they changed the logo I’ve had nothing but trouble. Both of them had bolts come undone inside the shaft. Something has definitely changed I’m not sure if they have gone over seas to cut costs or something but quality has dropped big time.
My suggestion for the cat name is Victoria. Another great video, love your channel!

I been a concrete finisher for a couple years and decided to open a tool shop. Not as easy as i thought it would be. Working 7 days a week and always thinking about the business makes it very stressful but we have grown many customers that motivate us to keep going to provide the best service.

I really enjoy watching your videos as they’ve given me a better understanding of the concrete business. I am the senior appraiser and Op Manager for a valuation services company that provides commercial, condo and hospitality properties in Florida and the US🎉 with a replacement cost of buildings and amenities for insurance purposes. Long story short, our valuation is what an insurance carrier uses to set values for an insurance policy for both wind and flood.
The insurance market here in Florida is absolutely ridiculous and will be worse now that hurricane Ian has had an effect on a portion of the state.
Anyhow, I thought I’d drop you a line to let you know how much I appreciate you taking the time to produce these videos. I work from home and I’m stuck in my office here at the house most of the time so I live vicariously through your videos. Lol
