Any of the SHO's are sleeperz. Or at least the first and last. I don't think they made the SHO's \hen the Taurus went all round and bubbly in the last 90's. I had a 1st gen that I bought at an auction a few years ago just to play around with, because it was beat up, but that thing rallied hard with that Yamaha engine and the 5 speed.
The Chevy SS was also a rebaged Holden Commodore SS, much like the GTO/Monaro case. Although we missed out on getting the HSV variant for both rebadged brands.
God I wish they sold the Ute's here in the US... A 6 speed Maloo is my dream ride. GM screwed up folding Holden and never bringing any of the other designs to America. Any of the VXR badged cars would have been sweet

I just sold mine this year. It was a great but of fun, especially in the Winters up here in Alaska. It's the only Mazda I ever owned, but I've been a Honda man.all my life, and the MS6 is the only non-Honda JDM (or any) car I've ever drove whose gearbox felt almost as solid as any Honda. Mine was pushing about 320hp, but I was having problems with the BNR Turb's seals burning out.. The S3 n S4 .i'm just not into turbo tuning as much as other people, but the Cobb Port was sweet & it was worth it for the few years I owned it just to learn about Turbos with. It for now, I'll stick with all motor VTEC, yo... Hah! N/A All Day!
Lexus ISF is a true sleeper, with barely any noticeable difference between the normal ISF, except when put side-by-side, like the raised bonnet (to accommodate the 5litre V8), quad exhaust tips stacked vertically, lowered profile, etc....with 417bhp 4.6sec 0 to 60mph....truly a sleeper.
With the amount of cars on this list that had a large price tag the Lexus ISF is most definitely a sleeper. Especially since you can find a good number of ISF's for far less money than a Chevy SS and the ISF has amazing tuning potential along with Toyota reliability.

But the S4 has a v6 twin turbo and came as a sedan and a avant. The RS4 came in avant only but had a more buffer fenders and quarters, a ton of carbon pieces, big ass brakes, and a whole lot more power. To the naked eye no one would expect that from a wagon

I even assumed that the slower BMWs were faster than they actually were, just because they were BMW… I know better now.

I have seen an SS once. I didn't really know exactly what it was. I suspected it was a GM vehicle, just one that I am not used to seeing.
