The scene in the Vatican gardens, the nuns at work, a transistor radio playing a lovely song. The geniality of Sorrentino is always surprising me.

The absolute genius. Sorrentino can turn an ordinary thing into a masterpiece. He did it again. Four years later this song and this video are the essences of greatness

The lyrics would translate as something like:
"Here there are no souls like you and like me, who dream of a life there's not yet been, souls searching for all eternity for a fleeting moment to be free."
It gives a very different vibe to the scene.

NON CI SONO ANIME.: THERE ARE NO SOULS
    Hey, you can call me
    Hey, you can hear me
    And remember me
    And long for me.
    Here
    There are no souls
    Like you and I
Which dreamed of a life that's not here yet
A life for you and I
    You can understand me
    And you can help me
    And damn me
    Or forgive me.
    There are no souls here
    Like you and I
Which dreamed of a life that's not here yet
Souls that endlessly are looking for
    A fleeting moment and freedom
    There are no souls
    Like you and I
Which dreamed of a life that's not here yet
Souls that endlessly are looking for
A moment of infinity and freedom
    You can call me
    (There are no souls)
    You can hear me
    Here
    There are no souls
    Like you and me
They dreamed of a life that is not here yet
Souls that endlessly are looking for
    A fleeting moment and freedom
    There are no souls
    Like you and I
Which dreamed of a life that's not here yet
Souls that endlessly are looking for
A moment of infinity and freedom. 🙏📿

I love this scene-the music , the serenity of the Vatican Gardens and then the apparition to comfort Lenny at the death of his friend-beautiful heartbreaking and uplifting all at once-pure genius-a fantastic series

This song is very similar to an English language song, it's on the tip of my tongue but can't quite make the connection. If anyone knows what the song is reply please. Jim

    Why was he murdered?

He was having an affair with the drug dealer's wife.

God punished him, I can’t say punished, may be there’s a better term for it, he disobeyed the pope, he couldn’t love god and was having an affair with a drug peddlers wife, he is also a homosexual(I’m not judging)

He had an affair with that dealer's wife indeed. Maybe we can interpret it like 'God took him because otherwise the cardinal would have done much worse things.'

because he wanted that to happen. He faced his mistakes, stood in the truth and faced his punishment. Indeed he loved humans very much.
