Snuffle Mat, Easy DIY: Brain Teaser Toy for Small Pets. There is no sewing required. You can make snuffle mats for all types of pets, big and small. It’s a great enrichment toy for dogs, cats, rabbits, rats, chinchillas and so much more.
To make this snuffle mat for small pets, all you need is some scraps of fleece and scissors.
I chose not to use a rubber base for the snuffle mat I made for the Ferrets. Ferrets really like rubber and it would worry me that they may chew it and swallow it so I left it out and just use fleece. You can also use cardboard as your base I don’t recommend using the rubber base for any animals that may chew or are known to chew rubber.
To make the snuffle mat for dogs or cats, you can use a sink mat as a base to help hold the mat in place. You can find the sink mat here: amzn.to/3uLqvg1
