    I’ve been having this issues with this for a whole year. Why is it that all the forums say different pin #s, what to do with ground, and which wires to use 😂
    Thanks brother, easy and informative

    You are a fucking God amongst men. The aussie car I used the ASWC on has been a bitch to install since day one. FR plugs into the FR kick panel... FL RR RL goto the right kick panel, and they have to be hard wired and spliced into the car's loom. So, no one has made a harness for it, let alone a SWC. I figured out which connections to make myself, but I could not for the life of me figure how to program it properly.
    Then there was you.

    Matt.
    My Aswc-1 has been connected but does not function properly. It seems to read the aftermarket stereo but only volume up works. Volume down,search up and down do not. Any suggestions?
    Does the ground wire from aswc-1 go grounded directly to chassis?
    The brown wire on the 3.5mm is connected to the swc wire(green,blue on Jvc deck) and pink wire is connected to pin11 whilst blue and pink wire is connected to pin9. Does pink wire and pin 11wire require a ground wire connected to chassis as well?
    Vehicle is mercedes w209
    Any help would be appreciated!

    You are a lifesaver! Got my stereo installed with the ASWC-1 adapter successfully working on 1st try! I have a 2015 and my wire colors were all different from your video but after you showed how to find the pins it became really simple. Thanks again you rock!
    I haven't tried the buttons yet, but do you know if the bluetooth buttons on the steering wheel work with this adapter as well?
    Next weekend, speakers! :) Thanks again!

    Did you splice the antenna cable or just set it aside. The reason I'm asking is bc I can't get mine to even power on. There's power to the wire so I'm not sure. I re installed the OEM stereo and it needed the antenna harness to be connected before it was able to power on.

    • @nightmarecivic
      @nightmarecivic  Před 3 lety

      Most head units will work with them on the back of the head unit you will see W/R which is wired remote. So this is compatible.

    Thanks for the vid! Where did you connect the brown wire? I'm a little confused now because on the website they talk bout connecting this brown wire! Thanks!

    • @nightmarecivic
      @nightmarecivic  Před 8 lety

      there is a brown wire that is used only for head units that have a blue and yellow wire. other then that the adapter gets unplugged and the headphone jack plugs right into the w/r port on the head unit. check your manual for which brown wire you should use with your blue and yellow wire on your head unit

    • @757phillycat
      @757phillycat Před 8 lety

      ok got that great! where did you connect the solid red wire from the ASWC-1 to car harness? thanks!

    • @nightmarecivic
      @nightmarecivic  Před 8 lety

      Solid red goes to the red of your harness your radio is going to. Sorry for the delay.

    • @757phillycat
      @757phillycat Před 8 lety

      Glad to hear back from you and thank you, I have everything figured except the blue wire. I know you are supposed to connect the gray / blue wire to blue wire but there's three blue wires in the harness. Im guessing its the blue wire that sits alone? Thanks!

    • @nightmarecivic
      @nightmarecivic  Před 8 lety

      You need to fallow the counting I did in the video. Check your aftermarket harness and the ones with no wires in the proper count will be the one you want.

    I'm about to wire this up... While the color matching you did makes sense, the metra guide says blue goes to red/grey and pink goes to blue/grey (and black to ground). Torn on who to trust!

    • @nightmarecivic
      @nightmarecivic  Před 6 lety

      Kakunapod unless they've changed the colors and your vehicle isn't a 370z I'd go with this to begin with.

    • @toasty4000000
      @toasty4000000 Před 6 lety +1

      Well, I think the instructions were correct however I cannot confirm. One of the wires broke as I was installing so I thought something was wrong on the software side and tried manually programming which overwrote the default settings.
      But, regardless, I feel like it doesn't matter because you can program the buttons to do whatever. But, blue to red/grey and pink to blue/grey is what I have working right now.
      Thanks for the quick reply! And for this video in general, helps even though I had some confusion.

    • @nightmarecivic
      @nightmarecivic  Před 4 lety

      Sounds like you grabbed the wrong pink and blue wires as those can go to the woofer and tweeter. Make sure too line up your aftermarket harness and see where the speaker wires are to confirm. Some newer 370z's had strange harness setups.

      Dynamic Mobile Audio Sorry i actually cut a white while installing. That fixed the no sound problem. But my steering wheel controls don’t all work. The volume down button does not work. And the volume up button and the down button for changing songs are integrated so they do the same thing for some reason. Are my steering buttons done ? Or is this a wiring issue

    will this work on a stock radio that you installed ?

    • @nightmarecivic
      @nightmarecivic  Před 8 lety

      A factory radio doesn't need an adapter like the metra it would be plug and play.

    • @archiij1707
      @archiij1707 Před 8 lety

      Matthew Reimer but my steering wheel controls aren't working with it , its not per say my cars factory radio , as I have an altima 2013 s trim so I bought an SL radio the small 5 inch ones and the steering wheel controls aren't working , so was wondering why ?

    • @nightmarecivic
      @nightmarecivic  Před 8 lety

      If it's not a direct OEM stock radio you'll have to buy the metra and set it up. If it's one from say a bose system that might not work either if you have a base model.

    • @nightmarecivic

      Wires from aswc1 are being wired to the factory harness located behind the radio. You may have to pull back the black OEM covering to see them
