  • The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza presented an interview with Maurice "Mickey" Carroll, who was a reporter for the New York Herald Tribune in 1963. Carroll witnessed the shooting of Lee Harvey Oswald, covered the Jack Ruby trial and later co-wrote the book Dallas Justice with Ruby's attorney Melvin Belli. The program was moderated by Museum Associate Curator Stephen Fagin.
This presentation took place at the Museum on January 11, 2014 as part of the 2014 Living History Series. Mr. Carroll is a hoot! I’m a former reporter, and it would have been so great to work alongside him in a newsroom; I bet he was a lively instructor for any budding journalist. They don’t make ‘em like this anymore. And Steve is smart to let Mr. Carroll “run with the story,” so to speak. You find many more interesting tid-bits that way. I’m so happy the Sixth-Floor Museum has archived these witnesses who experienced one of the saddest days in American History. I’m often amazed by how clear many of these storytellers’s memories are, but I suppose it’s because of the impact the assassination made in their lives.

That's why they had to URGE to interview the survivors of that day! BEFORE THEY ALL DIE!!!!
Would have been more accurate to begin that series of interviews 10-15-20 years before. Because more witnesses would have come. ALIVE!
Would have like A LOT an interview with Julia Postal the woman who was selling tickets at the theater in 1963. But she died in the 90's...

Agree. How can people view the Zappruder film and say the fatal shot came from behind Kennedy?

There were no other suspects apart from Clay Shaw being wrongly prosecuted for conspiracy & cleared.

Many people were killed after the assassination who possibly could have named other suspects.

It makes no difference what time Ruby was at The Western Union. They waited for him to be on the scene to move LHO.

You people never give up do you, it's a pretty obvious conspiracy statement with zero merit, it only appeals to conspiracy loons, I have heard that many many years ago. Thats really easy to diss- prove maybe with cell phones but relying on land lines and other things it makes no sense.
