      No lmao. Kenjaku has open domain too. This does continue any theme rather just a plot device for gege's fav toy. Like how you think this makes sense though? Sukuna sends slashes which cuts based on the ce output. Thats cleave. Dismantle has a constant ce output for non animate objects. Yuki made a death binding vow to create a small black hole which is still in her ct. While sukuna didn't do a death binding vow but can cut the world which would in theory require at least infinite cursed energy in a binding vow. Gege could have made it so that instead of cutting reality, sukuna can manifest cuts on people's body as a sure hit since he used his domain hand sign enmaten.

    I like to think Sukuna’s slash also worked because of how the Limitless technique worked. Limitless would always slow something down if Gojo was the target (because he trained it to do so in the hidden inventory arc). So it’s completely plausible that a technique would bypass Limitless if Gojo wasn’t the target.

    • @svenjra
      @svenjra Před 5 měsíci +85

      That's pretty much how it worked. Infinity basically imbues the concept of infinity on the space around Gojo. Sukuna's dimensional slash bypasses infinity by cutting up space itself, and without space, infinity has nothing to work on.

    • @343JustMe

      @@svenjra yea but like its just so lame that sukuna can fucking cut existence itself by just saying a chant or using a hand sign, thats like if gojo managed to use hand signs and a chant and limitless suddenly was applicable to other people and he could crush them with it. Its just such a stretch in logic and how jjk has worked so far i wouldve much preferred if gege just utilized the weakness of limitless that was already set up in the first place and let sukuna figure out that if he doesnt target gojo hed be able to bypass infinity

    • @svenjra
      @svenjra Před 5 měsíci +69

      @@343JustMe not really. Jjk already has the concept of extension techniques, where the sorcerer stretches the application of their techniques. Megumi created an extension for the 10S that allows temporary fusion, and Nanami also has his own extension for ratio.
      Sukuna making and extension for his slashes to cut space isn't that farfetched. He's already an expert when it comes to space and dimensions since he created the concept of open domain, and he literally had something to copy from on how to cut space with dismantle.
      The lame part is Gege's execution of Sukuna's victory against Gojo. Figuratively, no one won in that fight. Gojo got a disrespectful end, Sukuna's reputation got thrown in the trash for how Gege handled the whole thing, the fandom went insane, and Gege lost his credibility as a writer.

    I always saw the Gojo slash as Sukuna biding his time while Gojo walked up monologing. During that time, he focused all of his remaining Cursed Energy (he doesn’t use his technique again after killing Gojo until he regains his true form) into the dimensional slash “subtracting” the seals and chants usually necessary to let it off. Which honestly makes the feat even more impressive. As for why he’s chanting and sealing now? Well, that’s just the easier method for him now that he has the extra arms and mouth to do it.

    From what I understand is it doesn't necessarily mean he's cutting through reality itself, he just targets the space that Gojo is in, instead of Gojo himself.
    Imagine if you're looking at an object and someone entered your view and blocks your vision of that object, what usually happens is you shift your focus to that someone. But there is a point before you shifted your focus that you're still "looking" at the object even though your view of it has been blocked.
    But you can learn to do this, you can be face to face talking with someone but "look" behind them even if you can't see what's behind them. You would just look like you're zoning out from their perspective.
    This is what Mahoraga did, and what Sukuna learned to do. Instead of looking at Gojo, he looked at the Space that Gojo occupies.

    • @fabriceras9562
      @fabriceras9562 Před 5 měsíci +8

      This might be the actual thing happening. It definitely makes more sense than Sukuna cutting in 4d since that in itself would cause a rip in space time not only Gojo. Your theory is also backed by the fact that Gojos defense is automatic to block things directed towards him hence if you direct an attack to the space he occupies and not him himself, your attack is likely to bypass infinity, well unless Gojo manually engages it.....which he won't since the auto he has had on most of his life has been excellent and thus he wouldn't have seen the need to . Maybe thats where Sukuna caught him slipping

      Not to mention he has used the attack multiple times and it just looks like a much stronger version of dismantle. There’s no visual indication or effects caused by splitting a dimension. No characters are saying he’s splitting dimensions. Katana guy states that it’s only a stronger version of dismantle.

      You're entitled to your opinion, but I just want to say that the reason why Sukuna chants is bc he can do so in his true form without it hindering his fighting ability in anyway, if gojo had an extra mouth like Sukuna, he would chant for every red and blue just like Sukuna does. That's why he chants. He even chanted for the dismantle he used against higurama, after it was stated that he wasnt uses the slash anymore by Kusakabe

    • @a_kmza
      @a_kmza Před měsícem

      @@chris_k1d844 you're entitled to your opinion but the reason sukuna chants for each use of his "dimensional" slash is because of the binding vow he made to beat Gojo. In order to get the slash off with no delay he had to restrict every future use of that slash by doing the chants and making the target clear. Jujutsu mastery comes from subtracting steps. To the point that sukuna is able to use his cleave/dismantle with no chants, hand signs and even indication its being used. He wouldn't just start chanting because he has two mouths now otherwise he would do the same in yujis body where he could manifest a mouth wherever. His body is just built for optimal jujutsu usage because a second mouth reduces strain on the lungs and two sets of arms means he can keep weaving hand signs but he doesn't need to do it at all.

    The easiest way to explain this circumstance is by understanding that Gojos infinity creates space between himself and any attack. sukuna learned how to cut space so regardless of how much space gojo could generate with infinity sukuna simply would cut through all of it. So they both bordered on space manipulation but while Gojo used space as a shield sukuna learned to cut said shield

    I believe sukunas self made binding vow had to do with him having to tank the attack and allow himself to be pushed near death in order to pull it off without the hand sign and chant.
    I believe that this is how hakari rigs his spins for his domain too. That so long that he actively takes near lethal or lethal damage before activation of his domain, he gets a massive luck boost.
    I believe sukuna did much the same. He gambled with his binding vow, tanked hollow purple, and gained the ability to do the dimensional slash without the relevant hand signs or chants.

    The cut is less 4th dimensional thinking and may just mean he is targeting the world. My favorite example is he made a technique that say "fuk up everything in that direction". Cleve and dismantle targets cursed and non cursed objects, Sukuna is just targeting everything he is pointing at.

  • @AlliSinned
    @AlliSinned Před 5 měsíci

    I thought of the technique as not cutting the mass of an object, but rather cutting all that exists at a certain point in space. Gojo occupied the coordinates in space that Sukuna slashed, so he got cut. Like if in Minecraft someone encased themselves in bedrock, you can’t hit them from the outside, but if you teleport something (like a creeper) to that player’s exact coordinates, they’ll get hit by it. The bedrock is infinity; the creeper is the part of the slash that hit Gojo. Not a perfect analogy but a funny one loll

    Limitless is automatically block the attack only if the target was gojo what mahoraga did was instead of aiming for gojo he used that slash on the building behind him that made gojo's infinity to let to go as the main target was not gojo but it also expanded his attack to a bigger slash that's why gojo's arm was cut off
    Same logic applies to gojo's hollow purple it damaged gojo even with infinity still active after seeing that sukuna might finally figured out infinity weakness and targetted the world instead of gojo and expanding his CE output as well to make it even bigger slash that one shots gojo

    The way I interpreted it, Sukuna expanded his target. To where in boxing they will tell you the most effective punches are targeted past/through your opponent, Sukuna bypasses the infinity by targeting everything in that direction.
    Since infinity is basically compressed space, the further something goes, the slower it appears. However, Sukuna’s Cleave never stopped until it actually reached/went through Gojo. Due to the curvature of the planet, Sukuna would never have to worry about if this attack missed, either.

      As to why it was without a chant, he likely gave up the 10S technique as a binding vow. Once Mahoraga’s adaptation showed him the path to victory, Sukuna would have no need for the technique. Can you talk more about yuta's abilities? What are the prerequisites to using his mimicry, what is his domain expansion? Why is there a time limit in using a fully manifested Rika?

    • @youraverageguy4930
      @youraverageguy4930 Před 4 měsíci

      There are two versions of Yuta's ability, and consequently, Rika.
      The first version is the one before the end of JJK0. This version of Copy was able to mimic Cursed Techniques unconditionally and Yuta was able to fully manifest Rika for as long as he wanted. The catch is that Yuta had to perform a binding vow that traps the soul of his most beloved person in exchange.
      The second version is the one after Yuta broke Rika's curse and let her soul pass on. Before she left, the real Rika left behind her Shikigami's body, infused with her will, as a parting gift to keep Yuta safe. He can still use Copy, have access to external Cursed Energy reserves and numerous Cursed Tools she keeps inside her and fully manifest Rika, but he's now limited by certain conditions. Now he can only fully manifest her for 5 minutes, and Rika needs to either take a sample of a person's flesh/Cursed Energy to let Yuta mimic any new technique he encounters after breaking the real Rika's curse. The exact condition to copy a new technique hasn't been clearly stated, but it's implied to be either of those two.
      True Mutual Love/All-Encompassing Unequivocal Love creates a domain filled with an infinite number of swords, each imbued with Cursed Techniques Yuta has copied. He can select which technique will get the sure-hit effect from his domain, but he won't know which technique each sword has until he picks them up. He's able to use a copied technique while he's wielding the corresponding sword, but once he uses the technique, the sword disappears.
      As for the techniques that he's shown to have copied so far and are currently using in his Domain (Spoilers)
      - Angel's Jacob's Ladder
      - Dhruv's Shikigami creation
      - Uro's Sky Manipulation and extensively, Thin Ice Breaker
      - Inumaki's Cursed Speech

    so if theoretically Sukuna needed to perform a binding vow to essentially get the slash off without Gojo noticing, therefore needing to sacrifice something in exchange, could it have been the ability to use his fire arrow? Because Gege makes it obvious that Sukuna just, hasn't used it at all after the Shibuya Incident arc. when i read the chapter, i wasn't really confused. Things like this have happened before in manga. usually, when on this scale, the simpler it is. while Big Raga The Opp Stoppa adapted to Gojo, Sukuna saw how he did so. from there, sakuna copied same principles.
    instead of focusing his attack at a target whose an infinite distance away. why not cut the infinite distance? a cut through space and timeno matter the magnitude is surely going to cross something like Gojo's Infinity. Big Raga's fist adaptation was changing the nature of cursed energy, and its second was changing the target of attack to the space around Gojo. Sakuna merely copied that second idea because he found it possible for himself to do.
    people aleo say infinity slows down attacks aimed at Gojo, but that's not exactly the case, gojo isn't just limited to "attack" toward him his infinity can slow down EVERYTHING, no matter the intention. for instance, Jogo furst meeting lSakuna and the doing the hand touch thing, jogo at that point was clearly more curious and confused than hostile. nd other people can touch Gojo or vice versa, but that's only if he allows it or turns off infinity.

    in "Does Gojo’s Infinity Block Oxygen?" you said that Gojo changed the target of his new 24/7 Infinity to himself instead of objects coming at him. That had me thinking that that's why Sakuna's slashes needed to target the area that Gojo was occupying instead of Gojo himself. That ended up being super complicated, but it kind of made sense to me. I also wondered why Sakuna kept using it despite no one else having infinity. I guess, we've seen people tank cleve and dismantle without getting cut in half, so maybe this is his answer to that. The dimensional slash would definitely cut right through them and ignore their toughness. Gojo was able to restore his arm, but his RCT was on another level. Maybe that's what's going on.

Unless it’s wibbly wobbly timey wimey nonsense, all the slash is doing is changing the target, implying that all you need to do to bypass infinity is attack another target and in the process just so happen to hit Gojo “on accident.” But by that logic something like a ricocheted bullet could hit him, or a rockslide. I was constantly thinking that when Sukuna broke Gojo's domain, Sukuna's slashes could touch Gojo and did not do the damage the dimensional slash did to Gojo. That's how strong Gojo's cursed energy re-enforcement was and how refined his RCT was, I thought. Then I really understood. If the slashes are cutting the world itself, the reenforcement to protect yourself against the slashes does not matter. The space one occupies is not a conscious entity. Thus, it does not protect itself with cursed energy. It'll just get cut, which is why this slash is so freaking deadly. I imagine that Sukuna, with his fire characteristic can also burn the world. What a monster.
