- These classic English Scones with Strawberry Jam and Clotted Cream were created to mark the Coronation of King Charles III and Camila, Queen Consort. It's an official recipe by Martha Collison, posted on the Coronation Tookit for Big Lunch celebrations and street parties. For the Method/Directions it's best to refer to our video as some steps are missing in the recipe posted in the toolkit.
These Coronation Crown Scones have peaks like crowns and the recipe calls for Darjeeling tea - the King's favourite! Some smart north american could become uber rich marketing domestic clotted cream. If I had the start up cash I'd do it myself. If you haven't eaten clotted cream on a well made scone you have missed out on something heavenly. Cheers
@donnavorce8856, you're absolutely right! If we hadn't made it ourselves we would have had to drive a half hour to a British specialty store. And we only have that option since we live in a fairly big city!
Hate scones made with any sweetening agent! By the time you’ve added the jam and cream, it’s a perfect mini dessert!
