Live sporting events are always more intense than you can possibly imagine. A couple years back, I went to my first NFL game. Cowboys vs Vikings on Sunday Night Football, Halloween night. I'm there for the Cowboys, excited to watch their 1,000th game in franchise history, worrying about whether or not our star quarterback will be able to play. I see number 10, our backup QB, take the field for warmups and I am more nervous than ever.
Before the game even starts, I've been in my seat for about half an hour, fully dressed in a Cowboys jersey and hat, so the home fans know I'm not there for their Vikings. This one dude walked right up to me to get to his seat, stopped just to just my right, turned around to look me dead in the eye and said "Sorry for your loss", as if my best friend just died or something. The Cowboys ended up winning that game with their backup QB, making his first ever NFL start, throwing the game winning touchdown in the final minute.
Since I had seats in one of the lower levels behind the end zone, I had a beautiful view of the entire game, able to track the ball through the air on every play. It was surreal. And when I saw that touchdown, I knew we won the game before the ball even touched the receiver's hands. It was like slow motion the second that ball was thrown, and the instant I saw the receiver had jumped up to make the catch, seeing his arms and gloves stretched out to the roof, I knew we won.
If only I was able to find that Vikings fan after the game and tell him "Sorry for your loss".

FYI. Hes right about basketball games. It is the most entertaining event as far as american sports go. Ive been to a million NFL games and the entertainment is only on the field. Where as Basketball goes, you are entertained from the time you sit down till the time you leave. At Washington Wizards games, you get a concert after the game, sometimes. There are also more celebrities at basketball games. Amd during TV time outs, the entertainment does not stop. Football does not have this
