Some people marry their high school sweethearts, and other people keep their high school sweetheart AND build it into an absolute MONSTER! That’s basically what John Lazorack did with his 1988 Chrysler Conquest. He’s been building this bad daddy since way back to be both a daily driver AND a competitive race car. For simplicity and reliability he threw in LS3 with a hog of a cam and that's basically all it takes to make 500 horsepower with V8's these days! Top that off with some custom 1 of 1 designed fenders and canards all built in CAD after 3D scanning the car and you literally have the baddest Chrysler Conquest on the planet. Enjoy!

This was my favorite car in the ancient Hoonigan times!
Few things:
1) being in the UK that’s a Mitsubishi Starion to me, made famous by Jeremy Clarkson on Top Gear, getting one for less than £1500.
2) that thing sounds absolutely GORGEOUS!! What a noise!
3) John has engineered the shit out of it, appreciate that, what a legend!

Can probably import one for cheap from a different country. Anywhere outside of the us they're called a Mitsubishi starion
Always been one of my favorite builds. I had a starion and a conquest. You have to have 2 at a time if you want one running every weekend. Lost a front spoiler and had to use the wing off the top tail end of an 89 Suburban flipped upside down.

Man this car is one of the first videos I watched of hoonigan back in the day. Still easily my favorite car featured. Just because it looks cool and the man built or had a hand in fabbing or installing every fucking part on this beast. Built not bought.
Starion is definitely a bucket list car, developed a love for these things after I got my first mighty max, the 4g54 is a surprisingly good motor, just have to pre-warm the head in an oven and torque head bolts to 87-90ftlbs.
Damn I've been seeing these get a ton of attention lately. I need them to stay affordable until I have somewhere to keep one. This is the drift build car on my wishlist.

The Starion and Conquest were always my favorite cars as a kid! I had a friend who had one and it was so freaking sexy. It was like he was flying a jet, the number of switches and lights just made it look like a cockpit of a jet. Very nice example!

I've been watching Hoonigan for a little over 4 years now, and this car left an impression in me, I always remember it from the first time it was featured on a DT as one of my favorite builds. Nice to see it back again.
I've seen this car at Optima Challenge Las Vegas and it was hauling kicking butt. Love the build.

Legit, a buddy of mine had a $2k deposit on that Skyline a few months back. He was just about to call the dealership to tell them that he's 100% about getting that car when he got an email from the dealership saying that somebody had bought the car out from under him for about $70k. Man, we were so upset about that. Skip ahead a few months to when we're hanging out at my place again, talking about upgrades for his Challenger and what not, while watching a Hoonigan video when the new giveaway car was revealed. We looked at each other and said "that car looks familiar." So we go the dealership's website and look through their sold inventory while comparing the pics of the car he had that $2k deposit on and the giveaway car. Everything matched down to the yellow air filters. Low and behold, it was Hoonigan that bought that car out from under him. Toprank Imports in Cypress CA is where that Skyline was.
so basically yall are just butt hurt? Money talks. A dealership is gonna take 70k cash on top of a 2k deposit anyday. and so would I.

I had a 88 Starion back in high school as well, the electric gremlins were a nightmare with my car. I still debate on picking one up again lol. They look so tough even in today’s day and age.

AAAAAAHHH! Conquest and the Starion were awesome but they were not powered by a turbo 4 cylinder....it was powered by a turbo forklift engine. Big one though at 2.6L. I had 2 Chryslers and 1 Mitsubishi Starion. And when I tossed the TBI intake for a dual 2 barrel throttle body and 8 injector multi port EFI. Plus a 70mm turbo and a big front mount, I made 462whp on 98 octane unleaded (thank you sunoco) at 14psi. And on 26psi and 110 VP, 691 to the tires. Plus I went through the the engine with more gooder guts but nothing radical, forged Diamond pistons cryo-treated steel rods and cryo-treated steel crank from a forklift. Ported head, oversized stainless and sodium filled valves and a custom cam. All ARP studs and bolts and only $3200 in the complete engine. Plus a Motech stand alone. Stock trans and a narrowed Ford 8.8 with 3.23's and 10.20's @ 139.
