      don't forget his cornrows, baggy pants and those Sixers jerseys with stars in the front fits Iverson's style to perfection.

  • @onedollartorulethemall1540

    Iverson had an unusual dribbling style in those years. Smooth, amplitude crossovers, interesting ball transfers. He seems to be floating on the platform. Jordan also stood out for his style. Iverson is the beginning of creativity in the NBA.

      This video is missing all of the footage of Tyronn Lue completely shutting down Iverson defensively. That was what was so amazing about this game, For the first 30 minutes Iverson was absolutely unguardable, scored 38 points with ease, and then Lue came in, and suddenly Iverson couldn't even get a shot off. The Sixers couldn't even get the guy the ball out of a set play. It was amazing how the game just changed in the blink of an eye once Lue came into the game. It seemed like Iverson was just totally dead. But his teammates were able to hang around just long enough, and then in the final minute of overtime, it all just went completely right for Iverson again. Iverson shedding Lue off his shoe like a piece of gum is still to me the most incredible singular basketball moment of the 2000s, it was one of those things where you never forgot where you were when you watched it live

    • @scottjamieson273
      @scottjamieson273 Před 5 lety +8

      Stepping over Lue...over-hyped. FAR more made of it because of commentator/media hype than it deserved. What people never mention about game 1 vs. the Sixers is that because the Lakers ran the table on every team they played, swept them...they had a LONG layover waiting for game 1. They lost their rhythm and their momentum. I believe it was about a 10 day layover.

      hassan haulcy Mutombo was coming off a DPOY and rebounding leader season, McKie was decent and I believe over 40% from 3. Snow was good as well, and there were several other decent role players on the team. Mutombo was definitely a huge part of their success though.

    I truly remember watching this game. I had to share a room with my sisters in a 2 bedroom apartment. Parents had 1 room & it was me & 2 older sisters. But my whole family is watching this game in our JVC 24 square inch TV with the antenna & Aluminum foil wrapped up in it. The TV was on channel 4 (NBA on NBC) but my sister purposely turned the volume on mute just so she can put the radio on the Lakers & rather than hearing the guys from the tv we heard Chick Hearn's voice on the radio while watching this on tv. Truly memorable along with A.I. stepping over Tyrone Lue. & any real Lakers Fans know who Chick Hearn is. But for the ones who don't, the best way i can describe him is if you happen to be a Dodger Fan & love hearing Vin Scully. Chick Hearn is basically the Lakers Version of Vin Scully & called the play as it was going. & he had the best inside jokes along the way.
