"That's a pretty aggressive kiddie coaster." Right?!?! When I went my friends and I decided to go on some kiddie rides bc the line for all the good rides were pretty long. To my surprise that coaster took off and was crazy for a kiddie coaster. I'm so proud of my younger self for riding that alone.

I live right down the street from Knott's and I have a season pass, thus I visit (usually) several times a week, though never on a weekend, in order to avoid huge crowds. Lately they've been shutting down and even removing rides and have only replaced with one new one: "Sol Spin", which is middle-of-the-road at best, but Knott's is still my favorite theme park. I grew up with it and have watched it evolve over the half-century I've been coming. Sad to see some things go (often inexplicably), but happy to see lots of new, excellent stuff, as well. I'm a Knott's addict and have been for over 50 years.

Absolutely agree! Knott's Berry Farm is a Southern California landmark in it's own rite! Having been the birthplace of the Boysenberry to the birthplace of the modern day looping rollercoaster (The Corkscrew in 1975) this park manages to stay ahead of the game and compete with grand daddy parks like its uber-famous neighbor, the 1955 original Disneyland,....and it's competition to the north, Magic Mountain in Valencia. The park is so clean and beautifully maintained. And by far some of the FRIENDLIEST employees of any amusement park I've ever been to. (and I've been to a lot of parks from east coast to west coast). Their employees seem genuinely happy to be there and to help you in any way. I have a personal reason to love this park,...because they still have one of the very few old 1970's Schwarzkopf fly-wheel launch shuttle loops still operating to this day! Montezooma's Revenge is a classic Schwarzkopf shuttle loop. I grew up in the 1980's not far from Kennywood in Southwestern Pennsylvania. And during the 1980's,...Kennywood also owned a Schwarzkopf fly-wheen shuttle loop. It was called "The Laser Loop" and was at the very front of the park. It was my very first looping coaster experience. I was just tall enough to ride it,....but pertified! I LOVED the experience of going upsidedown,...and from that moment on, I was HOOKED on rollercoasters. So of course Laser Loop is long gone,...but Knott's Berry Farm still has Montezooma's Revenge and it still packs a punch! I love it!!!

I'm glad you enjoy Knott's Berry Farm very much because so do I. Unlike my other home park which is Six Flags Magic Mountain (except for Gold Rusher), It's very well themed to the state of California in both the old times and modern days

And this was before Hang-time which is way better than Boomerang! I agree that the biggest negative was some of the extremely long lines on the Log Ride, Hang time and Ghost Rider! I only got to ride each of those once during a full day at the park. The lines were crazy long all the way up till closing. I’d probably recommend skipping the weekends during the summer if you can.

  • @blizzmuzic

This is my home park. As a local, here’s my advice to maximize your visit. Go on a weekday in early December. Pretty much everything, including Ghost Rider is a walk on or station wait. I usually show up around 11, ride all the coasters twice and leave around 5:30. This includes a break for a boysenberry funnel cake. Great review man

I just got back from Knott's Berry Farm and it was incredibly fun, though they seemed to be having a problem with ride operations, Ghost Rider for example kept breaking down all day long to the point that I never even got to ride it today sadly. I feel like they could have added an extra vehicle on Xcelerator because it was just relying on the one car all day which probably had an impact on how slow the line was. However I did get to go on HangTime for the first time (rode it twice today) and it's an amazing new ride! I even bought a shirt for it. Great day despite my critical remarks.

I haven’t been to knotts berry farm since I was a baby, so I don’t remember anything from that place. But the time I went last month was the worst experience. It wasn’t the park it was the people I went with. I am the only one in my family that loves scary rides well also my dad. But my dad and my mom are divorce so. My moms friend and also her 2 little kids went with us. So it was basically just all toddlers except me. So the whole time I was there we where only at the kid rides 😩 We were there for 2 days and we stayed only at the kiddy rides. So I didn’t go on any scary rides.

I grew up going to Knott's Berry Farm and actually worked there for about 2 1/2 years before I left the LA area for college. A lot of the attractions that you loved about Knott's - the Calico Mine Ride, the Timber Mountain Log Ride, Ghost Town, Boysenberry Punch - were there long before Cedar Fair ever took over. They were all brought there by the founder, Walter Knott, who incidentally was good friends with Walt Disney. Anyway, I'm really glad you enjoyed Knott's. I haven't been there since 2003, my last day of work, but I'd love to go back and see what's changed.

I'm from Europe and will get to LA next year in may but I only have time for one of the three main parks. I'm really unsure if I should go for the thrills of Magic Mountain, the charm of Knott's, or if I should just go to Disney.
I mean Europa Park is my Home Park, and I've been to Disney Paris and Efteling, which is why I'm not prioritizing Disney Land. Magic Mountain has the thrills, but it's quite far away from anywhere and I probably won't have a car.
It'll probably still end up being Magic Mountain where I'll go to, because of a bunch of rides I won't see in Europe so soon, but is Knott's worth to go to instead?

I loved this park...sort of. I grew up going to this park a lot and while it has it's pros, it does have its cons as well. I suppose for me when I was younger I didn't go on thrill rides. I was, for the most part, scared to go on anything thrill related. Hell, I wouldn't even dare go on a roller coaster back then. So finding that middle ground ride was a challenge. However, this park is where I got my first experience riding a coaster. Jaguar was my first coaster ever. So I do hold that memory close to me. Overall, yes, this park has one of the most unique themeing. You can get candles made, wooden signs, even local jelly.

  • @johnsonfamilyvidsvlogs3745

I grew up in Buena Park. I got to go to Knott's a lot. I loved it. It's not as good as it use to be. But still pretty great. Mr and Mrs Knott did a great job there. If you haven't already, look us their history.

To me being the person that grew up in California everyone should say this is the Best first theme park of California that’s well known for funnel cakes, roller coasters, scenery, etc.

Boysenberry is a delicious raspberry/blackberry hybrid that was created at Knotts a long time ago when it was actually a farm still.

Knott's Berry farm is my favorite park!! I mean I like Disneyland and California adventure (who doesn't?) But Knott's is a perfect mix of everything and you're right the theming is awesome!! I haven't yet ridden the newly tracked ghost Rider but I'm sure it's even better than it was. I know people complained about the ride in the past but it has always been my favorite ride ever. It's not my home park because I live in San Diego...but it might as well be...haha!! Awesome review!!

Someone recreated this game in theme park tycoon in Roblox and it looked like it was really small. But looking at it now it looks genuinely big.

Just recently went there and LOVED it. Ghost rider is by far my favorite ride. Just some advice: GET THE FAST LANE!!! It is TOTALLY worth it. I got to ride Ghost rider 3 times in 25 minutes when it was normally a 1 hour wait or more to ride it once without the fast lane. I also rode Silver bullet twice in about 15 minutes. You pretty much skip to the front of every single roller coaster and only have to wait 15 minutes maximum, but usually only about 5 or so minutes. You also don't need to reserve rides like in Disneyland for the fast lane. Great park overall, love the themeing. Also the water park is pretty good too.

Wish this was my home park (being around 6k miles away doesn’t help). Being a Peanuts fan, this is my favorite park ever. But other Cedar Fair parks are on my bucket list nevertheless!
This year I’m finally getting to ride Hang Time!

We were going to ghostrider first but it closed so we had to wait until the end of the day to ride and the wait was horrible because we got in line but then the ride was delayed then it closed again and finally it opened and we got to the station

One thing i will say about silver bullet is the colour scheme if its go SILVER in the name then why is the track painted orange and red? they should repaint it. But i like how most coasters interact with each other kinda reminds me of blackpool pleasure beach

The cool thing with the ghost town is that it is based on a real ghost town in San Bernardino County also called Calico that Walter Knott had a lot of involvement in the restoration of.

    • @CoasterStudios
      @CoasterStudios  Před 6 lety

yup, that's true! We actually drove past Calico to get to Knott's, and it was pretty cool!

I think with food, you have to go to their Boysenberry Festival, where they go all out with the food to make them Boysenberry flavoured, and it's awesome

  • @Lagzlot

iirc Ghost Town is old, almost as old as the western setting it depicts. It's what the rest of the park grew around, and before Cedar Point bought the place it used to be sort of gated from the rest of the park as a place you could just walk around for free, like a very atmospheric mall (Ghost Rider didn't exist yet). That's why the theming around that area is so much better than the more coaster centered areas like Boardwalk.

This park is the only theme park closest to where I live so I go there a lot and it is my favorite theme park in the U.S. I don't really have a problem with the lines and I think they go pretty quick compared to other lines at different parks. Btw, which ride do you think is your favorite? Mine is Ghost Rider.
