New Mexico: Lincoln National Forest Hubbard Museum Horses & More: Cross Country Van Road Trip Day 15

- Join us on Day 15 of our Cross Country Road trip as we leave Roswell New Mexico, and continue forward. We first stop by the Hubbard Museum (across from the Billy the Kid Visitor Center) and see the awesome Wild Horse Exhibit outside.
As snow starts spitting, we move on to drive up through the mountains in the Lincoln National Forest where we see wild horses, elk, and STUNNING views.
Next stop is the Valley of Fires National Recreation Area where we trek through the Malpais Nature Trail that is a boardwalk trail through a lava field.
We then continue on to stop at Three Rivers Petroglyph Site do do some exploring.
The day ends with some unexpected events, but we were treated to STUNNING New Mexico Scenery throughout the day.

Nice stops along this route. The wild horses were super cool. Nice to see and learn about all the different breeds too. We visited the volcanic site. It was super cool to see. Awesome petroglyphs site. We bypassed that stop this time. Cool to see. We must have been overlapping routes the same time we were in the area with you two. I'm surprised we did not see each other. Loved all the horse statues and always so neat to see the petroglyphs. That sounds terrible about the accident, but you have the right attitude.

Those horse statues were awesome! Sucks to get stuck in traffic but if you have pretty much everything you need I guess it ain't so bad.

I liked the horse display. It would be neat to see the wild horses. I'd certainly be nervous if I were outside a vehicle and they popped up.
Interesting to see the snow in the desert on the mountains.
That was certainly a long wait while the took care of the accident and the person in the truck. It's a good thing you have the van. You can have a nap in the back if you want, while waiting.
This was a LONG day - but that is all part of the road trip experience!

This is fascinating trail starting some plants I am not familiar with. It is well maintained hiking trail.
I love this view 14:33 Snow covered mountain in distance, I have never thought of I can see it from New Mexico.
