To the hurricane Laura survivors, I am so glad you are still here. I know right now it feels hopeless and overwhelming to see your homes, your town and surrounding areas destroyed; like nothing could ever go back to normal. Life in your area will not be the same again, but you are strong and can rebuild. The changes in your surroundings may feel foreign at first, but eventually they will start to feel more familiar.. My advice is to take one day at a time while rebuilding. One foot in front of the other, just remember to hold each other up, to show each other kindness and love during these times of trouble. You will get through this. You survived. You are already stronger than you know. Hang in there. I will keep you all in my prayers. As a hurricane Michael survivor seeing what happened to you guys breaks my heart. You are not alone in this, I promise.❤️
Thank you for actually being serious and polite about this, some others just like to joke about something serious like this and that isn't funny. People like u just bless my heart, God bless you.
Kzinda God bless you too❤️... I know what you mean about people joking about this. We were made fun of brutally by people online after the storm destroyed our town. They made fun of our poverty and said “that’s what you get for living close to the sea” or “that’s what they get for not building with concrete” people can be so cruel😔 I remember how alone we felt after the hurricane. I promised myself I will always try to reach out to other hurricane survivors and let them know they aren’t alone and that someone cares.
@@absinthexiii4376 I know their can be some horrible people on this planet and it's just sad, but we have to be grateful for what we have and where we live
Valencia Raya amen to that! I hope you are having a great weekend and a happy October 🧡
Amen
Even though it was 15 years ago, still have a lil ptsd from Charley and this reminded me of riding that out, only it was 1-4 in the afternoon, not 1-4 in the middle of the night. I really feel for the ppl who went through this and as someone who lost everything, know what lies ahead and it's going to be rough, but keep your head up, survivng it is doable
September 24 made the 15 year anniversary to the last time lake charles got wiped out by a hurricane
A family friend lost her home and her job because of this hurricane she's devastated but she has her daughter's over in Texas to help through this. Thank the Lord for that! Last hurricane I was in was Alicia in 1983 never want to go through that again!!
From Texas, very professional video, we have friends from your state, stay strong
I stayed through this. I could hear metal and debris ripping and flying. Early into this, a wire came down in the rain and was hitting a metal dumpster in the rain and sparks and fire was flying. I am in Sulphur. About 7 miles west of lake Charles.
Wow! The footage from the parking structure was amazing! That sideways rain almost looked like a tornado lying on its side and twisting on the ground.
Another quality vid,Thanks SCV,keep safe !
We've been without electricity since Thursday morning at 3:30. Lost a freezer and 2 fridges full of food. Electricity isn't suppose to come back on until Wednesday. I'm thankful we didn't get hit like Lake Charles. God bless that little area.
Jeanne Dennis my brother-in-law, a line man from Tennessee, is down there now getting power restored. He said it’s destroyed. Bless you all. I hope recovery is swift.
Holly Beach reminds me of the down east community where my father is from.. I feel so much for the small towns in LA that have been so devastated by this storm..my heart goes out to the locals for sure.
I can relate
It could have been a lot worse had Laura tracked 20 miles farther to the west.
Thank you for this footage.
I really want to write something for you people, who experienced this disaster. But I got no words, I’m speechless. I hope you are doing well and rebuild again, return to your normal life. Love and prayers from Greece.
Most of us are in hotels in new Orleans with red cross I'm in my room as we speak
Thank you today things are slowly getting back to normal but still lots of repairs to be made in the city ❤️ I am grateful to have had minimal damage to my home
@@alexisritchel Glad to hear that you are recovering from this. I hope you don’t meet such a disaster again.
Incredible footage. Stay safe,friend. ✌️🇨🇦
Been waiting for your footage 🙂 was not disappointed.
Such a stupid comment with up to 6 if not more people died including a 14 year old child and total destruction and you are happy about that? You and the 12 people whom liked your comment should get a massive beat down.
@@supportyourtroopsathletes6460 she just wanted to see the accurate footage nobody is happy with what happened.
But he has alot of courage being that close to the storm.
Y’all got any cheese?
Beautiful out there. Love water. Done with the Vegas . 30 years now, time to go soon.
Thank you for the footage.
Excellent footage 🌀 🙂👌
Awesome footage!! I'm very surprised the power stayed on at that hospital. Back up generator's maybe? 🤔
finally i was waiting for the full footage to be realased yessss
That was a nasty beast of a storm! Great coverage. Hope all is safe with you.
The calm of the eye and the continuing storm. Today is August 30th and we are still getting the rain from the bands here in Memphis, Tennessee.
Omg i guy's stay safe x
I USED TO LIVE IN MEMPHIS YEARS AGO GOD BLESS YOU ALL 🙏😇
When all else fails, take shelter in a parking garage. They are the hardiest public available structures.
And get into an interior stairwell.during the worst part of the storm
Best footage I’ve seen on Laura! Great job guys... stay safe!
I miss my hometown so much. Heartbreaking.
I live in Louisiana been through lots of hurricanes this was the worst for me I work in Lake Charles it looks like a war zone so much destruction to homes and businesses.
Just drove in from Dallas today to see my grandmother's and cousin's house. I couldn't believe what I was seeing once I turned onto Lake st from 210. I've spent every Christmas in Lake Charles since I was a kid. The damage is everywhere you look and is an overwhelming heartbreak..
Prayers to you all.
Same the pain is real
Good job guys!
I saw the glass getting ripped off that tall turquoise building in another video it looked scary.
Yes me too
Crowned Morning Star Really feel for you 😥
Locals are now collecting glass from this building. They’ll be making jewelry and selling it to help recovery efforts here. I think that’s really cool. People here are pretty resilient and very resourceful. I think my hometown of Lake Charles with its residents are pretty amazing!
mustve been the capitol one building in LC. still missing glass to this day.
AWESOME 👍 FOOTAGE BROTHER BE SAFE OUT THERE 🙏🙌🙏
The sounds are terrifying....
It’s crazy:/ my house is completely flooded
Savage Gamer I’m so sorry, I hope things get better for you.
Absinthe XIII thank you!
i hate too say this but we got really lucky in lake charles that the storm made landfall east of expected keeping the storm surge out of the city
Same here in groves/port arthur tx.
@Derick Keith Roman yes thats what happend
@Derick Keith Roman tell that to war survivors
@Derick Keith Roman it rains on the just and the unjust , alike .

@@alaine5083 yeah I don't think I'd like to be in the middle of one I freak out if we get just 60 klm winds
@Chandler Howard this is true we last summer had very bad fires down gippsland way.
@@alaine5083 Imagine being in your house with the lights flickering (If even still on), rain hitting the roof, debris flying around, and the constant sound of a jet engine outside of your window for about 12 hours. Some people can sleep through this.
Be glad you don't get them. They'll terrible.
Good footage
Cajun and country folks can survive.
They have the Cajun Navy!
Glamo Scope wdym real storm

I still don’t have electricity North 27 in Sulphur. We were all slammed. Hurricane Laura did a number on Sulphur, Westlake, Lake Charles and everything surrounding. We rode it out and it was terrifying! We were very blessed to have minimal damage. My heart and prayers go out to all of the people around here that are trying to figure out how to start all over again! 😔
GOOD BYE LAURA ! Don't come back!
The name won't but the hurricane's will
I hope everyone is ok over there. I’m praying for everyone there to be ok. Nice footage though
ᏔHY SO SEᎡIOUS !!! I know :/ I’m heartbroken my house is damage pretty bad
ᏔHY SO SEᎡIOUS !!! It’s mostly just flooded tho thank God I still have my house but gotta replace things.
That's what a 150 mile an hour wind looks like at night. Bringing part of the Atlantic Gulf with it.. My GOD!
And codes here...prayers up for this upcoming season of storms...?
Isn't that unusual for there to be so much wind in the "eye"? Clearly the rain stopped but the wind was still lit. Doesn't it usually go to very light to calm? Why was this storm different in that aspect?
That's a tornado I thought
Duck looks a little bit like its in shock. Thankful it made it.
We had over 50 ducks and several geese that lived on the waterfront in the park. I know that they were terrified.
Is there any footage going down w prien lake rd
Why does the lower left hand corner of the video say hurricane Laura CDC 20/20 what does the center of Disease Control have to do with hurricane video just curious
They part of the beast system. Was probably there to observe there creation
I thought Ivan packed a punch ! Scary!
That shadow on the wall looks creepy 23:20
Oh yes I know you say...I see it and it like man but maybe statue
I'm always noticing things like this too. 😬
It wasn't there the first time around 20:23
I think that was a shadow of 1 of the strom chasers.
My neice was hit by this hurricane 🌀 I'm so glad she is okay!
😯 dang!!
What are the purpose of u putting the timer for diff places n time ya??
I wish ya’ll a speedy recovery. Be aware there are many dangers after the storm,
so stay safe.
The duck was like what the quack just happen here.
Man I wish I could download those radar apps. I love watching those. My bosses and coworkers used to call me the weather man because I would always warn them of storms coming. I like using NOAA but those radar apps were cool. Is it possible to get those ?
I'm the same way where I work! I'm called the weather man there too......
Have you ever used radarscope? Thats a good app you can download
This storm was identical to Michael I’ll never forget
I was thinking the same thing.
Michael was stronger. Next hurricane I will chase myself and just stay in the car and videotape.
For everyone who says this was not as bad as what it was, remember that this footage is from Lake Charles, LA. Lake Charles is several miles inland as compared to Cameron and Holly Beach. The eyewall of Hurricane Laura had already weakened significantly by the time it reached Lake Charles and it still managed to be a Category 3 and do significant damage. It was much worse on the immediate coastline of Louisiana, where winds did in fact reach 150 mph and stronger.
I live next to lake Charles, I use to work I’m Cameron. It destroyed my town. Unbelievable
23:21 the silhouette
Courage les amis nous sommes de tout coeur avec vous dans ces terribles moments, personne ne peut rester insensible
Stay safe all
That's my city!
Were ya'll not in Lake Charles? I don't know the city that much from living near it.
why the digital counter, theres already a counter on the laskbar ?
Nobody gets footage of Cameron. I only ever see holly beach
Dang !
You crazy and brave at the same time
We rode out Laura didn't leave till 3 days after! In moss bluff Louisiana
Is the second half of the hurricane, the worse ?
Yes
Here we go again yrs later@
Dang
whats the point in the
timer at bottom
I thought this was going to hit me with 150-155 mph winds
28:40 duck be like "finally some peace" 🐤
I thought the guy was shooting a criss vector fully automatic when the video first started 😂
Hurricane survivor louisiana
This still seems like only yesterday
Is that a clock I saw?
never use osb over plywood for stuff like this.
You should be telling us some info about what were seeing
Rain. Wind. More rain. Stronger wind.
27.41 there must be lots of fish straying to the beach
I wonder where and how all those ducks and birds take shelter.
They left days before hand they knew it was coming just as like the people they are there own weather man and have built in Doppler radar read up
In fact some country’s use the birds for warning of storms
ducks have doppler radar
Deus abençoe o povo dos EUA! E protejam todos...
My sister lives there....she said the damage is horrible!!!!
Why in the world are you yelling so loud
😔😪😪😪😪😪i just want to go back home im stuck here in new Orleans please save me

Still to this day alot of stuff is boarded up i lived in Galveston Texas it barely missed us
This reminds me of hurricane Katrina and Miachal
Ooooh, surprise !!!
Destroyed Power-Lines.
Doesn`t matter which Year, time in the year, Tornado or Hurrican all areas in the U.S. - each Video after you can see : damagded or destroyed Power-Lines.
Is it really so difficult to install that very important Network under floor ?
They try to avoid installing power lines underneath the ground due to water ingress concerns.
Brynnon D. I live in south Florida. We have underground utilities. Not an issue. Cost is a concern for power companies.
pretty sure everyone ignored the concerns and jumped to conspiracy’s instead of researching what it could do-
@@frankbutaric3565 That's funny because I live in south Florida too and when a baby hurricane hit 3 years ago all of Broward lost power but ok...
Few cities in South Florida have underground electric at this time. You're very fortunate.
at 23:20 Huge shadow of a man cast on the building. That was very odd... nothing denoting any kind of shadow on that building nothing before 22:33 until at that moment at 23:20 looks like the huge shadow of a man. The man wasn't even moving as if battered by the wind. Just a solid shadow. When you pan back again it is not there. Was that one of you guys somehow casting a silhouette on the building? Just thought it was so odd.
Wouldn't it be better to lay the power cables in the ground?
Well now you know what is structurely sound
Hurricane Laura o8 - 29 - 2020
So sad, all the broken hearts today, great footage, but so sad.😒😒😒💔💔💔
👍👍❗
At the very start of the video; That piece of plywood being screwed on to the window for protection wasn’t inspiring confidence! Not to be a dink, I just found it funny.
I always thought it was to prevent flying debris from smashing through windows
I was in that
4:23- is that a cop, or security?
5:09- pretty sure it's a cop... Nice of him to hang out for a little.
12:36- gee, the cops really like you...

Incredible footage! Looking at the morning after, I cannot understand why there are still, so many wooden utility poles, in towns that are considered a high flood risk area, especially after the last few storm seasons... Needs more attention, sooner than later
Crowned Morning Star Sad to read about the loss of your home. I’m thankful that you are okay, considering what you’re going through. i know this is a hurricane-- but on the topic of climate change--- i think companies REALLY need to consider if people are actually going to buy their products, or invest in homes and cars, if this type of natural disasters is just going to get worse and worse. Companies really need to do their part if only to protect their future customers, considering that huge companies are the leading cause to climate change
This is just as bad as Katrina, Wilma, and Michael!
Yep, that donkeys poop spread from LC to Shreveport. Hardly noticeable, like the intelligence of some one worrying about faecal contamination from porta-potties. Put simply, it was a micro drop into a very large bucket!
A more appropriate question would be “how are we going to help our fellow Americans that have suffered such horrific storm?”
Need to put something in the wind, like a kite, just so we can see how frigging fast the string goes out!
(I mean, you know, if they’re that close anyway...it’s not like I said to put a key 🔑 on the end or anything!)
Judging by other CZcams videos of Hurricane Laura, on a 1 to 10 scale, your coverage rates maybe a 2 in comparison.
