    So with this bike Yamaha has provided something for those middle class individuals who would love a reliable retro look bike but are not a proper rider as such. For people who are truly concerned about mileage and also require a light bike that is easy to control, this seems great. Taking your partner to a long lazy ride with the sun steadily setting in the background, this seems to be a perfect bike for the action. The seat is an unusual delight for the pillion as well, great for long rides. Above all, Yamaha tag makes it a reliable that is going to serve you for a long long time.

    Yamaha design team is pushing the level ahead every year. Looks like this year model has taken inspiration from TVS XL
    FZ16 + TVS XL = FZ-X!!! Boom.

      What does Yamaha management smokes? Instead of bringing a tested and in-demand XSR155 they chose to bring FZx.

      Yamaha did a great job in terms of design when they launch FZ16 back in 2008. It was ground breaking design back that time. I still own FZ16 v1. Problem is with the updates, anything came of FZ16, FZS after 2012 was not visually striking. They can easily make a killer looking entry level tourer / off road bike with same chassis and engine.

    The good thing about it's existence is that it's comparatively affordable when compared to bigger retro bikes like RE or Jawa and I'm comparing Fzx with them because this will not look so odd if you join a riding group with this bike, if you're in a budget Or want some light and hassle free cruize.

      If retro bike is all it required xpulse 200t is much better than this crap at 1.7 lakhs on road. If you spend 8k more you get ronin or hunter retro both are far better than this crappy motor cycle. Not sure where the affordability comes with this motorcycle when it's insanely priced 140000 ex showroom

      @@ShyamSundar-kx2uv all true, but this is lighter, more fuel efficient and more forgiving for those who are trying out riding for the first time and may want to upgrade to the likes RE later. Or maybe change their mind and carry on with only daily commutes. (Plus, it's a yamaha product)
      Edit: I'd compare it to hunter metro, feature wise. So there is a substantial difference in pricing. Plus, whatever I said above.

      @@outdoorquest3005 in what way is it equivalent to hunter metro or ronin ss. These are far better bikes at just 9k extra nd hero xpulse 200t is much better at same price bracket. First time riders are not going to like a bike with a stiff back suspension which throws you around. This is insanely priced high for its specs.

      @@ShyamSundar-kx2uv compared to retro, fzx got alloy wheels that's one puncture fear gone. It can cruise at 70-80 that's pretty in par with RE plus the reliability we'll get by yamaha. So, for a beginner it's a good place to start. I myself have the fear every time i take out my jawa.
      Edit: also it offers a rear disc compared to retro.
      I think you're comparing the perceived brand value of retro, and you're not wrong in that.

    Yamaha is just focused on MT15 and R15.
    Being fz v2 owner, I have waited for so long for some updates in fz series but after a very long wait I think I will go for apache RTR as that machine has changed alot and is super refined with way more power (I never thought I will say this but smoother than Yamaha)

    Yamaha should have given traction control and new instrument cluster to fz25 instead of the fzx or fzs series of 150cc bikes. That would actually help the sales of the bike because its the only big bike they have for masses .

    Why would you recommend FZ FI over this unless you are talking about design? Both are essentially 98% the same yet I found people criticise FZ-X for more things which are same in FZS FI

      This is usually because the update of this bike indicates that xsr might not enter Indian markets for a while. For many frustrated people criticize this bike, doing sautela vyavahar to it. Yes power, battery etc issues might come up here and there, but they can come up in every bike. So I suspect the jealousy of people and they holding this bike responsible for preventing entry of xsr to Indian markets is perhaps the strongest reason.

    I want the Ronin TVS, but in Mexico , neo retro byke is hard to find (only chinese bykes), so for the prices, for beginner only have this or the hunter RE (but this is not very comfortable for my knees). I hope TVS brings the Ronnin soon =(

    Its a well put together built to last motorcycle. It looks too short in length. It would have been better if yamaha would have done this with a 250cc engine. Would have made more sense for touring

      Apache RTR 160 4v
      Don't just get attracted by the bold tank of FZ as the power and torque is not that great. When a solo rider is enjoying the ride it is fine but as soon as pillion joins you will wish for more power, which is not the case with apache and one more thing Apache's engine is much more smooth also now.
      Pulsar is a nice bike but based on my friends past experiences the reliability is doubtful, what happens to Yamaha in 10 years happens to Pulsar in 5 to 6 years.
      Rest choice is yours and whatever you decide just don't forget to enjoy the ride whenever you take it out with you.

      get fz v3, don't pay for extra features, not worth it, save 30-40k get nice boots helmet and gloves as well as fuel money.

      Not necessarily, this bike offers an easy commute or cruise with the retro charm, which makes it super afforded, since you can join your local retro bikers with this machine and you'll blend in with them by paying half the price.

      There are vibrations compared to what Yamaha used to offer before. I recently tested new fz models and I am owning one for past 8 years, the refinement is not up to the mark now and I think the review is damn honest.

    Kya ho kya Gaya he Indian Bike market ko. Koi bhi kuchh bhi features leke aa jata he. Ab ye traction control ka kya kam he iss bike me, ulta Yamaha ne MT me bhi isse nahi Dena chaiye tha. Bhale hi iska kuch use nahi ho lekin sirf R15 ko hi ye gimmick suit karta he R15 ke character pe wo suit karta he. Ye TC in dono bikes me deke R15 ki value down ho jayegi. Jis price me ye dono bikes aati he inme 2ABS to hone hi chahiye, Aur jis price pe MT aati he us price me MT ko bhi TFT console aur Bluetooth milna chahiye. As a loyal Fanboy of Yamaha, very disappointed ❤️
