But it's sooo confusing and long
Rural GdC. It isn't at all confusing, and all modern episodes are only 45 minutes, and you don't have to start from 2005, or even 1963, when it originally started, you can start in the new series and it will pretty much all make sense.
Well, I recommend starting from series 8, or basically make sure you start from the start of a new series of a Doctor.

I never thought I'd say this, but she absolutely smashed it! She took probably one of the greatest songs ever and made it her own, unique cover, by making it jazzy and classy. I think artists should take a lead out if Foxes book, as she's incredible
