Tbh Nintendo made this happened. Sony and Microsoft aren't going to showcase this collection at their presentation instead opting to show more hero shooters and Call of Duty but Nintendo came and said hey Capcom we got your back. Bring Marvel back to Nintendo just like the good old times.
I believe that Marvel waited on Disney to acquire Fox, and to build hype before Deadpool vs. Wolverine. This will also be the first time that the arcade version of The Punisher will be released on a home console.
Nah... X-Men 97 made it possible, because proved people were CRAVING for the characters and for that cartoon. My hunch is: THEY'RE MAKING MARVEL VS CAPCOM 4 ON THAT STYLE.
Based on the fact Terry and Mai are in SF6, I'd say we're getting it. Wait til EVO announcements. I'd say we will get CvS, CvS2 and a rebalanced SvC:Chaos port available by the time Mai is released as DLC.

My fave Darkstalker, my fave street fighter, and my fave Marvel fighter Ken Masters has been my man since I first saw his fists in flames Night warriors revenge and Marve super heroes I grew up with on the Saturn and I know these ladies got my back. In mvc3 and mvci I rock Zero and Dante too.. because I love their games and thankfully capcom made them fun as hell fighters
My first MVC game was MVC1 back on the PS1 but it was MVC2 that made me go into the honeymoon era for my love of this franchise, I remember first seeing Marvel VS Capcom 2 in Disney world's contemporary resort hotel arcade in the very early 2000's and my main team on it since I was a kid will always be Spider-man, Venom & Mega man. Funny enough just a month ago back in May, I went to this little Pinball/Arcade comic store bar with friends and out in the wild they actually had a MVC2 arcade cabinet there & I managed to get the highest score on the machine since I've been recently playing it on both the Dreamcast and Fightcade2 before this amazing news got announced so everyone there was blown away by me beating the arcade ladder with one quarter & no continues. that game made the trip to that place so well worth it~:)
This new game is definitely a Capital-Marvelous idea for a Wii game ! ! ! ! My fave was always of all time the original MvsC ! ! Online now? Whoo ! ☀️ ☁️🎈☁️
Yeah but tbh that character never exist in the western versions of these games anyways. If it was me at Capcom I would replaced him with either Morph, Mystique, or Nightcrawler in the game.

The two Capcom Super NES games (X-Men: Mutant Apocalypse and Marvel Super Heroes in War of the Gems) and the NES and Sega Genesis versions of the Punisher will probably come via NSO at some point, maybe even when the collection release, we never know.
