  • The New 1 & done Graphene compound from Turtle Wax is the simplest and most effective way to remove scratches from paint that I have used to date. This stuff is AMAZING!!
    It is not in the shops quite yet, but check out the turtle wax website to see when it is available in your area - www.turtlewax.com and a HUGE thank you to Turtle Wax for giving me the chance to review their new 2021 line up of products before they are available to the public and an even BIGGER thank you to everyone who has subscribed to the channel for making that a reality :)

    Dave, as an over-the-counter/PRO "system," these products do an astonishingly good job. The Compound does a terrific job refinishing the paint removing scratches, swirling , and oxidation, but I've been most impressed with the deep shine it leaves, especially on darker colored cars. Even after an ipa wipe down the shine holds. The MAX and FLEX are definitely icing on the cake!

    First off, thank you for taking the time to post this video. Have you had the opportunity to try DIY detail's gold standard polish? The reason I ask is because according to them it's an "All in one" like this turtle wax product. I'm just up in the air on deciding which one I should try. Thanks buddy

      @@user-yh7ip1yh8i hi, thank you, really appreciate that!
      Unfortunately I haven’t tried that polish so can’t comment on it, but I do know the 1&done is good, I’ve used it a lot 👍🏻
      It will depend on how well known DIY details products are, as if they developed it themselves, might be really good, but if they just buy a “white label” polish and rebrand it, it will probably be rubbish

      Laquer thinner? Do you mean IPA? If so, no, just give the car a good wash, dry it, then preferably use a clay bar to remove and stuck in dirt, then use the one and done, then you can just put a wax on top, but ideally, once you have used the 1&done, use IPA to remove any residue polish so the wax sticks better 👍🏻

    Does not fix scratches. Watched other CZcams videos, TW 1 and Done, is not all that unable to do much on scratches. I am shocked Dave said the vehicle "Mercedes" was already clay bar. I do like the shine. Then the Mercedes age is unknown and somewhere was neglected, maybe he'll do paint correction or a minor repaint job to rid of some of those nasty scratches.

    • @DaveRebuilds

  • @wrightvideos2011

    I used the One and Done yesterday on my car; using the 50/50 microfiber pad first (4 dots on the pad) and then used the black foam pad (4 dots on the pad). I tapped the pad over the area to be done, started the machine out at a 1 speed (using a Porter Cable machine) and then switched to 4 speed in a cross hatch; doing this way with the 50/50 pad. Then when using the black foam pad, I also tapped the pad over the area, started out with a 1 speed to spread, then changed to a 3 speed in a cross hatch. I noticed that with each pad and application, it was harder and longer to remove the compound; I had to use all three microfiber towels; and it wasn’t very translucent. What did I do wrong?

    • @DaveRebuilds
      @DaveRebuilds  Před 3 lety +1

      My guess would be that you maybe worked the compound for too long, it’s sometime a good idea to spray a little water over the pad between applications to give the pad some moisture. I’ll give it a try when I’m next polishing a car and let you know 👍🏻

      @DaveRebuilds  Před 3 lety

      It’s a Rupes machine that I use, in the video I did the heavy work on a 6 setting which is around 500-5500 rpm I think, then Reduced the speed to a 3-4 for the refinishing (about 3500rpm)

    Love the videos but I'm a novice at this. What does clay barred mean?

    • @DaveRebuilds
      @DaveRebuilds  Před 3 lety +1

      It’s a process you do after having washed the car. You use a clay bar to remove any contamination that is embedded in the clear coat of the paintwork. Really simple to do, I have a “how to video” on how to use one if your interested? 👍🏻

    Dave how much cut does this have compared to ultimate compound

    • @DaveRebuilds
      @DaveRebuilds  Před 2 lety +1

      It’s a much better cut in my opinion dude, and it refines itself down so it almost acts like a polish if you work it for long enough. I’d def recommend it as a great 1 size fits most lol

      @@DaveRebuilds I did a pretty reasonable job with it on a black golf , impressed considering how hard German paint is .
      Seems to go a long way as well
      Plus I only had a med , light and refining pad
      No heavy cut pad .

      @@jezlucas3878 awesome! Yeah hard cut pads can be super risky if you don’t know how deep the paint is!
      I need to get a paint depth gauge as well as it’s only a matter of time before I make a mistake and have to repaint something lol
