      Another one? What one happened before? I’ve watched every Grenadier video on CZcams in every language I think and have seen precisely two issues this is not one of them. A guy in Australia lost power steering no follow up to tell us what went wrong and a guy who raced his in Baja and had to tow it to a US dealer expected issue bad fuel which seems likely because in his video he shows refusing the car from a blue open top 55 gallon drum and a coffee can.

    There is no wrong fuel. There is preferred fuel. This is a software glitch scheduled to be fixed with next update. Forums suggest to avoid this simply wait to start the car after everything boots up, you know the lights stop flashing and cycling. I’ve followed this start up procedure by turning on the key, putting my seat belt on and then starting the car. As an automotive content creator I’m surprised you weren’t aware of this very well known glitch, nothing is broken. In off road mode all those systems are turned off anyway so who would care about a temporarily unavailable driving nanny anyway because of a bug in front of the sensor or glare or what ever causes those intermittent messages.

  • @simonatik

    All I got from this is you take photos of your gas receipts AND with all the issues you have with cars, and being a car blogger you don’t own a cheap OBD2 scanner?? CE light is almost always emissions/fuel related and at the least you can diagnose the OBD2 fault code with a scanner and even clear it.

  • @jordanimatedstreaming
    @jordanimatedstreaming Před 2 měsíci +2

    I like that you acknowledge in the video that you can use your breakdown as content. First step is to scan for codes. I suspect this to be another nothingburger Check Engine Light code that will require a new sensor or solenoid at most, but there's also a slight likelihood that something is actually malfunctioning. I would use a scan tool to get the codes then reset the CEL and take it for a 20 minute drive to see if the CEL comes back on. When you get a CEL but everything seems to still be mechanically operating the good news is it's likely not something catastrophic, but it needs to get checked out. New cars under 5,000 miles can be universally unreliable and have some teething problems as cars go from from being a bunch of parts put together in a factory and being used regularly in the real world, but there's no worry or concern for this because that's why manufacturers have warranties in the first place.

    We looked long and hard at one of these. The price mark up was a no go. But my big concern was the odd screen and lack of dials in front of the wheel. The other issue was BMW air conditioning. I’ve had a 7 series and the AC was 🐕 💩. And I’ve known others who had similar issues. Our area is too hot to deal with an iffy AC. We drove it and enjoyed it, wife too-but I think she’d miss the creature comforts of our Denali. Lift gate, power folding seats and all that stuff. I suspect many will buy this and then miss what they had in range rovers and denalis and such. My end assessment was to give it two years and find a used one for 35k or so. Let the hype die down.

    Kinda reminds me of my dad's 2017 Ram 1500, where his gas cap has been changed, but the truck swears there's still a leak. So it doesn't use the cylinder deactivation, but the 8 speed and air suspension go a long way to keep its fuel economy from being poor. Or like his tail light sensor must be out, because the LED tail light is fine, works for all functions, and my dad has even replaced it (since LED tail lights require the entire unit to be changed instead of just a bulb like halogens), and the truck still seems to think there's a problem with it, lol. The more sensors we put on stuff, the more the sensors go wrong than the actual thing its monitoring.

  • @JeremyEdwards996
    @JeremyEdwards996 Před 2 měsíci +1

    There is a few things it might be, the most likely being you overfilled the fuel tank. The Grenadier will not go into limp mode unless it is something safety critical or likely to ruin something on the vehicle. Get yourself a basic OBD II reader and look up the code. Some codes will reset after 8-10 restarts, other will need to be wiped. If the code is P0461, it is the fuel level sensor and you may find that your cruise control won't work at the moment.

    Two things Ben, don’t headline my car broke down when it hasn’t !
    Secondly read the manual or learn your settings on the display , just can scroll through the menu and it will give you the option for know faults .
    Actually a 3rd thing , over in Europe there was a massive software update on all the early wagons . Chimes and bleeps were common for the early adopters , I’d check it’s had a full update. If it hasn’t they’ll need both keys to carry the upgrade out.
    I had mine done just after Christmas and it’s been faultless ever since .
    Please don’t slag the car off when there’s actually nothing more than a software glitch .

    disconnect the battery, hit the horn to drain any built up charge and then reconnect...if the check engine light comes back on then scan it. It could be a faulty / sensitive EVAP sensor tripping the code.

One Australian owner had a Power steering failure in his driveway after an Outback adventure of mud and winching and towing a caravan, trailer to you and me. Second a Midwest guy took his to Baja and had to tow it to a dealer, likely problem bad fuel but we haven’t heard anything official but considering in his video he shows refueling the vehicle from an open top blue 55 gallon barrel, funnel and a coffee can or similar container to scoop the gas out of the blue barrel it seems a likely cause. But he faired better than a Ford Raptor I think it was that caught fire and burned to the ground.

    Why the heck would not twisting the fuel cap cause the engine light to come on? Is this guy for real or does he just know nothing about vehicles?

      It says ">280", which is sort of weird, but after a bit of driving will come up with a hard number. Range at 15mpg would be 345 miles. I've been getting between 17-18 in mixed driving, a high of 19.5 on the highway, and 14-15 around town.

      My wife gets 16-18 average in her X7 and a similar high as yours on the highway. It still gets 16 pulling a kayak trailer. Looks like the B58 puts out similar mileage in both SUVs. I was expecting the Ineos to be much worse.
