Chip Detector is for metal bits in the engine or transmission oil. ( I was an engine man on Huey/Cobra/Loach in Vietnam).
I would like to see your RPM indications. There should be a switch on the collective that is rigged to control RPM between 6000 and 6600 engine output/transmission input. We called it the beep switch. Rotor max RPM is 345. Maybe that is not modeled in the sim. You need to check the battery voltage before starting, 24 volts minimum. Torque is a limiting factor and hot ambient air temperatures degrade performance.
Love that video. I was a door gunner on a Huey in 1969. I will definitely buy this.
Where, what outfit? B Troop, 7th Squadron, 1st Air Cav, Vinh Long, 68-69.
@@i.r.wayright1457 A Company 158th Assault Helicopter Bn. 101 Airborne Camp The Ghost Riders Camp Evans 2/69 to July 69.
IFF is used with the transponder, IDENTIFIER FRIEND OR FOE and sends a special encoded signal to radar to identify you are a Friendly force.
Those sounds!!! Love this video! Thank you!
Nice review. I'm gonna have to grab this! FYI - you have a bit of a copy/paste issue, as the description and therefore the chapters are for another video. Also FYI - Taog had at least one other payware heli, and that's the SA316B - Alouette III.
Great job love this Heli picked it up the min it released . Just love the sound we have a rescue one here in Melb & love hearing the sound of it coming & flying over the house . Plus thanks for that VRS tip I knew I was doing something stupid when I would get a flat spin outta nowhere .
Been waiting for a review of this bird! Thank you!!
No "Fortunate Son" blasting? "Ride of the Valkyries"? C'mon man... :)
Chip detectors are for warning that there are chips of metal in the transmission or tail rotor gearboxes and also the engine use a chip detector too.
This is how taog lets you know you have over torqued the engine
As already mention Chip Detection is for metal pieces in the engine or transmission oil. It has separate detection for the main and tail rotor. It means that you damaged you engine or transmission by overstressing it. It's a feature in many aircraft with turbine engines (the Pilatus Porter for example) and has nothing to do with icing. 😉
I've jumped, rappelled and fast roped from Hueys. I love that bird and will definitely get it. The one I had for FSX was great but this one seems beyond belief.
FTR, VRS = VORTEX Ring State, basically you're drilling a hole in the air.
I deleted DCS after flying this thing and that one back to back. They flew so similar, and with all of the mods I have for MSFS at this point, and my appetite for combat being so low these days, it made perfect since. I've been flying all over Washington, Idaho, and Montana and having an absolute blast.
The NVG Light selector is used when wearing Night Vision Goggles, has nothing to do with flying in a formation.
My mistake. I thought it was for identifying position. Thanks for the information!
Taog's hangar has 2 other helicopters for sale too. The Alouette III which I own is very good too. And taogs hangar has a sa315b lama. Have not bought the lama yet but plan too.
The Lama is a must have, as well as this one. I can honestly say I would buy anything from Taog's hanger in a heart beat... Fantastic heli's 👍
Dude - when you look at your title thumnail at first glances it looks like it says "Uh Oh Honey" - it's funny!
I love the beam eye tracker and this huey. I bought the huey on day one release and wow.
Not sure but i think the crew chief position is wrong, that is more of a black hawk position, should be at the back of the aircraft usually where one of the door gunners sit, still cool though it is on my must have list
Carradine film POW guy flips switches in an instant
flew in one of those so many times in the army
I picked the Heuy up on release and i have not regretted it. It's such good fun to fly.
I also use beam head & eye Tracker and really do prefer using it, even over using my quest 2 vr headset and its own inbuilt track ir??
New MSFS simmer here but former Army UH-1H pilot in Vietnam. Does this software require any additional software or interface to run in MSFS 2020? Loved the video and that sound of the Huey brings back so many memories. I was almost bouncing in my seat to the sound, I closed my eyes and it took me into the “way-back machine” Loved it!
Just got the bird today and I am still figuring out why the Master Caution light came on. Any idea?
Mind you I've flown this bird in DCS for ages and the handle on both FMs are very similar on casual takeoff/landings but in DCS I do a lot of combat harsh maneuvers (overspeed & overtorque 😮) so it's hard to compare the two in this exact situation.
I bought it but it dont shows ingame??
With regards to the flight model, is there any actual ground effect modeled, like in DCS? Does it realistically weathervane in forward flight, or does it unrealistically force you to use constant application of the torque pedals?
I've been flying in high winds, it's a real handful until you get moment up. Hovering with a high tale wind will challenge the best of pilots, but turn it in to the wind and it's superb. So yes weathervane in forward flight and hover😊👍
I believe that's his second payware , first one was the LAMA.
Third. The first was the Alouette III, the Lama was the second one.
Where did you get the exhaust diffuser and the gunner livery from?
It all comes with it
gonna have to give this one some thought.. know I will be upgrading/changing to msfs2024 when it hits.. so might save my pennies for aircraft there instead
Hopefully it Comes to Xbox
It is I think …
Nope. This is his third payware release and no it’s not a must have.
Can anyone help out please? I can't get this to show up in MSFS. I've purchased & downloaded it ...but I do not know where to put it within my MSFS files? This is my first "third-party" purchase for MSFS.
I agree with you on the Virpil collective & throttle ...it & a Buttkicker have changed my simming experience ...lol.
I too have trouble sometimes with 3rd party software, that’s why I’m waiting for it to come to the market place.
Make sure it’s in your community folder and unzipped.
@@tomas5577 Thanks my friend.
I had TWO community folders ...leftover from an update. It was simply in the wrong one.
