There is something powerfully nostalgic about watching these videos with the song Nice and Easy. I don't know what it is. I can't explain it but I sure do feel it.
Funny how contemporary the women in the first photo look - as they look as if they easily could have had this photo made in the early '80s. And with all of such photos, against the backdrop of the mesmerizing music, one gets the feeling noted in the classic Steve Miller Band lyric: "Time keeps on slippin', slippin', slippin' into the future."
Makes me sad in a way. All my aunts & uncles who were in their 20’s in the 50’s are long gone. No grandparents or great aunts & uncles. My mom is the only one of her family left. She’s buried 2 husbands & 2 children. Even among the cousins there are husbands gone. Just feel old
The most notable is that people were slender; whereas nowadays, there is an American epidemic of obesity, that people had to actually stand up to go to the TV to change channels! And people ate real food, that they actually ate really fresh, organic foods before anyone had thought of pesticides and chemical fertilizers. Wives stayed home and cooked real meals, while the husband worked and prices were proportionate, such that he could buy a home, that there was low interest rates, and buy appliances, a car, and easily send the brats to college--a time before credit cards! But, the predatory global corporations put and end to that! Now, the corporations figured out how to force the husband and wife to both have to work to hopefully qualify for a mortgage. An obese population has been wonderful for the pharmaceutical and corporate hospitals and clinics! Yes, the '50s were great. When fathers did yardwork, such as my father, they wore casual slacks and shirts, that nowadays, would be dressing-up. Now, there are obese men who wear pajama bottoms to stores. And children are raised by cell phones and TikTok (thank you Xi Jinping for that!
O, the nostalgia! O, the humanity!! the women's hats, the cars, full skirts, men in suits and ties and hats!!! kids bein kids! I was one then..
Such class. Such style.
When the words "Elegance" and "Grace" really meant something! GORGEOUS styles - the men and women alike!

Beautiful people. That generation is an inspiration. They were more alive, connected and grounded than we are today.
YTT comes roaring back in all its glory!
Before my time but I love all things vintage
I love the atmospheric music!
So delighted to see this channel up and running again
Back in the day “Class” meant more than fine clothing, it was part of who you are. Today “Class” is non existent.
What fun they are having without cellphones.
Very nice,thanks.😁

I've always liked the pointed glasses. I still wear sunglasses 🕶 with a slight point. They just fit my face. 😎
Thanks! Loved it!

The girls always have a lot of change in their wardrobes over the years, men not so much!
