I mean he was distraught describing murdering all the sand ppl which he despised...just imagine him having the same convo with himself in his mind about a group of people and children he actually cared for.

    • @englishlady9797
      @englishlady9797 Před 3 lety +6

      In the novel it comes over quite differently, he's crying so much when doing it he can barely see clearly, and in some illustrations has to literally turn his head away. He can barely bring himself to do it, and the Dark Side has to almost whisper in his ear in a weird surreal moment.
      However, I did want to mention one thing. People think that Jedi younglings were so helpless, yet a scene or two later we see a child who can't be more than 9 year old taking out 3 Clone Troopers with a lightsaber, and in the battle of Geonisis scene in AOTC there's a couple of Padawans who look no more than 11 or 12.
      The Jedi started training kids in combat from an absurdly young age, as young as 7 or even earlier. 9 year old younglings could actually be quite deadly.

    I mean in canon it was the clones entirely that killed the Jedi - basically the entire council was out in war and probably most masters too it was probably mostly Jedi knights, padawns and younglings in the temple - the only council member being Shaak Ti that we see in the deleted scene he just stabs in her mediation + he’s backed up by the 501st.
    I think the Temple was more a test of will of dark side for Vader rather than skill, Palpatine could easily take the temple without Vader when he has his own clone army.
    Hell, if Palpatine wanted he could have activated Order 66 at Geonosis making the Jedi there basically guaranteed to die fighting both Droids army, a surprise attack from the clone army, and Grevious + Dooku - Vader wasn’t needed to kill the Jedi they were kept around to be killed at the right moment when Palpatine could gain politically and to manipulate a new more powerful apprentice.

      I read somewhere before that Vader was just 40% of Anakin Full potential while Vader also 80% of Palpatine power. So if we go by number let's give Vader full potential 100 points that would make Vader 40-points and Palpatine 50 points. Which means if he reach his full potential Vader will twice stronger than Palpatine

    It seems to me Anakin Skywalker was very skilled in the Force ( the sf version of human pranotherapy) but very low in basic intellect.
    More Force he developed more he slow down to use his brain.
    He was unable to make clear decisions apart in combat as his dark mentor want.

      @Ignacio Muñoz Diaz 1. Anakin killed Padme. There is no canon footage of Sidious forcing Vader to force choke his own wife. I don't go by these comic re-writes.
      2. His own power hungry arrogance led him to fall for that crap. So he had a dream. There are so many other paths he could have taken to protect Padme. But he chose evil means to do it and being a Jedi, no good was gonna come out of it. He knew that.

      @Ignacio Muñoz Diaz Man stop yourself, Padme was a young, healthy soon to be mother of twins. Yes, she was devastated by what Anakin had become. But it was not a lack of will that choked her to the ground and caused her physical trauma. Lol.

But I think that's what makes luke special, and also makes what disney did with him that much more out of character. His dad actually killed children and he still believed he could be saved and didn't strike him down. Oh but he has one vision of kylo and tries to kill him 😒

So yeah you could say they're evil for that but I also believe the death star blowing up planets put more people potentially at risk. I.E there were possibly billions of people on alderaan that got blown up by a single shot. But basically I guess what I was saying is I see obi wan and yoda's point of view.

    So, the reason that Anakin went to the dark side, was to save his wife. She died anyway, and Vader eventually realizes Darth Sidious lied to him. His master, which he pledged his loyalty to, constantly physically and mentally attacked Vader. Vader's suit was horribly painful to wear it, and had lost some connection to the force, due to his injuries. Where does it end? Sidious himself led a pretty comfortable life, free of physical pain, wealthy, and obviously politically connected. Why didn't Sidious have to lead a life of misery and pain to maintain and grow his power in the dark side? He was apparently WAY more powerful than the "chosen one". I think these stories sometimes go to far in highlighting Vaders constant pain and misery. How and why would he continue this kind of life. Even though this is science fiction, you have to keep the story grounded enough to relate to the audience.

    • @AsreiMurasame
      @AsreiMurasame Před 5 měsíci

      He was never remotely close to Anakin. The only reason he was more powerful than Vader was because he made it so that the slightest touch of lightning could easily kill him.
      Palpatine says that Anakin would completely outclass him and Yoda together to Yoda. Plus I'm pretty sure Palpatine didn't bring two living entities/wills of the force to their knees just one of them could have demolished Palps, Anakin brought not one, but both of them down at the same time. Anakin in that moment on Mortis basically told both sides of the force to heel and it took a knee. Where as Obi Wan and Ahsoka together couldn't even as much as scratch their skin or influence them with the force.
