    As if your conversion weren't already enough to make this car better in every way to the stock ICE version, it's a REAL pleasure to see you young people avoid nailing a lousy infotainment screen to the dash board.🤣🤣 Even an OAP like me could drive this. There is NOTHING I dislike about this car as you've rebuilt it here! This is perfectly sized for nipping about Honolulu. All the new cars around here are those awful, character-less SUVs and MPVs that scarcely fit in either the car parks or the lousy roads. I bet our speed limits of mostly 35MPH would allow even this car to circumnavigate the whole 112-mile route around the eastern half of this island of O'ahu. What a great machine. Aloha to all of you out there.

      Absolute travesty what happened from the wildfires last year. Last thing I've heard was that there were thousands missing, an entire heritage town burned from the ground, a pity reply from Oprah and her flammable monoculture farms and hideously opportunistic real estate agents calling victims to flip their land for more tourist resorts and mansions

      @@randoawesomemix9501 Well...unless I open my mouth to speak... 🤣🤣 In truth, this place is perfect for a cyclist. That's why I'm content with having no cars anymore after decades in the slog of traffic all over the world. I'm over it... Besides, when the most-honourable stewards of our green planet start gunning for even EV drivers' car keys to "save" our world from ourselves...only pedestrians and cyclists might be spared. Maybe...

    This is how cars should be made nowadays.
    An electric kit and then you go out and find a shell of your choice.
    Coach builders would be back in business.
    You could even think of a 4 wheel chassis and roll bar with standard points for fixing body panels to it and you then go out and buy the panels for the type of car you want.

    Interesting kit. It'd make one of them a fair amount more peppy to drive, considering it's quadrupling the HP. Also thought it was funny how he was trying to demonstrate the shifter, but the camera cut to the shifter in the vehicle.

    Should the motor be 44kW, not 44kWh? KWh implies storage of energy which a motor isn’t capable of. :)

  • @psircos
    @psircos Před 22 dny +2

    I have to disagree im afraid. Why anyone would put a battery into a classic car like this, is beyond my understanding. Its not a classic 595, fiat 650, alfa twin cam, or anything else remotely similar, unless you get the sound of the ice and the smell from the carbs. This is just driving a retro toaster.
    EVs have their place. As i mostly drive within a 15miles radius for work, i would use one in a heartbeat. This though, this is sacrilegious

    • @RTDRalph
      @RTDRalph Před 22 dny +3

      Is it still sacrilegious when it's a bolt-in conversion?

    • @psircos
      @psircos Před 22 dny +1

      Well, I think this is a point of debate/discussion which will ware on for decades. Going by what is known, EVs are 'not' the saviours of the planet and the more that time passes, the more this appears to be true.
      In my view, appreciating fully that this is only my view , replacing a tiny petrol engine with a electric motor serves no purpose, other than the cost of this, to the supplier. If we take this wee car is particular, what's it going to do; 1000, maybe 1500 mls per year. Probably less! Almost all the fiat 500 or similar cars that attend Italian Day, for eg, have their cars on a trailer. So I ask again, what's the point?

    • @GregHighPressure
      @GregHighPressure Před 22 dny +2

      @@psircos slightly speculative conjecture perhaps..
      with the conversion why do you think it would be limited to 3-5 miles a day? with your 15 mile trip you would easily hit 3500+ and be capable of 10k easily.
      it will also go faster and quieter than the original.. parts will also now be easier to source when they are needed, but the failure rates are tiny compared to classic ice. :D
      An EV this small you could easily power of a very cheap small solar setup.
      15 miles will be only 4 kwh (and just 28p total on night tarrifs) 4kw of panels is only £600 right now, so just 1 hour of full sun!!

    • @psircos
      @psircos Před 22 dny +1

      😂....not speculative at all. I own an Italian car. I go to Italian car days/shows. People don't drive these things a great distance! One very small example...brakes are rubbish! You wanna go and make them faster?? So, not only are you paying for the electrification, you also want to upgrade everything else! These are NOT modern cars, but by electrifying them, you suggest they are more usable, which is not the case.
