In the sophomore episode of Stump Sohla, our titular hero is faced with her greatest challenge yet: composing a resplendent 7-course tasting menu entirely and exclusively from convenience store ingredients. Can she create the chef's table experience from what you'd find at your local gas station? Cue the cheesy music and fire up the dehydrator, because we're about to find out!

For me it was before that, when she was explaining chocolate tempering to Claire. She really knows her stuff.

The fact that Babish is now successful enough to hire other talent is mind blowing. I'm excited to see where else this channel can go.

@@dt52090 You think after the bon Appetit disaster someone's not going to pay SOHLA OF ALL PEOPLE?
@@dt52090 Considering she just left a job that wasn't paying her I'm pretty confident she wouldn't take another gig that would do the same thing. Babish has had sponsorships from freaking Bounty paper towels and has moved a couple of different times to accommodate his growing channel/collection of crazy cooking implements. I think he can afford to pay a new host. Especially one who people really like. Conde Nast fucked up royally with the BA SNAFU and Babish is taking advantage. I'm just bummed he probably won't be able to get the rest of them.

Oh I just looked her up from what you guys told me I figured she was a friend of his and he was helping her out. To be honest I litterally just watch the end I find this girl extremely boring and didnt look her up till you all said something
I knew Sohla was all that when she did a deconstructed and sweet-ish version of ....was it carbonara? I can't remember exactly. She foamed something. And she candied another part. And everyone else was like "you f*cking showed me up". And she did. By miles and years.

Sohla's comment on tasting menus: "it cost $600 and I got so drunk and angry. We got In and Out afterward," absolutely nails the tasting menu experience.
this is gonna sound real bad but drunk, mad sohla sounds kinda funny
That's why ya always have to pregame the tasting menu with a mcdouble

They always made her look like an assistant when she actually has more experience than the people she was assisting... lol what did you expect was going to happen? Glad she still on CZcams for us tho.
I never realized that but that is true. She was always only in the background and was only brought to help with small tasks like chopping vegetables or tempering something
Ranch DuBois no it also means she has more years and depth of experience.
And she would pop up in bin appetit videos and talk about topics none of the hosts understood. Had to be frustrating for her.
i realized this after the carbonara episode, where everyone wanted her to have her own show because of how talented and wholesome she is, but unfortunately, she was taken for granted.

He didn't get popular by making good content; it's because he's male and white? And because he's male and white, he doesn't deserve success, especially success on a platform they literally built? Wow, that's not bigoted at all.
Sohla got shafted at BA; no argument there. However, to say another person should get shafted for essentially the same reasons is backwards and misguided.
Babish put Sohla back on; why does Babish now need to be demonized for having said platform to begin with? You can't fight fire with fire; violence only begets more violence. Trying to fight bigotry with more bigotry is the exact opposite of progressive.
so pretty much Sohla is the yukihira cause she make such things which may look weird but somehow it works and its tasty, hopefully she doesn't make nasty food just to make inedible you know squid and honey

she is incredible and this video shows her insane skills. i hope they’re eating crow over at BA 🙃
At the rate they're going, they may not be able to AFFORD crow soon.
Unsubscribed from BA back when this nonsense came to light. I hope that Babbish and team can continue to grow and bring on more of the former BA personalities. Happy to see Sola is doing so great already!
The film deal was with conde nast, I'm pretty sure Sohla is still writing for the BA magazine.
“Im gonna make crackers out of crackers”- Sohla 2020
An elevated version of crackers 😎
So, Italians?
That's soh Sohla.
“Sheet of Twinkie”-
Sohla 2020
Annie Tran she also made twinkies out of twinkies.
I am SO GLAD to finally see a solo episode from Sohla. Long waited and WELL DESERVED!! Happy for you Sohla
This was magnificent. Sohla truly is such a skillful chef, she has such a fun personality. Great to have her on this channel.
finally, it doesn’t feel like Sohla is in the background, nor is she being under appreciated. we love you Sohla, you are a culinary genius and you deserve nothing less than to shine bright ✨
Babish: hey I bet you can't make a tasting menu out of bodega food
Sohla: hold my ceramic chickens
If there were any comment awards, you would win all of them!
okay the editors really got when w her saying the ramen smells really good 😂😂
This is my new favorite CZcams series. Her creativity and personality are so amazing.

Sohla: How are you doing?
Someone else: I'm doing great.
Sohla: I'm talking to the custards.
I was looking for this comment xD
I think it was Andrew 🤣🤣🤣
Just absolutely loved when Andrew said that he wasn't in a position of giving feedback to Sohla stating that she's a much more accomplished Chef. Loved it ❤️ lot of respect Babish
Andrew isn't a trained chef. I believe he's said his passion is actually film/TV and cooking is a "side" thing. Sohla, on the other hand, has been to culinary school.
I mean, it's not the first time he's done that. In the ricotta episode with Brad he said he's not a chef, the krabby patty contest with Alvin and Matty he said they were real chefs and he was a "jack-off with a camera", in a bunch of interviews he's dodged the title of "chef" etc.. He's a humble guy, he knows what he is and makes the most out of it.
Et He also said the same thing with brad and alvin which by your logic makes him simp for them too?
@@davidp.8998 et is a dingus, but who wouldn't simp for those lovely ones?
It's a weird dynamic. He basically hired a mentor, instead of being hired by a mentor. Dude is playing 3D chess.
This series is easily the most delightful thing I've watched in a VERY long time. Sohla you ROCK
just as I was thinking about how much I missed sohlas culinary genius this popped into my suggestions. I am so glad to see her flourish
God bless everyone involved in the production of this show because it’s given me back the hope that I lost when Bon Appetit went bust
@@torburwell188 A lot of the crew has requested that videos of them not be posted anymore and some of their crew have left BA. It says their last video was posted 3 months ago.
@@pleio5pilos148 does that mean no more claire and gourmet makes
@@senadbibanovic5326 If they start making videos again I guess it’s a possibility. I personally haven’t seen anything about Claire leaving videos but the channel is going to change a lot. Sohla obviously switched channels, and Gaby, Rick, Molly, Priya, Amiel, and Carla won’t be featured in the new videos.
senad bibanović Claire has only been freelance with BA since a few summers back when she resigned full time. She has made claims (albeit nothing concrete) that she has no intention of ever returning to CNE (condé nast) and any backlogged videos of her, she has revoked consent of airing.
Tor Burwell not really, most of the editors have resigned from video and are only working in the kitchen
“How are you doing”
“I’m doing ok”
“I’m talking to the custard”
“Ah oh”
Na Da pain.
alex4wood nothing but pain.
When did regurgitating lines from a video you just watched become the standard?
Trezayn Gounder about 3 years ago
@@akilh340 It's only missing the "person: phrase" format
Her mind is so powerful. The creativity is just so out of this world.
I Love how much fun Sohla had with preparing the tasting and I Love how delighted Andrew was with each dish. ❤️❤️❤️❤️ love your guys!!
I've never seen someone so chaotic and so in control at the same time...
