  • Established in 2009, Theatre Re is a London-based international ensemble creating thought-provoking and moving work. Its shows examine fragile human conditions in a physical style embracing mime, theatre and live music. Intimate collaborations with experts in different fields - such as science and public health - and various community groups throughout the devising process play a crucial part in the development of the final work.
Featuring specially composed live music and skillfully executed physicality, 'The Nature of Forgetting' deals with the inability of a man to recollect his life. The result of a collaboration with the Neuroscience Department at the University College of London and research into memory and amnesia, the show was also informed via workshops and interviews conducted with people living with dementia and their carers to create links between the science and the real human experience. Ultimately, the piece is not about dementia but the fragility of life and that eternal ‘something’ we all share which is left when memory is gone.
