Gabriel was mentioning Phoenix, Arizona specifically at the beginning because when the show came out Arizona was in the news about how immigration would stop random citizens that “looked foreign” and force them to identify themselves to prove they were American or had a green card or risk deportation, and realize no one has to carry identification in general so it was an uproar. It’s also why Sanchez was near crying when Gabriel said the bus was full of Mexicans and the one drive-by shouted, “He’s American!”

Gabriel Iglesias is another one of those memorable comedians that i got to meet at the comedy club several years ago. Here's a little inside info for you. Years ago Gabriel Iglesias did a joke about cake. The joke got pretty popular. And ever since it did, it became a thing for fans to bring a cake to the show, store bought or homemade. Some would bring pies, even though the joke was about cake. So what would end up happening would be that Gabriel would end up with dozens and dozens of cakes and pies by the end of the night. The poor guy loved it and hated it. It was almost impossible for him to ever lose weight because everyone bringing delicious cakes and treats. The best part about it though, was there was no way he could eat all of them, so he would pick one or 2 for himself and then give the staff at the club their choice of cakes or pies at the end of the night. So I am happy to admit that I ate one of Gabriel's homemade chocolate cakes and I'm pretty sure a pie, though I can't remember what kind of pie at the moment. 🤪

I had a Doctors appointment one time so took the bus from LC to Alamo! Had my small back pack and bus only runs every 3 hours so had my lunch in there! We got stopped at check point where they brought on dog! Headed straight for my backpack bet they thought they had something nope just a pair of burritos that the dog wanted that canceled the rest of the search!

When I worked on a ranch by white sands we had to lay pipe on the government land we leased to put in tanks and drinking troughs so we could run cattle and got BLM approval! It was a hour from city and another hour through the off road! Noticed a border patrol vehicle following us so we sped up to make them do the whole trip and did not stop till we got to work site seems BLM did not tell them we would be there! The ranch foreman used to chew out the Border Patrol at the checkpoint also! Seems they got stuck and busted his pipes another time he got accused falsely of going around them when no way he could just go check the fencing! You would have to run over it or cut it down!

Can't stand Arizona. Got a speeding ticket in '89. Cop said I could take a defensive driving course and send in 35 bucks and wouldn't have to appear in court. I went in last month to renew my license and they had that as a failure to appear and blocked my license renewal. They made me pay another 10 bucks to clear the block.

I know Indigenous people have a history with the RCMP here in Canada, but other than that, we don’t have the whole “bring a white friend to talk to the cops” thing. It’s so weird to me. If they’re profiling anyone, it’s teenagers. When I was in high school, my buddy, who was also white, always got pulled over. Maybe the fact that he drove an 81 Honda Civic with a Cherry Bomb exhaust might not have helped. A teenager in an Asian import (especially a coupe or hatchback) would always get you pulled over. I didn’t drive a 2 door until I was in my 20s. My first car was a Chrysler New Yorker. With velour seats. I wish they’d bring those back. My back hurts.

You only have to give I'd or any information. If you are lawfully arrested. There is some states that say there stop and id state but even them can only force identification is with probable cause of a crime even that can be contested in supreme court
You can be over 60 miles from border and they have checkpoints! Maybe they should be on the BORDER! A lot of them have headquarters in rural towns like Alamogordo a racist GOP stronghold! When you see 50 cars at their HQ the local auto shops get their business! NM school for the blind there too and they got a project being done there all the time at taxpayer expense!
Uhhh, NO! Law enforcement is not allowed to demand ID until, and unless, a crime has been committed. Even though the Supreme has ruled that immigration checkpoints are legal within 100 miles of the border, out Constitutional rights are still intact. We do not have to answer any question or provide ID. If you think you have provide ID to a cop whenever they ask for it, you are part of the problem.

Oh no immigration at the checkpoint there harrasses everyone. As I white truck driver being asked if I'm an American by a Mexican officer while in the US, seems perfectly normal right. My codriver thought it would be nice to reply, "Are you?". Let me tell you they don't have a sense of humor.
