Sora is a main character, side character, narrator, youtuber, debunker, weeb, and teacher all in one. He is too OP... o.o
He is also the American, the cringe, the father, the anime character.
he's your mom too
@@icebeamz1906no my child for that is us.
Indeed too OP.
no he is average Good for nothing cringe character 😊😉
edit: i wrote his instead of he is lol Lol
Once upon a time I was a Math loving Asian but then I learned how much I actually hated Math and just became a nurse 💀
lmao by once upon a time do you mean like high school

@Chris Heartwhat is wrong with you?

Sora was right about the single-digit problems, I just asked my friend in Japan what 1x1 is and he answered immediately.
WOW! He is indeed smart. I need atleast 5 minute to calculate that.
wait, what's the answer?
@@heyitspixl I'm still calculating...
I owed $28.55 at the grocery store. I gave the checkout girl $30.00 in cash. She tried to give me $5.05 in change. I gave it back and told her to give me $1.45 instead.
Young Australian people are really, really bad at maths.
@@andymanaus1077 I work as a casino dealer, so if I did that I’d probably be fired lol, we’re not allowed to make any mistakes.
I used to be a nerd and do four and five digit multiplication mentally for fun, so when I see Americans struggle with 4x7 I have no idea what’s going on lol
Sora is starting to become the Japanese mythbuster.
No good
its honestly a really good niche for him to fiil because he has a great understanding of english language (being an english teacher) and also a great understanding of boh japanese and non-japanese culture
No! It will destroy weebs dream!
He needs to recruit a Lobster first. Or was it a Walrus?
If i was in japan and was asked in English "are you lost because you're dumb?" I'd be so happy
Today I realized that not only has TheTroll-san developed several trademark catch-phrases like "hey, you" and "you fkin weeb," he also developed a running gag: "your zipper's open."
I am deeply ashamed that it took me so long to realize this.
Sora is the Japanese Ryan George.
@@C6BD Ryan George is TIGHT!
Um... probably shouldn't have said that last part. Oh, whoops! Whoopsie!
On a more serious note: in a previous Sora-The-Troll video, I commented that he was like three of my favorite CZcamsrs rolled into one, Ryan George being one of them. You know, 'cuz he does comedic sketches where he plays every character. The other two were UK expatriate Lawrence Brown of "Across the Pond," and the quirky musical phenom Bill Wurtz.
WHAT!?
@@dreamer1292 Yeah-yeah-yeah!
3:42 If anything I would be surprised of a country that doesn't have one digit multiplications taught to students in elementary school.
In Italy, I had to memorize the whole thing from 1x1 to 10x10 in second grade as well.
That said, lots of people still suck at it even if they made us study it, lol
in china we had to memorize 12x12
@@jackblad4047 we do up to 12x12 in Australia too
@Chris Heartits not funny for people to die..
I'm american and we had to memorize up to 12x12 in 3rd grade.
We did this in Turkey as well. It's called the multiplication table.
The fact that in one of the scenarios the guy believed he couldn't survive in Japan because he couldn't speak or read Japanese, but then gets mad when someone implies he can't and goes back to speaking Japanese is fucking funny
Just want to confirm number 4 I visited Japan as an American tourist not understanding any Japanese at the time (cringe) but everyone was super helpful and a lot of the signs and stuff had English words to help. Even in restaurants with no pictures on the menu we just pointed at random things to eat and all was well lol. Some people even approached us to practice English with us because we were obviously American and it’s not easy to hide that there.
Oh you're American? Do you wear denim or suits?
@@URMyNewTVdenim suits
@@private755 lol Perfect! Nothing like eating burgers for every meal in a denim suit. :)

Never fails to make me laugh with each video.
As an outsider learning the Japanese language myself, I’ve grown accustomed to learning what normal Japanese people go through on a regular day, while I haven’t been to Japan, I have let go of the false info from the video a very long time ago.
@Chris Heartwhat
@@nik021298 Ignore them, they're just a lifeless troll who has nothing better to do than be ignorant and spread hate and I believe they've been blocked and had their comments removed.
That "はい お前!" Sora can show up anywhere out of nowhere in these videos. I wish he could show up out of nowhere if I made mistakes.
I speak 0 Japanese and I had an absolute blast in Japan when I went last month. Everyone I interacted with was very understanding and tried their best to help me.
I really want to move there one day so I'm now trying to learn it to get to a N2 level.
Its super rewarding too. I was able to play games i couldnt when i didnt know japanese since there wasnt an english release, it felt worth it when i slowly tried them out one by one. Its still a difficult process though and i can see why many people give up
I live in Okinawa now and I love watching your videos for hilarious Japanese knowledge and vocab, keep it up Sora!
The one about math suprised me quite a bit. I'm from Italy and I remember back in elementary school we memorized something called "tabelline" (roughly translates to "small tables"), which consisted of every multiplication between any number lower than 11. So for example the "tabellina del 7" would go 7x1=7, 7x2=14, 7x3=21, and so on up to 70 with the same pattern on the other single digit numbers (and 10). We also used to practice the four operations a lot, even with very large numbers.
Same in Ireland! ✖️➗
I think that's common, multiplication tables for small numbers etc
I love this educational channel.
Sora went full 名探偵 mode debunking every fake absurd rule in Japan.
You really had to put that kanji there... 酷い
I know it's coming but I still laugh every time Sora goes HEY YOU!!!!
finally sora got the revenge on the other sora and called him cringy
What Kingdom Hearts reality is this?
4:34 Killed me as i read the subtitles XD honestly he could be pulling a filthy frank for all i know.
I enjoy this man's informative and comedic videos. Keep up the good work, Sora!
I love these videos Sora, they are so helpful, thanks again
I believe I've heard people in Japan wearing masks for fashion reasons before, but wearing a mask just to hide one's face does lean towards an insecurity about one's looks.
In the US, specifically in my case, wearing a mask is done because you are sick, but still need to do things outside your home. If someone wears something to cover one's face, it's generally not a mask, but a bandana or a gaiter. Bandana's worn in more populated areas does sometimes raise suspicions (rural areas, bandanas maybe part of the fashion, but aren't normally used as face coverings even there), while gaiters are more used to help keep warm during colder months.
This is why I find the addition of a medical mask on West Virginia's retrofit in Azur Lane as very, very odd (West Virginia is an "American" character, and I've already mentioned Americans generally don't wear a mask unless they're sick, or fear getting sick (despite not actually helping illness prevention in that way), basically never for fashion).
Number 3 does ring somewhat true for me, despite not having any Asian ancestry (afaik). I was homeschooled, and my mother nailed into me to memorize a lot of the single-digit multiplication tables. Though, I largely had to teach myself English... That was an experience, despite it being my first language.
Number 4... If you plan to live in another country, it really should be a no-brainer that you should understand and speak the language of the locals. This is a rule for any country, not just Japan.
And as for the "generalize" bit at the end; a lot of people would be nervous of some random person walking up to them, even if to just ask for directions, foreigner or not.
P.S. Keep it up, Sora, you're doing great with these kinds of videos.
You fucking weeb
I've watched two of Sora's videos, and I'm now a subscriber. The videos are entertaining and informative. While there are a lot of US, UK, Canadian, and other foreign CZcamsrs making videos about Japan, I really appreciate the videos made by actual Japanese CZcamsrs.
Another awesome video!
I love this kinds of videos! Thanks a lot Sora-san for the interesting videos, they're the best!
kono WEEB GA caught me by surprise well done LOL
Those videos are so funny and informative! Especially the end!
I was waiting for Sora to upload, thank you Sora
I love that you always end your videos the same way.
Whaaa-
Awesome swap at the end. Love it. And thanks for all your awesome educational and entertaining videos. ^^
Learning one video at a time, thanks, Sora. Great things to know before actually going to Japan.
I love the mix up at the end.
I wish I could like this video twice lol! thanks for uploading!!

The hilariously delivered information gets me every time! I should be taking notes in preparation for my trip in November. 😂😅😂
Thank you, Sora. 💰💗
Speaking of being able to survive without Japanese, a long time ago when I was in Osaka, my family got lost but we were helped by a Chinese-speaking person
I began to believe that I have a better chance at surviving in Japan with Chinese than with English
This can definitely be true depending on the area. You also have the advantage of understanding the character set to some extent, if you learned them. Most of the meanings are the same, or at least intuitive.
@@krynnythyeah often pronunciation won't match but the meaning is somewhat there right?
@@bonaaq86 yeah, pretty much. Without understanding grammar, you'll lose a lot of context, but at least you get a rough idea of the topic and most nouns.
@@bonaaq86 This is exactly why Vietnam and Korea should go back to using Chinese characters...
@@j-twd930Except neither of them want to. Korea switched because fitting Chinese characters onto Korean made no sense and was hard for the average citizen to learn, and Vietnam just hates China.
Your videos are wonderful! So much fun, and I learn stuff, so it doesn't suck to be me.
Ooooh, Did not expect the twist at the end and the twist after that.
Omg great video! Keep it up, you're gonna go far! 頑張ってくだ さい!
another banger sora 感謝感謝
About the tipping:
Yes people can get mad and they definitely will be confused. I tried it once for testing but it was rejected. It really creates an akward situation and shakes the foundation of the Japanese believe system.
Thanks for helping Mr understand Japan better. 👍 I appreciate the content.
The very last frame of the video is excellent
Love your videos Sora😅
I would love to be a friend of this man. He seems cool and he’s entertaining . Thanks for the informative content
I’m moving to beppu or Tokyo next year so watching this is very informative
I love this series so much!!😂
2 videos in sequence of another sora roasting the other sora that used to say: sad to be you" thanks for always.
Sora! I love your sense of humor 😂😂
the single digit multiplication song is also taught in Chinese schools as well! I learned it in grade 2 and even now when I multiply I recite verses from that song lol
So I just had a trip to Japan this summer, and while it's true that as a tourist you can get around pretty easily without knowing any Japanese, knowing at least a LITTLE bit of it will make your trip much more enjoyable. I feel like the locals are a lot friendlier with you if you know at least a little bit of Japanese. You don't have to be conversational, or be able to read kanji, but being able to order food or ask for directions is super helpful. I just did a few months of Duolingo, really.
Omg just discovered your video this morning and I'm hooked 😄 seriously you sound just like anime characters 😂
the more i watch , the more i love this guy content😂
Hey that comeback at the end is what we've been waiting for.. how many videos already?
That was awesome.👍 😆😆😆 Good job Sora Take care!
I'm not the first to say it and I won't be the last, but the "WHA-" at the end of your videos makes me laugh every single time. Thank you for your amazing content, Sora!!
Sora, your content just keeps getting better and better. In other words: From Suupa Saiyajin to Suupa Saiyajin Goddo. 😉
Lot of truth in this video!! I spent 5 years living in 東京と橫濱 and couldn't get over the shyness part. General folks know and understand a lot of English but are incredibly shy to speak it.
I'm all in for this mythbusting arc.
All these myths have been discussed before by the other English-speaking Japanese CZcamsrs. It's just that Sora San made it concise and funny.
1:20 I kinda want to go to Japan just for this rule. I usually try to wear a pull-up mask during the winter because my face gets cold, but here in the states, I’ve scared a shit ton of people due to my favorite winter clothes, which is me basically cosplaying Alex Mercer with Aiden Pierce’s mask.
One of the projects I could've done for my senior (last) year of high school was to continue support for a website the last year's seniors had designed that was multiplication and division tables for elementary schoolers, to streamline their process. I think the part about Japanese curriculum is the rigor. For context, I was going through a specific computer science program for all of high school, and senior year was actual app development.
1:10 I was channeling my energy to unleash the infamous 「この無知が!」.. But I got bamboozled so hard.
Glad that sora is now fighting back
i like how the 1st thing he checked him about was tipping, and not "hah you my, your zipper is down, you weeb!"
i get the mask thing. i wore it before 2019 here in america to not get sick or get others sick during flu season, but i really liked how it hid my face. i still like wearing my mask for both reasons.
2:00 This probably comes about because Europeans actually do get pissed at you for trying to tip, so a lot of Americans who travel overseas have experience getting chewed out for tipping
Not sure where you get that from, though you are indeed generalizing "Europeans" the same way a lot of non-Asians generalize Japanese people.
3:52 To my awareness, I have no bit of Asian blood within my father's family. And my father is a math wizard, enough to get accepted to extremely high ranked schools which value the skill, down to quantum physics level of ability.
I'd be around something extremely familiar, in this case, if or when I ever visit Japan.
HAI YO MAI will always be rent free in my head before it even appears
The new ending was satisfying. Reflect! 🛡
Bro, that editing them some wild filters.
3:25 we also have that song in Spain and learn it at school, practice calculations, etc. Yet most of us suck at math anyway 🥲
5:32 There are introverts, ambiverts and extroverts everywhere. Maybe Japan has this "generic introverts feeling". But I've also heard that Osaka people are more extrovert. In my country there are more "extrovert states" and "introvert states", if this makes sense.
Been to Japan this week. I can confirm that it is easy to navigate Japan even if you know little Japanese. Google maps and already translated signs are helpful, but also almost all of the Japanese I asked are very kind while knowing some English.
perfectly cut wha-
is the perfect outro XD
Well been to Tokyo twice and love it
That's the summary of the last live stream Sora had.
“You f**kin weeb!” absolutely killed me. 😂
I'm more impressed this video doesn't have linked videos or click this video junk at end that block viewing the end of it.
I love how those videos now have their own lore sort of thing. We need the black shirt guy to have his own videos
3:31 we also have a song for multiplication in Egypt but we start learning them by second/third grade
Sora-san we do have google translate but you have already helped us figure out how much "troll-y" it is
The ending is always the best part
I swear the end of his videos are absolutely worth watching
That ending cut was godlike
Have you voice acted any characters for an anime? I feel like I've heard you voice before, and now I'm curious. I'm learning Japanese myself and a few of your videos have helped me memorise a few extra words into my vocab (also my kanji knowledge still sucks)
KONO WIBU GAAA! 😂😂😂
Sora successfully insulted billion weebs indirectly!
Thanks for this kind contents as always!
You deserve more subs. Lets road to 5 million!
Q: Is there really a disciplinary Committee in high school in Japan that has a mysterious long-black haired girl as its chairman and holds convoluted and intricate power in the school's affairs?
Maybe. Seems a bit specific ðough.
@@danielantony1882more like "you know how little that narrows it down" lol
No. Disciplinary comittee chairmen are not as exagerrated Irl. What ðe hell do you even mean by "holds convoluted and intricate power in ðe school affairs"? @@bonaaq86
I'm curious, but the voices in my head are shouting at me NOT to look this up...
I will never forget your voice acting in "KJ's Final Ride"
I genuinely thought the tipping thing was true. thank you for blessing me with education ;o;
In spain we also have those "Multiplying Tables" that we have to memorize. Of course, not evryone does though. I particularly remember having problems with the 7 and 8 multiplications.
I think number 4 is for tourist to make sure they didn't get scammed at tourist spot, other than that it all makes sense
Thank you Sora san 😂😂😂😂
HE FINALLY GOT A COMEBACK IN. YEERRRRR.
About multiplication table, in Morocco we have the same thing, everyone can easily answer a one digit multiplication, and even sometimes of two or three digits
Sora, this has got to be one of your best videos so far.
Just a question: Does the Japanese langauge use teen numbers equivalent to the English names: Eleven, Twelve, Thirteen etc. or does it use the same structure as numbers from twenty onwards in English; i.e. Ten-one, Ten-two, Ten-three etc.? I ask because studies seem to show that countries whose languages use the second type are better at maths in general.
Yes.
2 days Tokyo experience - really everywhere there are signs in two languages, every restauration I went "from the street" had english menu, people even if can't speak english they understand and often try to show something with hands and are very keen to help. At this moment I am amazed by Japan, most by Enoshima at this moment.
