a moment of respect for the translator! she's so professional!!
Yes, absolutely!
I agree! Not to mention, she has a pretty good memory. The Singer gave very long answers and she was able to hold all that in her head and translate.
@@TheBloodVodka exactly my reaction! she didn't blink despite the singer didn't make it easy for her.. yet she was so comfort
@@TheBloodVodka Yeah exactly what I was talking. I think I could never remember all the things they said
She’s not only a translator, but also the head of whole Ukraine’s delegation on Eurovision for many years.
William handled this interview the best way possible. Serious yet still asking about Eurovision in a very subtle way. He's not ignoring the big elephant in the room of course but he isn't taking advantage of the dramatic situation for views. Well done William, journalists like you are hard to find these days
Thank you so much for watching and commenting. I really appreciate it.
I just thought the same. A very professional interview, respecting the occasion, the art and music, but recognising the gravity of this world event we all have to face together as it affects everyone. We can't ever imagine what these artists are passing through. Well done.
This is one of the most meaningful interviews that I can relate to during all these years I’ve been following Eurovision. Amazing work Wiwi, William, Oksana and Kalush Orchestra. The world is beside you. Slava Ukraini! 🇺🇦
Thank you for watching and commenting. Kalush Orchestra and Oksana are doing such important work 🙏🏻
@@Wiwibloggs ❤
Slava Ukraini 🇸🇪😢🙏🏻❤️🇺🇦
This is why Wiwi is the most respected out of all the fansites - they can change their approach as necessary depending on who they're talking to, and William is smart enough to treat Kalush Orchestra very seriously, seeing as their ability to appear at events like these, let alone Eurovision, carries a lot more weight than just another act. I remember seeing clips of Fazla doing press at Eurovision 1993 and I don't know how seriously people were discussing the war in Bosnia with them when that was a focal point of their whole song, so I'm glad William knows that asking questions about a sensitive subject isn't overstepping or bringing the mood down. It's necessary, and it'd probably be really insulting to just do another cheerful interview and completely ignore the situation in Ukraine.
Thank you so much for these words 🙏🏻💛💙
Slava Ukraini! Hugs from Portugal! Stay strong!! ❤
Geroyam slava! 💙💛
Thank you for your support!
Slava Ukraini, never lose your hope, there's a saying here in Greece whenever a war had occured which states "Freedom Or Death". Let that be the embodiment of your efforts! Our prayers are with you. 🇬🇷❤🇺🇦
Geroyam slava! 💙💛
What a dignified group; even in times like this, they are not calling Russians names but instead don’t wish on anyone to experience the bloodshed that Ukraine is going through now. I wish the Russian trolls would learn from this and give up on pushing Putler’s lies.
Being an interpreter must be hard, her memory is great😳
So cool interview, thank you William 💙💛
Thank you for watching! 🇺🇦
I can't express how happy I am to see them here, huge respect to them and to you William, you are such an amazing interviewer and person. I really wish Kalush Orchestra the best and I'm sure they did and they do their country proud. It's still in these times so important to keep and bring positivity and to keep seeing positive things as well. Love to Ukraine from Belgium 🇧🇪❤🇺🇦
the interpreter is so professional 🧑⚕️
Thank you William for a wonderful interview!
I watched it with tears in my eyes. I really want to feel the joy of Eurovision, but it is very difficult now.
I’m really grateful to Kalush that they will represent Ukraine at the song contest. This is super important now. People should see that Ukrainian music and culture are unique and interesting. Ukraine exists. Ukraine will exist💙💛
Still try to enjoy the contest. It's such a beautiful event that brings country's together and Kalush really want to give something positive back to their country
@@sannev8407 thank you so much 💙💛
Thank you Tammy 🇺🇦 💙 💛
Excellent interview, William, I love kalush and kalush orchestra and have his music on repeat all the time. They're all hugely talented. The boys' faces are literally breaking my heart today. I feel so badly for Ukraine I can't muster much enthusiasm for the contest this year, but they will show Putin nobody brings Ukraine down. Best of luck, lads ❤️
You can feel bad for Ukraine and still really enjoy the contest. It's also a really important event, to spread awareness, but also to have fun and show your music, and like they said, to represent your country.
Thank you Marie. I totally relate to what you say. Seeing the pain in their eyes was heart breaking.
@@sannev8407 I can, but I am not. I'm sorry if my personal feelings bother you.
Kalush Orchestra, Оксана - гордість за них!
We are always with our Ukranian siblings! Slava Ukraini!!!! Spain and Spanish citizens are helping and are with you!! We love you!
Muchisimas gracias por su ayuda! ❤️🩹❤️🩹❤️🩹
This is a great interview, William. You have an admirable ability to speak respectfully and sensitively during this time. You can see the hurt in their eyes and it's devastating to see. But it's so important that Kalush Orchestra are out there and representing Ukraine on such a huge platform. The world knows what's going on and we are all paying attention. Sending Ukraine love from Australia.
William, THANK YOU. Thank you so much for your respect and empathy. This interview is beautiful because is sincere. You are a professional; it shows.
Thank you so much, Lunairetic. I have so much respect for them making it to The Netherlands to share their story.
Congrats to the interpreter, even though I do not speak Ukrainian, she seems super professional and passionate about her job. Wow.
Ihor Didenchuk can travel in time, that's how he learned to play all these traditional instruments. Go_A, Kalush Orchestra, the Beatles, Pink Floyd, it all makes sense now.
Glory to Ukraine 🇺🇦
Героям Слава !!
My heart is for the Ukrainians
Thank you❤
So happy and proud to see Kalush taking part in these events and Eurovision, this song feels so important now. Heads off to William for doing a great interview, like always. Stay strong Ukraine, we are all with you and hope for the best, Slava Ukraini 💙💛
William, so much love to you ❤️ I wish to see you back in Ukraine at the Vidbir 🇺🇦
We hope to return to Ukraine in the near future to celebrate peace ☮️ 💙💛🇺🇦
it's very good to talk about these real things that are happening in the world, not just only about Eurovision! Great interview guys!
Thank you William for both a thoughtful and pointed interview. My heart hurts for Ukraine.
I share your heart ache :( I am glad we could have a direct conversation slightly removed from the main press room.
Ukraine really have a good, unique song. One of my favourites❤❤
Such a respectful interview, thank you Wiwibloggs
William. Thank you for an amazing interview that asks the right questions.
Stefania winner, love
Be brave like Ukraine 🇺🇦❤️
Thanks William for this good interview. I imagine that was not easy due to the horrible circumstances in Ukraine. Let the music make us free!!
Just tuned in and wow, EXCELLENT first question (great job William!), and what an answer! Yes, nobody in this world should see what the Ukrainians are currently seeing. Period.

Good job William!
Good interview Wiliam. Respect!
HEYYY i just noticed that that’s Ihor from Go_A!!! nice to see you back guy, we love u!!!
I must say, the first time I feel the translator is doing a good job. I cannot tell whether she really convey all precisely and complete but she appears to be professional, speaks fluently and conveying the content in a concise way. Makes the interviews not so hanging as usual if you need an interpreter.
Indeed, she translated precisely and complete
another wonderful & thoughtful interview William 💙💛
Thank you, Lavendah! 💙💛💙💛
Charismatic and talented young men. I'm sure they'll do well in Turin.
Victory in 2022 of the Kalush Orchestra is completely deserving. They are the best . They proved it in the opening show of Eurovision Final 2023.
Go_Ukraine .Kalush you are the best , love you guy's You are the number One. Glory for Ukraine and they Heroes Thank you to all of you.

This is the first time that a translator was needed. In the past, no translator was seen. This is sad but so good. Nice job William
It's sad that many Ukrainian even young people don't know English, unfortunately.
Спасибо за интервью. Спасибо за поддержку..

Simultaneous translation is a veeeryy difficult thing, and I've seen many interviews with Oksana, and she is doing a great double job! A head of the Ukrainian delegation and the clear and professional translator at the same time. Wow! I doubt I would do it better even as I'm a native speaker of Ukrainian language.

I am a fan them right now
Will there be a live stream??
I know that's not the original Carpetman (Kylymmen) as he is now fighting on the front against Russia but I saw the uncovered face of Carpetman for the first time. And for me that's a shock. But in a good way 😅

Where did you get information that someone wants Ukraine not to exist? The goals of operation are absolutely different
Putin fans must exit Eurovision interviews and CZcams in general. Any people that support the war are not welcome here. And yeah, calling the war operation is equal to supporting the war.
@@masia6255 tell it to yourself first, for you're supporting shelling of Donetsk civilian areas by ukrainian soldiers and don't call it "war", you call it "anti-terrorist operation"
Замечательная переводчица!
The translator is super acurate!
Hey it's the flute dude in Go_a

So clear to recognise the identity of the ukrain people.
Unbelievable that the Russian people do not see and respect that.
Ukrain will always remain a strong nation. Makes me remember the Polish folks in their fight. Never give up. In prayer , songs and , which was not their choice, fight, I barely dare to wish them strength, as they already showed it so much. Most of all my wishes for a good future and healing of all wounds.🕊

Ukraine is the big favorite to win the Eurovision Song Contest. However, it is unclear whether the competition can be held in the war-torn country, if Ukraine wins the competition. That is why the City of Stockholm now offers to hold the competition, says Councilor for Finance Anna König Jerlmyr to TV4 Nyheterna.

Why are they favourites to win? Clearly their music isn't winning any prizes..
What about talking about the artists? Not to be unsensitive but poor Kalush Orchestra because they are being treated like ambassadors instead of musicians.
I wish they can show their song music on the finnal but I hope they dont win the contest this year as eurovision would be involved with political, wouldnt be fair for the other singers...I personally don't like much the song although.
Again after Goa no English language at all? :/
Sorry but I cant get over the fact Alina was disqualified, and this guys hated the selection then to accept the invitation to go to Eurovision. Alina would be well deserved winner of Eurovison and this song now is just overrated!
You r right. They should not be there..
Overrated for you, I love it

Alina forged documents to participate thus commited a crime.

Ukrainian people and soldiers are dying in Ukraine and they are touring around Europe and participating at the music festival. 👏🏻👍🏻
They are spreading awareness about Ukraine. Their mission is as much important as fighting on a battlefield.
And you are in your nice home in Holland behind a computer spitting judgments without knowing nothing...Shame on you.
....And?
By touring around Europe they are keeping alive Ukraine as a country and the identity of their people/citizens. In case you don`t know there are many fronts to be fought in a war not only military but cultural and on other levels. It`s astounding how some individuals like you are so narrow-minded or maybe....you just a Putin crab coming on chat under "Metalec" pretending to care about ukrainian people and soldiers just to make way to take a dig and provoke unrest by instilling opinion division with your tw*t views and comments.
@@cathalsheehan9596And they should withdraw., out of respect for those tens of thousands killed civilians and soldiers. These guys in particular, should go and fight instead of touring for the music festival.
