  • After 2 years I am finally selling my 2002 Mercedes CLK430 Convertible with only 67000 miles. It's been an awesome car and really the perfect car for Hawaii.
    The Mercedes CLK430 has 275 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque.
    The Mercedes CLK430 gets 18 mpg city and 24 mpg highway. I averaged between 22 and 22.5
    The CLK 430 has staggered AMG wheels that are bigger in the back
    The CLK430 convertible has a small but practical trunk.
    CLK problems, or specifically CLK430 problems include the convertible top pulley's get stripped and need to be replaced unless you don't mind giving the top a nudge. The A/C unit is great but doesn't hold refrigerant past 6 months anymore
    Overall, the CLK cabrio looks and drives awesome, is cheap to buy and own and turns heads everywhere it goes.
    The Fast Lane with Joe Tunney.

    Still looks fantastic. Quite honestly I think a lot of the 2000s sports cars are actually just as nice, if not nicer, than the current models. Lot of them aged like fine wine.

    Gorgeous Car. I'm currently in the market for a W208 CLK430 or CLK55 AMG. I'm actually wanting a cabrio. I had a very nice black manual 98 BMW 328i Convertible that I bought in spring 2015 with about 55k miles on it. I sold it to my best freind who is a jet mechanic in winter 2020 with 127k miles on it. I had no issues with it all besides a secondary air pump replacement and all the upgrades I did. I did have to fix the top a couple times but with my freinds help it's easy. He still owns and drives the car and now it has 200k miles on it as he uses it as a daily. These V8 CLK's are deff some of the most realible cars Mercedes ever made. They are equal to the realible inline 6 BMW's like my 328i from the 90's. I actually found the Super Clean 2001 CLK430 I am ready to buy in Florida. It only has 53k miles and it is in aesthetically excellent condition. It only has 8 service records though and the only thing that has been replaced "according to the Carfax" is the tires. Is this something I should be concerned about?? I would be interested to know what you think having the exact same car I am currently trying to buy!!

    • @everycarSeattle
      @everycarSeattle  Před 4 lety

      I've had every kind of car there is...but remember, as a buyer I hate losing money. If you add up every buy/sell of every car I've ever had in my life, plus the 10 or 12 cars I've bought for my wife, I am at +3300 lifetime if I sell both of my current cars for zero. Most people lose thousands on one car just driving it home from the dealer. I never lose money because the deal and the quality of the individual purchase is more important than what kind of car I drive. But we have had a Landcruiser and GX470 along the way and I can tell you firsthand how awesome they are...especially when it comes to resale value...but good luck finding either in Hawaii.
