during the Olympics, the pool turned green because of algae or something similar, and in this video the pool water is still blue :)

Lots and lots of training and a really strict diet
@@lelekos9103 I think he wants something more specific, why this sport in particular requires this physique? Runners aren't as fit as these guys for example.
Runners focus strictly in stamina. These guys need muscle power
@@paulosouza449 they dont need power, the need complete control over all their relevant muscle groups. So the definition comes from cardio and good eating, plus flexibility training, a lot of static exercises. Too much muscle hurts the things they excel at.

The more important thing is culture, where elegance and economy in movement are emphasized. In East Asian cultures, such as the kung fu, the one that exerts the most strength but done so in the quietest manner and with the least movement is treasured. Whereas in Western culture, well...
