- In the early 2010s, Samsung phones running Android were bundled with an UI known as TouchWiz. When Android 5 was rolled out to Galaxy devices, TouchWiz had an overhaul. In this video you will see a UI comparison of Android 4.4 and 5!
The Android 4.4 screenshots were captured from a Galaxy S4, while the Android 5.0 screenshots were captured from a Galaxy S5.

Touchwiz 4.4 seems better. Because it had Dark mode. And it looked more consistent according to me

The boot animation depends on the device model, not the OS, for example the galaxy tab e is on 4.4 but has a different boot animation
it depends on the ui actually. most devices that came with android 4.4.2 had the s5 animation, but the galaxy s4, s4 mini, tab 3 or note 3 still had the s3 animation

When my Galaxy S4 updated to Android 5.0, i was very confused when everything looked different. I hated it at first, but quickly learned to accept it 👍
The S4 I9505 had a hybrid of both UIs. It used the older multitasking home screen app drawer.

For me, TouchWiz from the Galaxy S6 was the best one. It was way more colorful and optimized than the one from the S5.
Never tried it but it does look way better

I have a Samsung note 3 updated from Android 4.3 - 5.0
Do note that some models, e.g. SM-G318H have the 5.0 animation with android 4.4.

Bada OS was cool for the time. I even wanted the Wave 3, must been discontinued because I couldn't find much info on it.

samsung actually added a flat design with android 4.4.4, but stock android didn't get a flat design until 5.0

The theme on the right is actually the same in 4.4 and 5.0 but 4.4 doesn't have S health, A camera button on the lock screen, S Music, Voice Recorder, S Finder, Quick Connect, Auto Brightness and Internet. Thats android 4.4 on my SM-T561, I don't know about any other device
And the one on the left is android 3
the right one is android 5 from samsung s5, idk why its different from s6, and the left one is android 4.4 from samsung s4 (samsung switched to white background in android 5)
Fact: Some android 5 devices got no S Health. Even if its touchwiz

There is a big theme change in Android 5.0. Android 4.4 has more Aero style, than the Android 5.0 that have more Metro style. Altrough i love them both.

i remember using Samsung Galaxy S4 and Grand Prime with both 4.4 and 5.0 TouchWiz's
the nostalgia sadly neither of these work anymore
I still have an S4, it has had 5.0 for a long time but then I put LineageOS on it for Android 11.

You have made a mistake. This is TouchWiz Android 4.2/4.3 vs. 4.4 and not 5.0.
nope cuz in android 4.4.2 it was dark theme without light theme unlike in 5.0
also in android 4.2.2 and 4.3 the status bar has colors
