    I've just ordered the GG-B100 Mudmaster with the khaki green strap, red sensor on the side, gold computer button and yellow accents on the dial. An absolute tank of a watch that will take punishment. I originally had a Fenix 6 Pro Solar, but got fed up with the constant charging and the fact my wrist was having a reaction the the strap. I love the features of the Mudmaster, the carbon core guard structure and the engineering that has gone into the watch is exceptional. I don't mind having to change the battery every few years, pedometer along with other sensors and features is great.

      Yeah the whole charging aspect is a bit of a pain for sure I bet and it will definitely handle whatever you through at it. Enjoy the new watch.

    The Mudmaster is a beast of a watch. And your size comparison is hilarious. I also find it humorous that some reviewers (not you) will decry a 44mm diameter, 15mm thick dive watch as way too big, but are fine with a 55 mm diameter, 20mm thick Gshock. It's like concerns over size go out the window when a Gshock enters the studio.

    • @TimeToGoTravelAndTimepieces
      @TimeToGoTravelAndTimepieces  Před 2 lety +1

      Hehe. Yeah felt funny switching from one to the other when I was making the video. Maybe I'm lucky with my wrist size but I like wearing a mix in watch sizes, small all the way up to the chunkier G-shock/Tuna sized watches.

      @@TimeToGoTravelAndTimepieces My wrist was nearly 8 inches and I thought even 40mm watches seemed too small. But I've lost 50 pounds and been shocked how much smaller my wrist got. I've had to take links out of every bracelet and 40mm watches don't seem so tiny now. An unexpected benefit of dieting!

      I'm thinking of getting the new Gshock 2000 series mudmaster cause its been slimed down to 16mm thick. I'm so tired of thick gshocks. They need to be tough cause you're always banging them into things. 😅

  • @tennbones

    Love it. I have had it 5 months and am still amazed by it's functions. I have 14 other g shocks that are just mostly sitting in my collection since this one came home. In a couple of years I will change the battery, a fifteen minute job, and rock on.

    Looks awesome. I just cannot see the merits in a negative display. This is almost perfect, if you can carry it off. I would happily lose some of the functions, for the solar facility, and maybe the nightlight needs to stay on longer. A great statement piece, doing enough to differentiate itself from its “ smart” competition. Super review, thanks.

    • @TimeToGoTravelAndTimepieces
      @TimeToGoTravelAndTimepieces  Před 2 lety

      Yes. The solar capability would have been great to have. I do like the look of negative displays but they can be tricky to read sometimes. Thanks Raymond.

    • @loganholmberg2295
      @loganholmberg2295 Před 2 lety +1

      The negative displays on higher end Gshocks and Protreks aren't so bad. Its TFT? over Lcd and they have a slight green tint but they are ALLOT easier to read in the sun. The negative display on my Protrek PRW-6600 and pretty decent outside in the sun. Still its subjective and I would try or have return option if you get one.

      Thank you Logan. I think its an age thing for me. Need time to focus. I do like the larger, and very clear +ve display. I do like the Pro treks very much. Pondering.......Im currently wearing a 46mm smart watch with an Amoled display. They are clear, but just feel a bit wrong sometimes.

    I have the same one for 12 months now I like a lot but I am not now liking Casio’s new app I now have the new red GWGB1000 which has also most of the same functionality but I don’t get range Anxiety now because of the solar power system but I don’t like the pull out crown it is slower to set the Altimeter with it much quicker to do on the GGB100

    it aint no gwg. but its an awesome half price version of one. lol. the only thing its actually got is a step tracker. the app features are just something you could use with almost any exploration app. all of the gpsing is done on the phone. you need that discontinued rangeman for EVERYTHING this watch and the gwg has except its not analog at al.

    I think the GWG-2000 is the best Ana-Digi G-Shock. Much more expensive but a better watch in every way in my opinion. The only disadvantage is the GWG-2000 doesn't have a step counter if you want that. Thanks for the video.

    The perfect G-Shock first and foremost has to be Solar. All those features will drain the battery eventually. Also, with Solar, you don't need to break the seal. IMO GAW-100 has to be the perfect Ana-Digi.

    • @TimeToGoTravelAndTimepieces
      @TimeToGoTravelAndTimepieces  Před 2 lety +1

      Yeah no solar is definitely the biggest negative with this one. I'll have to see if I can get my hands on a GAW-100 sometime. I find the smaller digital displays usually hard to read but maybe the way it has 3 is a bit easier.

      The WR on a solar deteriorates over time no matter how you use the watch or store it. I service my solar g shock every 3 years to lube or replace the gasket.
