Can you do that with any dip powder with holo? (rubbing it)
Will the non dip top coat last as long as a dip top coat?

Yes, you can use a non dip top coat with dip powder! Some people prefer it. The durability of it will not last as long. However, once it is completely dry, you can dab on some activator and apply your dip top coat right over top of it! That will give you extra durability!
P.S. you should be able to achieve this with most, if not all chrome/ holo powders.

Tried it and it worked, but it came out a little streaky. Is that because I let the polish dry to much? Maybe the quality of my chrome?

You can essentially use any color that you like! It just “pops” a littler more or darker colors 😊

I am hoping you can help me. I can’t get this to work. I love the chrome look, but am allergic to the UV gel so I was so excited to find this video. I used the exact same product you are using,, but I can’t get the powder to look like chrome.
Are you letting it dry too much? You might need to play around with the timing a little bit
So holo and chrome powders are the same as dip powder 🫣.. sorry I'm a newbie and I thought they were different things.. can this be done with any chrome or holo powders or does it have to be dip powder please and sorry for the stupid question 🤦🏼♀️
I will be traveling for few weeks and plan to have my manicurist do a dip on my nails. I'm trying to figure out if I can use a chrome finish to cover up and fill the grown-out portion of my nail as my nails grow so quickly. Can I follow this process on a dip that has been finished? Thank you!
Hi! I just tried this with the Sally Henson miracle gel, and I failed horribly. It dried super fast and when I tried rubbing it with my finger it didn't chrome at all. I put it on top of Revel Margo
The bottom of her bottles say dip powder..I thought dip powder and pigments we're totally different things..

How do you remove the gel? 100% acetone like the dip powder removal?
I don’t have a UV lamp so I bought the miracle gel to try but mine isn’t coming out the way it’s supposed to. The holographic chrome just looks like glitter. Is it because I need to use black as a base? I was using any color I had.

Does the mani last as long with the Sally Hansen gel top coat? I noticed you were about to cap the nail with the top coat but then pulled away - any particular reason?
The Sally Hansen won’t give it as much durability, but after it dries completely you can dab on your activator and apply your dip top coat! That will give you the durability you are after 😍
Also, to answer your question about capping the edge: my brain is so used to capping with my dip liquids and I wasn’t quite sure if it was necessary with this, so I just stopped lol😆

I don’t know how you got this to work. I followed all the directions to a T and tried floating the SH miracle gel TC and it just made a huge mess of my chrome. My last resort is to try a water based top coat. If that doesn’t work I’m throwing out all my chrome. 😢

You would need to use 100% acetone for removal.
hi, i saw this product recommended in a fb group and when i did a search it came up in a silver bottle on their website. do you know if its the same polish just different packaging. hoping so.. so excited to try this! i have some sample chromes coming soon! thanks for all ur tips! :)

Does using Sally Hansen Gel last as long as when you use step three of revel?
Also could you use the third step of revel instead of the final coat of the gel?
It does last longer! And I wouldn’t suggest putting step 3 directly on top of the chrome - it will smear/streak in my experience.
I have tried using chrome powders the regular way before, but they don't get that chrome look I want. Instead, when I use black polish and then apply the chrome, the black just turns kind of an off black. When I tried it I didn't use dip powder, instead it was one of the Express Gel Polishes in black....the kind that don't require a base coat or a top coat. So, I was wondering if it didn't work because there was no sticky layer. Does the chrome require the sticky layer from the gel top coat to work? Also, does that mean you can't use a No Wipe Top Coat when using chrome? Hope this makes sense.
Stephanie Lewis I’ve use no wipe gel to chrome. You just have to under cure it in order for it to work. It should should be a fairly easy process if you cure it for the right amount of time. I personally prefer this no light method!
Hello I am wondering if you used a base coat under your black powderyour powder had to stick to something. You never said. ? If so what kind? I need to shop on Amazon in Canada.
You don’t have to but I recommend dipping in clear powder before you do black for easier removal later. She did her liquid step 1 base coat then dipped in black. Repeat. Then she applied step 2 activator so that it could harden enough to file buff the surface smooth.
Do you have to have Barbara to do either of these? I have over 150 dips but not Barbara. Can I just dip with the holo and mirror dips

You can definitely dip them as normal and chrome it over itself!

Only certain powders will chrome. Some of your shimmer dips may chrome as well. You could definitely get some swatches and experiment.
Do you think sally hansens matte top coat will works as well as this method if i want matte nails with no uv lamp?
christinasch84 their matte top coat is great! I’m not certain that it would work for the chrome effect though.
@@ManisbyMegan thanks for your reply :) I recently purchased the matte to use with a specific dip, Galactic by dazzle doll. It looks best with a chrome matte look.
I especially love the look of matte black nails, so if it doesn't work for galactic atleast I can use it for normal dips lol

You don't have to! You can put it over any color that you'd like. It really pops over black.
Can you do regular dip with this sally gel 🤔
You would still nee the base liquid and activator. Also, this top coat is not as durable as dip top coat.
