Can you switch off the FPV to save battery of both transmitter and drone?
Also, I suppose batteries from the X5C wouldn't fit?

+MECFS Hello and thanks for asking. No, you can't turn it off. The battery of the Syma X5C would need to do a hardcore diet before it can fit there, hehee. Cheers.

Also, I'm super in doubt between this one and the V686G. I want to carry around when travelling so the tiny size would be a big plus. But the 686 seems to have super large range! Which is good considering the FPV I guess.
Any thoughts? Any input greatly appreciated! Price-wise they seem to be the same...
I wonder if antenna mods to the tx and quad would increase its control range

Yes cuz from what I have seen that it does work better on quads that's tend to hide the antennas
I have it! What is headless mode? It turn off stabilization? Its really nice drone i have it connected to my fpv googles but is possible to change mode to non-stabilization? Thanks for reply.
+FPVCat Hello and thanks for asking. I personally find the headless mode useless, but it is supposed to make things easier for beginners. Basically, the drone will fly in relation to the position of the transmitter, disregarding the orientation of its "head" or front. No, as far as I know there is no way to turn off the stabilization, if you find out how, please do share. Cheers.
Drones Visual ok, Is there some thing to flash software? I have fpv googles and iam flying with 250 Freestyle without stabilization (look to my newer video on channel). Iam get Q242 to christmas and iam wanna to train with it in my room. Sorry for my bad English - iam Czech. Bye
+Drones Visual Hey DV you mentioned that you lost control of the drone twice, once when it inverted and hit the ground and again when it just didn't respond, my question to you is have you performed a throttle fail-safe test on this quad, ie. when you apply throttle and then cut the transmitter off what happens, does the motors continue to spin or do they stop within a few seconds. I like this quad, but if throttle fail-safe is not built-in to this quad it's worthless in my opinion.

I don't like the battery medium they went with on this quad, the whole proprietary angle is messed up IMHO, that cartridge I'm sure will cost more than the pack of 4 or 5 3.7v 400mah batteries I now use with my hubsan x4, I have over 40 of those bust doesn't look like I can use them on this quad unless I perform some serious modifications. How much are the battery cartridge replacements.
+William Carrey Hello and thanks for commenting. You have a point, they could cost more, but they are way more comfortable and efficient when you need to replace them. Most drones are evolving towards that kind of batteries, I was in fact surprised that the Hubsan H501S didn't have that kind of battery. Regarding the price, I have not seen them for sale, which is strange, as the Q242G came out some time ago. Cheers.

If anyone wishes to jump right to the FPV monitor sample, it's at 7:08. And to my disappointment, there are no FPV sample while Q242 is in flight. :(

is the recording better than the fpv feed?
+george aura DWell I would need to look at the both on a screen the same size. The fpv feed looks better displayed on a tiny monitor that size.

an review, of an small videodrone with recordings and fpv, and not showing an example of how it performs in its video.
And its not like you didnt hadnt an microsdcard?? did you forget it, or dont know how to show it??, otherwise this is as fare that you can come from an socalled "review" of an small vidquad with fpv where camera is its mainfeature and what people are paying for.. (just an brief video-sequence is all that it takes, to give an indication how it performs)
