- This is my personal video footage of the Monkees receiving their Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in July 1989 in Los Angeles,California.I was very lucky to have worked security for them that day!All 4 of them played a concert then & appeared at a Monkees convention.*This is VERY RARE footage of the 4 of them together.
I am the one wearing a Monkees "Headquarters" white tshirt & wearing glasses.
Thanks very much to Chip Douglas's secretary (at the time)Julie Galioto who recorded this footage for me! Enjoy!
***If used on other sources, please credit SCOTT CATTON for this footage.
Thank you!
Awesome that they got their star at last. :)
God bless these men! They brought me do much happiness and still do! I'm a first generation Monkee fan. 70 years old
Great video, Scott!
Awesome thanks for posting this!!!
Very cool Scott!! Thank you!!
Haha, I heard someone in the background say "Where's Davy?!" It's funny becaues Davy is standing in front of mike, but he's too short no one can see him even on stage :P I love the monkees :D
2:43 😂
Crap, this was 23 years ago - exactly the same length of time between the TV show (1966) and this ceremony (1989). Time flies...
Julie galioto is (was) my mom. Sadly she passed in 1998 . My mom helped organize the reunion tour as well. She dyed Davie Jones hair and I remember answering the phone for mom and coco dolenz (mickey dolenz mom) was on the other end. Such a long long time ago..
I am in that crowd somewhere. Was a great day. Just wish that the photos i took came out better.
Yes, I WAS THERE too, I was using at least two buses, it took me a LONG, LONG, time to get there, I arrived there at 8:30 A.M. and some of the people were already there, two people in front of me at the barricade fence thing who WOULD NOT give up their place (and neither would I) - standing out in the warm sun for 2 and a half hours but it was worth it, the Monkees came at 11A.M. , I was standing about 15 feet from them in my red flowered blouse, and Mike kept wearing those blinking sunglasses! Couldn't he just take them off for 5 minutes and put them back on, again? I don't believe I'll ever be that close to them, again. Around that time they were on TV, and it didn't give them much justice - I saw them IN PERSON and they looked like they were FRESH, right out from a bakery, and I thought, "My four ice cream sodas." Micky and Peter NEVER wore any glasses, and they kept looking , and looking around to make sure everybody saw their faces. The two Capricorns didn't look around that much. That Johnny Grant guy, he looked the same, on TV or in person, no difference. Yes, some people were holding up mini-tape recorders (I wish I had one too.).
I WAS THERE!! I WAS ALSO AT HE CONCERT THE NIGHT BEFORE AND AFTER THE STAR CEREMONY, I WENT TO THE PRESS CONFERENCE.!!
Wat a great video I wish I couldve bin there! I ave been fortunate 2 have my photo taken at the star and ave walked down Hollywood boulevard 5 times. It seems like there was a great atmosphere that day. Next thing shud b rock n roll hall of fame if there is any justice!
The guy with the sign should keep that sign for when they get inducted into the Hall of Fame.... whenever that is.
wonder what Mike and Peter were having such an in-depth chat about! Mike was looking soooo good then!! Thanks for the great upload!
Please upload the rest, it wound be nice to see their faces

Cool! Hope you have more and if so please put it up! Saw them on both of their anniversary tours (20th and 30th tours). Also a musician friend of mine did sound for them during the 20th anniversary tour whose name is Danny Eyer. Have a video of him on my CZcams page performing "Daydream Believer." Check it out please! :)

NO Fred Velez = NOT a REAL Monkee event.
