      Nelson and Baldwin are similar. Neither are particularly elite in any one attribute, but they get open and make the big plays whenever the ball is thrown to them. Rarely see drops from either, instead you see a bunch of tough catches look easy.

    As a die hard seahawks fan, this year's o-line is already way better than last year. Still not a solid group like the other top o-lines, but has the ability to give wilson an extra second or two more than last year.

    • @MrLarryLessor
      @MrLarryLessor Před 7 lety +6

      I think a number of teams are overlooking Seattle's scoring ability:
      Paul Richardson made big plays last year in the playoffs. Amara Darboh can be a hell of a physical receiver with good size. Jimmy Graham is elite.
      Running back corps is diverse and strong: Lacy, Rawls, Prosisse.
      Giants are in a tough division. Seattle may have an easier path to home field advantage.
      I agree the Giants can be a major factor in the playoffs - Bucs are premature... haven't proven anything yet, though I like their talent. Winston seems like the prime candidate for screwing up mentally in a big moment.
      Winston is the opposite of Russ Wilson - One is much smarter, much more dependable, trustworthy in decisionmaking than the other.
      Remember Russ Wilson is such a clutch big-game player that he outplayed Tom Brady in Russ's last Super Bowl - until the one throw, but that was more a great play by the Corner. (Brady had 2 INTs that night. Russ was making big plays to unknown receivers/undrafted tight end).
      Russ can make stars out of guys off the street. Russ is underrated - he has more 4th Quarter comebacks than Aaron Rodgers in a much shorter career than Aaron's had.

    Seattle's defense is healthy, and that is truly scary. They're dominant on that side of the ball. Their offense, however, can be problematic. Wilson can't make plays if his O-Line can't give him two seconds protection in the pocket. Their RB core is ok, but again, the line won't be able to protect them. The Seahawks will stop elite offenses, but they won't be able to score.
    The Packers are somewhat a mirror image. Aaron Rodgers, the best QB in the league (sorry Brady but you're out of your prime), has a complete arsenal of weapons on offense, AND Ty Montgomery will actually be prepared to play RB this season. Their O-Line is admittedly young, but still very talented. Green Bay's defense is definitely not great, but it's improved. They got a lot deeper in the secondary this year after the draft, so there'll be a lot of young bodies out there in pass coverage.
    If they go head to head in the postseason, it'll be a very good game, and it can honestly go either way.

    Aaron Rodgers is 53-14 at Home during the regular season. Russell Wilson is 22-17 Away. If that doesn''t tell you all you need to know...The Packer's Defense looks a lot better than it did this time last year with additions in the secondary(having both starting corners is nice too) and at defensive line. They also retained their entire receiving core except for Jared Cook, but only because they got Martellus Bennett. Don't count them out before the season even starts.

    • @brgeneralthug225
      @brgeneralthug225 Před 7 lety

      In 2014 n 2015 the Packers defense finished 15th in both years which is solid like you said and I completely agree. However, I don't like the constant ripping that the Packers defense constantly gets in thee media. They have talented playmakers on defense like Mike Daniels, who is one of the best defensive tackles in the game he had 4.5 sacks last season, is exceptional against the run, and he also gets a lot of hurries and pressures as well. In addition, Nick Perry had 11.5 sacks last year and I except him to be even better this year. Nick Perry's problem has never been a lack of talent his problem has been his health and the fact that he was always hurt. Because when he was not getting hurt he showed flashes of his talent that finally were on full display.
      And yes Damarious Randall and Rollins were terrible last year but, their injuries severly affected their games and confidence last season. People have forgotten that in their rookie years both of them played exceptionally well. Damarious Randall had a pick six against the Raiders, he had a pick against the Panthers, he also had a pick in the broncos game and he had an interception in the playoff game against the Cardinals. Also, since he entered the league in 2015 he is tied with one of the best upcoming safeties in the game in Landon Collins with six picks.
      Furthermore, even though Clay Matthews has struggled with injuries ans his play has declined a bit he is still capable of dominating a game when healthy. Let's also not forget that they have one of the best safety tandems in the game with Morgan Burnett and Ha Ha Clinton Dix as well.
      Now, my problem with the Packers defense is not lack of talent because they do have talent in guys like Daniels, Perry, Matthews Jake Ryan Ha Ha Clinton Dix Morgan Burnett, Randall and lastly Rollins. But, my issue with their defense is consistency especially when it comes to the playoffs. If and that's a big IF if they can play better defensively in the playoffs by limiting the chunk plays which are plays of twenty yards or,, more and they can limit the amount of points they give up, and force more turnovers with the offense that they have with the likes of Devante Adams, Randall Cobb, Jordy Nelson, Jeff Janis Martellus Bennett Lance Kendricks and etc. If the defense plays better in the playoffs with the offensive firepower they have and the talent that they possess on defense they can beat any team in the league.

    Let's say Schlereth is right and the Seahawks had lineman who were not worthy of the NFL:
    That means Seattle once again did a hell of a coaching job bc last year's Seattle team beat the Patriots, and they had a lead on Atlanta in the playoffs when Atlanta was supposed to win the Super Bowl.
    So that's achieving a lot when Seattle lost Earl Thomas and Russ Wilson was banged up, and their D line wasn't the same (losing Bruce Irvin to Oakland etc)..

    Lombardi is coming back to its true home. These guys are unintelligent, hating on the Packer's receiving corps? Oh yeah we just got Jordy Nelson who led the league in TD receptions, all whilst Davante Adams was #4 in the league in TD receptions. And Randall Cobb, 3 TD receptions against the NYG in the playoffs against arguably the best secondary in football? Get out of here
    Packers top 3 O-line last year, AT LEAST top 2 receiving corps, and arguably the best Quarterback in football (Unarguably in the top 2). You guys are plain wrong.

      @MrLarryLessor Před 7 lety

      The Packers offense has been hyped for years: Look how that offense has gotten bottled up or contained in big games and the playoffs for most of Rodgers' career.
      Rodgers' has had great receivers. Receivers aren't the problem. Aaron's game-time decisionmaking and poise has been a problem - he's just so popular and such a ratings boost for the game, it's hard for people to criticize and tear down his reputation: Because if people/experts started dissecting his failures in big games like I have, and pointed the finger at him, then the public at large started deciding "Hey this "first ballot hall of famer Rodgers may not be as great as we thought", then that would hurt NFL ratings since Rodgers is a guy that many TV people want to feature on their telecasts.
      So the NFL is already sensitive about ratings being down last year.
      Profit and business often get in the way of telling the truth - bc of people really knew there wasn't a Santa Clause, a lot of money that gets wasted would not be spent.

    • @MrLarryLessor
      @MrLarryLessor Před 7 lety +2

      B3astL33
      Defense was such a big key to the Packers Super Bowl in 2011: You don't have charles Woodson or anyone quite like that now, Not sure if Sam Shields is the same, no BJ Raji, is Clay Matthews as good? He's older.
      No Julius Peppers now.
      It's gonna be hard for Rodgers to carry the team if the defense gives up points - and carry them all the way to a SB victory.
      The likelihood is another loss to Atlanta, maybe loss to Seattle, or at best, the Patriots beating GB in the Super Bowl.
      Given Rodgers' playoff track record, getting to the Super Bowl would be a stretch (Rodgers has less playoff victories than Joe Flacco in their careers).

      Phonso ur stupid asf yo. Davon house had 24 passes defended in 2015 while at Jax. Set a franchise record for most pass defensed. He played in 4 games because Jax switched to a zone scheme and davon house is a man to man coverage type of guy. And just so u know he shut down Julio in 2014 when Sam Shields was getting burnt on every play. and Admad Brooks brings toughness to the defense so you obviously don't know shit. Get your facts right.

      Tommy Dashed. Being a Falcons fan my whole life you have to understand my hope of them winning their 1st ring and this is a roster that can get it done. Like you said only time will tell and no matter what happens im excited we at least have a new stadium which I have been to it is extremely nice. Also the Madden curse is a thing to a lot of people but I don't see Tom Brady having a bad season in the next few years in fact he looks better than he did 10 years ago, but age will be a variable for sure. QUEX stats are an accurate reflection of playmaking ability. Jordy's Nelson's stats represent a top playmaker at his position. 11 tds in the redzone. Thats not just some meaningless stat. That means the best quarterback in the game consistently looks for jordy and converts. Rodgers to jordy is the most efficient tandem in the history of the nfl, its not just rodgers. Manning had harrison, rice had montana, unitas had berry, aikman had irvin, and rodgers has jordy. Its no coincidence rodgers has the worst season of his career when jordy blew his knee out.

      The Packers get so much hype for at least 9 years now since Rodgers was drafted
      They have made the Super Bowl only once in that time.
      They have gotten outplayed, often at Lambeau with homefield advantage, by teams like the Niners or Giants who weren't that dominant (Giants won 2 Super Bowls, but played inconsistently and only made those Super Bowls mostly by beating the Packers who just weren't big-time enough to live up to all their hype.
      Packers do well for their small-town mentalities. But they need to start playing with more trustworthiness and consistency to deserve mention with elite teams in the NFL like the Patriots or even the Steelers who at least have won multiple Super Bowls in the past 10 years.
