What an awesome job this video does! 100% indeed as one other review said. Managed to replace the upper chassis assembly myself but the push rods fell out of the switch unit as it was being bumped about a bit. Horrified to find FIVE little white bits and two crazy springs to push back in with the cover piece. Vid sorted me out, and within 1 hour I was vacuuming the carpet again. Thanks a million. 🎉😊
Thank you ... your video was 100%. After watching, I was able to fix my DC50 without smashing it to bit and scrapping it .... you left no doubt that it’s fiddly, but as said your video saved my day ... on completion the main motor worked as well as the head unit and worked as it should with both red and great switch .... thank you
My DC50's power cord went bad and had to be replaced. I ordered the OEM part (25.00) and followed the instructions from this video to replace the cable. The cord wiring is easy but to get to get access you need to open up a few areas that have small parts. If you take your time and follow these instructions it can be done. Thanks for posting this video!!!
Really appreciate this video. Took out the cord but could not put it all back together until you explained how not to drop the push rods.
Done a few of these in the past. Forgot what a stinker of a job it is. Many thanks for this video.

Thanks very much, that was a great help.👍😊
Amazing video. My brush head won't switch off in upright position so I guess problem is in switch assembly!
Thank you, your video helped me a lot 🙏🙏❤❤

Great help, thanks very much. 👍
Excellent tutorial, easy to follow and clear instructions. Thank you..
Any idea where I can find a replacement external power cord for the dyson DC50?
Sounds like a nightmare to work on.
