The thing that would work well in my books is the headless aspect. If they can smooth out the process of integrating Shopify's Storefront API for ecom along with potentially partnering up with a CMS solution like Sanity/Contentful/Prismic etc., I'd be very excited.
But yeah, as expected, super early stage. Alpha makes sense. Interested to see if it can become a viable product - appreciate you testing it out!
Thanks!
That's the plan 👏
Yeah I mean framer does this out of the box. Without the forced branding abstractions desperately shoved into all the labels of every element in this confused identity of a tool.
I appreciate your thoughts and reflections, Samuel. Thanks!
Thank you. And I appreciate you watching and subscribing!
12:50 Looks like Webflow eventually did end up changing the Layout selector to this style. Very interesting. Looks like Webstudio did it first
Yeah! Definitely the way to go
I'm looking for a new website builder and looking into this one but haven't seen anyone create anything good with it yet.
So create something good! Would love to know how you get on
can you please tell me how to delete a an element 😩
I'm on their Discord channel since December last year, and they haven't rolled out that many features since then. The only thing I could notice they added is, that you can link your own Domain to Websudio. The fact that they call things like sections “slots” is just confusing to me. I tried setting up web studio on my own hardware and couldn’t get it to run, since it’s not that well documented. After all it’s a cool project for them but I don’t think i could use Webstudio anytime soon.
This is sad to hear. I know @webstudio watch this channel so maybe they could respond. I hope Webflow can take so cue’s from this software. It’s trying to do some great things.
Thanks for the update!
Would love a GDPR video!
This is going to be a game changer
More to come on this!
The combo class system IS a weakness of webflow. I can understand the limitations in a UI of limiting the use of multi-classes... But it makes utility classes a much more difficult concept as opposed to Bootstrap or Tailwind.
Yeah, I struggle to see the logic in why they created this paradigm. I guess it’s for a reason and maybe just a limitation for those who understand the power of CSS.
Still looks very very beta but if they do follow their roadmap then yes, they could become the next big thing. I like webflow, i prefer Pinegrow, a hybrid of theses two could be killer.
I agree!!
Why do you prefer Pinegrow over Webflow? I have 0 experience with Pinegrow, some with Webflow. If it because of the hosting part of Webflow or is Pinegrow as a tool more robust? Cause Webflow, to me, looks like it has most options needed for anything. What's Pinegrow better at?
if we're being real here, in the current beta version, it's useless. I'm rooting for them to upset Webflow, cause competition breeds innovation. But currently you could barely create a publishable website with it. I feel they released this prematurely. if you want to make a splash, this is not the way to do it.
It was weird, only in editing this video I realised all the things they spoke about on the homepage are not here. I got caught up in the simplicity of the tool and focused on that. I hope they deliver on those promises.
We are building in public, mate, giving you a chance to test early, be part of the process, instead of building for years behind closed doors.
This is what Open Source is about, I would hope for more enthusiasm for us taking big risks and exposing ourselves like this.
Thank you nevertheless.
@@getwebstudio That, honestly sounds a bit passive-aggressive to me, not the best approach to deal with potential customers, no?
@@vedantkumar2874 You are Right! It's actually fair to be confused between Promo video that partially highlights the roadmap and the current state of development.
@@getwebstudioshit way to be communicating. Takes the brand from a semi professional saas company to a 20 year old angry and arrogant boy trying to score big
This thing is the most convoluted diluted project with non existent usability, focus, or objective whatsoever. It’s confused by its own identity, abstracting the entire concept of dev design web and the internet. So pointless.
Give things a chance. Rome wasn’t built in a day. I say good luck to it. We all benefit from having great tools at our disposal. Why so much hate?
"It’s confused by its own identity" Uh, you do realize we are talking about SOFTWARE, not a juvenile delinquent teenager, right?
Cool, but I've yet to see ONE person actually build a webpage with this tool. Now being mean, but I'm wasting my time watching reviews.
Funnily enough I’ve actually been thinking about this. I kind of want to set myself a challenge. What do you think you’ll get by watching someone build a webpage?
@@webflowandcode Uhm, well, I can see the capabilities and how easy/hard it would be to do such a task. As of right now, I have no idea but I'm guessing since no one is building pages and showing us then the capabilities must be very limited.
Cool thanks. There’s room for both. Some people are happy with a rundown and the opinions (also the point of my video) but there is also a place to actually use these tools which I have done in the past. Working on a standard template I can build in these comparisons to understand exactly what you’re talking about. Thanks for the feedback!
Can’t even open this garbage. Only chromium but forces it even if you don’t have chrome itself
Not a huge deal. Again, I think you need to be reminded that’s it’s growing.
This looks like a cheap knock off of Webflow, I dont mind paying premium for the Webflow - it's much more refined and a lot can be done there. Not to talk about upcoming features like AI integration and Logics
It's not cheap, its free.
Once we get to the premium-level stuff, we will start monetizing. So far the tool is in Beta and completely free. Already faster and better in many significant ways than Webflow but yes it lacks a lot of features.
Stay tuned, what matters is that we keep going if you want a real alternative to Webflow.
It’s just a matter of time before things catch up to Webflow
Being that youre mainly coming from a classical developers view when making no-code/low-code content I am curious if you have heard of and used Wappler? Would love to see a video on it =]
Wappler rings a bell. Maybe one day I’ll do it but CZcams algo mainly likes it when I make Webflow content otherwise gets buried. Let’s see what I can do
@@webflowandcodeindeed, maybe Wappler vs Webflow? =]
