    KIt from Summit racing has the same size piston piston seal size was 30mmx26mm..the Jaco kit does some of the newer jacks. I recommend you take apart your jack first and measure your seal size.

    For those who say buy a new jack are missing the point. The reason we have tools is to fix things. Our time invested is to learn & the satisfaction of doing it ourselves. If you are just going to by a new everything when something breaks without trying to repair it, then why do you have tools?

    Similar to my old jack that lucky me still works. Good information on finding a seal kit. Those new HF long reach low profile jacks are calling my name.

      yea pull it apart and measure the cylinder and the piston. then start looking for the correct parts. Many on evilbay. some on that other guys website. if your lucky the sizes are the same as mine or the guy on ebay has the piston sizes all in metric measurements.

    very good job on that, when you,re not in a hurry,you can measure the cylinder and the piston then go to an hydraulic seal supplier and find a polyurethane seal that can be fitted there, possibly that you'll have to modify the piston a bit but the quality gain worth the effort.

  •  Před 2 lety +1

    just rebuilt mine and used just standard o-rings from a kit. took me about 20minutes. have it lifting a car rn and it is still holding no problem. mine wasn't dropping down but was leaking fluid and then after awhile it would be hard to jack it up (air in system) 3 ton 2 pump just like this one... thanks for video!

    •  Před 2 lety +1

      i also just used air hammer chissel (marred it up but better than buying a socket to fit that big thing) and it came loose / was able to tighten it). Went about it a different way as well in terms of taking it apart, but whatever works for you just get to it!

    • @Mikefngarage
      @Mikefngarage  Před 2 lety +1

      check the size of the piston and measure like I said if it is the same check out summit racing link. Much cheaper than the other options. oring supported seal is easy to change

    •  Před 2 lety

      @@Mikefngarage yeah i took the jack all apart and thought i'd be cool and just use regular o-rings i had laying aroudn my garage. well they leak like crazy haha. I'll be stopping by a hydraulic shop to see if they have the oring supported seal as I can't find those online (like I know it must just be a common size piston). Do you know them by some other name maybe?

    I can tell you the 3ton rating BS. I just blew mine out picking up one corner of a 7,000 lift. Now it wont pump up. 🙄 Thanks for posting this, might look at throwing a kit at it.

    • @Mikefngarage
      @Mikefngarage  Před 2 lety +1

      yea pull it apart just to make sure the sizes are the same. Summit racing has the kits pretty cheap. worth fixing. vs over 100 now for a jack like this one.

    I’m guessing that some of those other smaller seals in the kit would be for the 2 pump cylinders? I have one of these 3T jacks that I either got from HF or AZ. Too hard to tell once the labels get banged up and fall off.
    Anyhow, I’ve got a very small leak coming from one of the 2 push cylinders. It’s either coming from there or it is running down the jack from somewhere else and just pooling at the push cylinders.
    I’m sure I’ll find it when I clean it and tear it down, but if I’m going to get in there then I’d probably just replace all of the seals. If those seal kits have everything in there, that would be perfect.
    Both kits looked like they could possibly have everything for a complete rebuild, but I wonder if messing around in there trying to replace them all of the seals may cause more problems down the road. As in, if it isn’t broke don’t fix it.
