Tiny, Miniature Ship in a Bottle - Polymer Clay Tutorial

Hi guys! Today we're making this cute, miniature ship in a bottle :D I chose to make my ship quite simple, since it is so tiny, but you can add more detail or make a different type of ship, if you want :) To make this a charm, just add a head/eyepin to the kork. The bottle I used in this video came from ebay and contained nail art glitter ;) But you can use any type of bottle.
Good to know:
I mostly work in 1:12 scale, but you can make them in any size you want and add headpins to make them charms :) I used a mix of the polymer clay brands Fimo and Cernit, but you can use any brand you like. The liquid clay I use is from the brand Fimo. My mold maker is from Siligum/Sili-put.

this is sooo tiny and cute! I love it! And you have to really make sure, that it will fit your bottle in the end. not that easy :)
Just one question: Why didn't you just attach the sails and stuff before baking and baked them with the ship? I'm just thinking that it would be easier to assemble the boat outside of the bottle.

+Floraphine The boat would not have fit into the nech of bottle with the sails on :) Therefore I put it together inside the bottle :)

As always...wonderful and delightful sails! Love the ship in the bottle. Question: after cutting the thread, do you glue the thread to the "water" on the sides of the ship? Thread sometimes (and slowly) starts to rise. That's why I ask. Did I miss that part? Peace.

It would be very simple to use cardstock to make a stand for the bottle to display inside a dollhouse, or next to a "full size" bottled model ship.

is it a glass bottle or a plastic one i only have plastic can i bake that too since temp. won't be that high??

I wouldn't bake plastic, even the low temp will melt it. You can find the glass ones at dollar tree, or you could try using air dry clay.
