Anyone who is against summons makes no sense. The game literally gives you dozens of summons, and the DLC adds more of them. With their own upgrade system. So you’re saying I shouldn’t leverage a part of the game that’s built-in?
a paraplegic orangutan could beat the game with mimic. I’m not shaming u for using it but i find it rather boring to use summons

At first i was having difficulties being at RL 332 but when i obtain the armor of solitude and the solitude great sword, i was really getting the hang of it. It really helps if you collect those scadutree blessings and revered spirit ashes. Defeated messmer and at the halfway point of dlc, but i really wanna explore more the shadowlands before heading towards the finale. Got a few new weapons and been really enjoying them. Realla twin blade and messmers impaler have been really funn weapons to play with.
Will you do a powerful bleed or strength based dryleaf art build? Having trouble maximizing its power. Really want to use the hand to hand combat
I knew from the start that blasphemous blade was gonna be OP as hell in the dlc but was just trying to find something that’s new from the DLC for a little change….i guess as I go further I’ll change but as of now the base game weapons seem to be overpowering the dlc ones early on

I’ve done a Guts great sword/Lions Claw build for my first play through and Age of Stars/Prayerful Strike for my second.
This is my “100% Run” simping for Ranni so I’m gonna take the Darkmoon Greatsword and Carian Scepter into the DLC.
It's good until you get to the later bosses that have fast movesets. Even with mimic, you have trouble pulling the skill off without getting 1-2shot on NG7+. This dlc is all about being mobile. So high mobility op builds are the best.
I think the best DLC build is the Bloodfiends Blood arm with crag blade in blood affinity and spam charge heavys

Great advice, I took some time to use the fragments to level up myself and my mimic tear as well. Beat several bosses, some took a few tries especially that giant super fast hippo. Just take your time, level up at every opportunity, try out the new weapons and don't get too frustrated.

I can't stress enough how playing with the game muted makes it so much easier to concentrate when you are fighting a hard boss.

I appreciate you making this video in good faith. I was one person that was just super frustrated with DLC cause the damage I was doing and the damage the enemies were doing to me felt insane. I didn’t want to look stuff up cause I just wanted to play the game as blindly as possible. I don’t remember who, but someone online said that you should use everything at your disposal in the DLC. Which actually surprised me. Base Elden Ring has condition me into doing everything on my own that I was crippling myself in the DLC. I should’ve been using summons, and exploring a lot more (even though I really didn’t know where I was going), and considering my build/stats. While the DLC still kind of annoys me with the enemies I appreciate that it’s actually making use the everything the game offers.

I used your iron great sword repeating thrust build and blasted most of the dlc. There were a couple bosses I struggled with but they were tough with any melee build.

Big shield builds are good too for a first run. You get to focus on the bosses’ movesets and learn.
Great videos do you think savages lion claw on that great katana would be viable?
savage lion claw is scam unfortunately, just use the normal one, you are longer vulnerable (each hit does less dmg than lions claw, only combined do they more) and less stance buildup, which is the main point of it vs bosses (in combination with the hyperarmor ofc)
I've been testing the great katana on our favourite golem yesterday. I switched to repeating thrust ash of war. I don't know the stagger values for overhead stance, but the damage was very lackluster compared to repeating thrust, esp considering the FP cost. I've always hated fighting humanoid enemies or basically invaders/others players in fromsoft games, but since putting that on my great katana they've been a breeze. It stops most humanoids from hitting me, it has crazy range due to the katana's length, its really quick(i tried double slash but its to slow on great katana) so it builds millicent/rotten winged sword insignia fast. Just an amazing ash of war for the great katana, def recommend. My "big boss" ash of war is probably going to be impaling thrust, as the stagger damage that seems to do is crazy. And the backhand blades man, so flashy it plays so good. I upgraded both to 25 but i have a hard time putting the great katana down.
Can you do a build on those new red bear claws with built in blood loss, got a feeling they can be nasty

hey man! may I ask why are you using 15 dex for the Lion's Claw Greatsword build? I see lots of people saying it's not needed to put extra points into dex for such a build

Is rivers of blood still strong? Or are these bleed builds stronger now due to the nerf?
Im currently using scavengers curved swords with frost and bleed. The frost is very handy in the dlc. Im going through on NG+1 and yes it is a slog at times but i find sometimes your better of being aggressive and stagger the enemies down

In the blasphemous build which i use since the base game maybe is better to use the "Two-Headed Turtle Talisman " instead of the base game one since is a dlc build :)

I've been mainly either hiding behind a greatshield and guard countering everyone or just kicking people in the face. This DLC has been great so far.

Hi, I play a mage build too and on this dlc I admit it’s not that easy, boss are much speeder than the base game, but moonveil does really good damage and very quickly + does poise damage so don’t rely on sorcery and abuse the moonveil ash of war :)
Awesome content as always. I noticed in the other vid you had the Backhand blades with Keen instead of Blood, do you have a preference? Also, how do they hold up against the dual scavengers?
Thank you! 🙏 blood for sure. So scavengers probably have more DPS, but the dodge action you get with the backhand blades is amazing, it’s also more fun imo.
@TheKingofRedLightning Kinda what I was thinking/what it looked like, I'm so used to just spamming ashes sometimes that I wasn't picking up on the fact it had Iframes and was meant to be a dodge lol. I'll try it out again when I get home, also thanks for always replying so quick!

bloodfiend arm, pickaxe, anchor are much better choices for the save lions claw

Have you messed with the black steel twinblade yet. Just picked it up last night and haven't had a chance to use it yet. It's it better than the base game twinblades.

There's a weapon you can get through the Finger Ruins quest line that is a staff- it has B scaling in both int and Faith but functions as a catalyst for both sorceries and incantations, with 350 incant/sorcery scaling. Its very strong for faith/int mixing

Bleed builds are still good in the DLC especially with some of the early bosses. Although, you might want to consider switching the peelers for gargoyle twinblades as they give better AR.

Is there a new weapon from the dlc that competes with the scaling of the blasphemous blade/Malikeths black blade for high/max level players?
The best one I've found so far is The moon knight twin swords from Rellana, they have C scaling in strength, dex, int and faith and feel reasonably strong.
The DLC is so damn hard on NG+7 even at level 500
Love your input. As someone who finished the base game countless times along with multiple randomizer runs, the DLC boss design is very off-putting. It only seems fitting that it is time to use summons and any other ''cheats'' you can think of to match the bosses bullshit design.

Use the blasphemous build as well as savage lions claw. You’ll do very well with your stats 🤘
Because your Rune Level doesn't matter much for the DLC - gather Scadutree fragments for the blessings and increase damage you deal and reduce damage you take. Don't try to bash your head against the wall.

I beat radahn with 15 , I didn't use any spirit as it makes him stronger , I tried few weapons and struggled for many hours I went back to my guts weapon with lions claw use poise break chance and shrimp food etc and went for staggers only took 2 trys
Poison hand, poison perfume, venomous fangs in occult.
Mushroom crown
Rot and wing talismans
Spike tear.
The DLC has been a cake walk.
BB is still very strong. I don't like this weapon, but took it against Blackgaol Knight and Dancing Lion. Fights were much easier after that. 😅
U have to try the old school double occult cragblade great stars against the hippo ive never seen any boss getting stance broken this much wtf

Yep it’s good too! I just don’t like being locked behind 1 damage type that’s not physical. At least with Faith you’ll have 3 total.
I was getting annoyed because of how much damage the enemies are dealing so I just said screw it and went on full turtle mode with Occult Cross-Naginata with Seppuku AoW + Fingerprint Shield. For armor I have White Mask and Duelist Greaves for the blood loss buff and aggro. Talisman used are Greatshield, Lord of Blood, Spear and Erdtree Favor. Cleared Castle Belurat with not much issue and on my way to Ensis.

for backhands would radan armor be better?
Armor doesn’t matter too much unless it boost your damage like the white mask for bleed builds. Just make sure to hit 51 poise.
scavenger curved sword is better then bandit one?
I’m on NG so can only get 1 but yes imo. On occult they shred. Less bleed but more physical damage.
The savage lion claw ash does less poise dmg than normal one
It still does amazing damage. They prob had to slightly nerf the poise for it with 2 slams on the ash.
You forgot the most important tip, use messmers weapon for the easiest dlc run possible

I mean u can use summons, i dont have fun if i use them, use mimic tear and then spam L2 with blasphemous blade is not fun for me, if u are satisfied on killing a boss like this, good for u...

Power stance - two handing it makes it dual wield, similar to fist weapons, hand to hand, throwing daggers, and perfume bottles.

"Bleed is still OP!" - Excuse you what? Bleed was fine right before they nerfed dual wielding bleed weapons to the ground. After that bleed has been absolute trash. And not just bleed but all status effect builds. Now everything that is not a boss is dead before you can prock a single effect and if you just used any straight damaging affinity instead of status affinity you would just do more damage and kill things even faster. And versus bosses you are lucky if you get more than a single prock anyway. It's just stupidly bad. The ammount of setup needed to get consistent use of status effects is huge and the result is what you can get with near to no setup by just investing in dex or str and everything extra like buffs and other setup just makes it miles better.
Fromsoft at some point just decided that instead of fixing the ton of underperforming stuff they will nuke anything that people find to be good in the game. The Blasphemous Blade being just one of the last examples. And that makes no sense since they separated PvP and PvE stats anyways so why would you nerf the PvE stuff few years after the game is out. It's just stupid.
