- A late review with as many details as I could compile together. Yes there are things that I'm missing in this review, but I would like to encourage you all to tell me in the comments. I will be doing more videos on this game.

It's good to see high quality reviews lately, LOP deserves it.
LoP is my GOTY by far. Baldur’s Gate outstayed its welcome 70 hours later, yet I can play LoP several times in that time and not want to stop.
Mine's too 👍
Going on ng4. GOTY
I agree. I’m on my 8th play through rn
Lies of p my game of the year so far! So fun and amazing game. Great combat that's fun and challenging
I have to say I agree with you. There's been a lot of great games this year but this one is number one for me when it comes to game of the year.
14:50 FYI, It's not a glitch. that is an invisible ability that infected dogs have.
I’ve never seen them do that lol
Yeah that was the only time that I ever saw them do that in the whole game. And most of the time when I encountered them there were multiples swinging their tentacles.
@@TheUltimateRey Because they were always your first target 😆
@@TheUltimateReyyeah only the dogs in The ruins and Alchemist isle can do that, they look different they are larger with bluish taint.
Only the red attacks have insane tracking as they’re supposed to be perfect guarded and not dodged. It said so within the tutorial area of the game. Solid review.
nah theres quite a few enemies/ bosses that have dogshit tracking. laxasia has some awful tracking that looks ridiculous (her first phase long sword strike combo has some awful tracking, she can almost turn 180 degrees at lightning speed bringing her sword down on your arse and it just looks stupid).
great review man. good in depth stuff. The attempted transitions/seques between sections of the review isn't necessary they were kinda goofy but that's so minor. good work hope you get some attention for this.
Slogging through Lords of the Fallen made me appreciate all the things Lies of P does right so much more.
game is a masterpiece. it's above some of from's games imo. honestly, most of their games. they fucking NAILED it
I just beat the Nameless Puppet earlier tonight and am planning on going into NG+. Great game!
Those dogs disappear and reappear, its an ability not a glitch I believe 😊
It's a tradition for these games
Great insight bro
This game is brilliant and what a great video to compliment it!
A few things i wish they fixed were poise for heavy weapons maybe give them a little bit because i hate charging a heavy attack and it canceled because i got hit and the other one is put a trader next to the corrupted parade master plz i hate being level locked
The dogs are not a bug, they become invisible and later ambush you. But I only see this in the last stage.
Only the dogs in the Alchemist Island and the ruins of Trismagistus can do that. Yeah that's not bug.
Quality over quantity. Well said.
It’s better than every Fromsoft game except maybe Sekiro. I say this specifically due to polish and actual gameplay mechanics. It runs at 180 fps on my PC and never lags or crashes (Fromsoft sucks at PC optimization… except Armored core 6 was decent). The skill expression/ceiling can only be compared to Sekiro in my eyes. And Lies of P actually has lots of weapons/combinations other than a katana which definitely gives it bonus points.
My only issue is the rarity to upgrade special weapons. You can only fully upgrade 2. And there’s 3 types of damage. Forcing you to stick with 1 play style
That's why the game is designed to be beaten 3 times. New skill trees, achievements, etc. By the end of 3, you'll have everything max level pretty much. You can also change the handle and the style becomes totally different
And you can use grindstones if you really have to have elemental damage
@@johndodo2062 right but that’s still only 6 diff fully upgraded special weapons. So you have to commit to just 2 for tech, 2 for motiv, and 2 for advance. But I don’t care for advance. But still having to play through the whole game to TRY another style with a fully upgraded weapon is crazy.
@@gaidenrubentheres no special weapon for advance and fully upgrading a weapon only gets u around 18 more dmg than the previous tier
Ur not limited by that unless u consistently die when bosses are at nearly 1hp
My game of the year easily. Already past 100 hours and on my 4th playthrough. I do really wish the game was a bit bigger and more open though like dark souls 1
Great game, great video!
I went back to my favorite -Souls game- my top 3 games "Dark Souls 3" and the controls became so laggy, you only notice that delay after playing Lies of P
that's how fluid Lies of P attack is
When Lords of the fallen came out, i just was not able to play it. Every time I started it, I thought: "Damn, lies of P is so much better". Puts me off from playing.
Between this and baldurs gate 3 we had a good year.
The gameplay and combat is good in the kies of p but its not on fromsofts level. I know theyre supposed to be puppets but the ai has a kind of clunky gimmicky feel and isnt as refined or smooth as later fromsoft work
This is a game
This might be my favorite souls game and it's not even made by fromsoftware.
Lies is way better than all games
I played thru the game twice, and honestly the last half of the bosses were not fun to learn imo, especially in NG+. You honestly can't tell me nameless puppets 2nd phase was "fair".
And new players, no boss in Lies has "3 or 4 phases".
As hard as the nameless puppet was, and it was hard, I still stand by my statement. Amd the puppet king has four phases. In the first form his second phase starts when he starts swinging his arms like crazy. And the puppet king and puppet king Romeo are not considered two separate bosses. Fallen arch bishop has 3 phases. The second begins after his body pops out and the third begins when you see the larger half shoot a large beam or when it charges you three times and swings at you. Let me also clarify when I say fair, it's because there are workarounds to beating some of the hardest bosses. I'm curious, what did you go into the nameless puppet fight with? I personally switched between a maxed out puppet are and the maxed out puppet kings scythe. Not to insult, I'm just interested in your experience.
BRO I thought nameless puppets 2nd phase was totally fair and engaging.
@@endtrue3195 sure you did lmao
@@phantomalucard770 I had Dancers handle+ bone cutter for 2nd phase and used two dragons for the 1st phase. 1st phase is easy, especially after like 15 tries. It's the 2nd phase, where your stamina will drain just just perfect blocking his combos, also he will jump back half the time after doing so. I used the weapons I frelthe most comfortable with moveset wise. I'm mainly talking about NG+ btw, as basically anyone can beat him in NG.
Also I'd love to see video footage of those who claim to enjoy his 2nd phase in NG+.
@blrolz3544 the second phase is definitely no joke. I can agree there. I think I got lucky twice with the perfect guard for his thrust attack. And trying to dodge when it powers its sword up and it extends to what seems like most of the arena. It also didn't help that i used a heavy weapon such as the puppet arm ax, because that weapon is ultra slow but for me it did the most damage. So i had to switch to lighter weapons. I enjoyed it though, because it's another challenge to overcome. That and I'm just weird and I like getting frustrated at these kinds of boss fights. That and I had just come down from my armored core rush when I played this game. I can respect the fact that you didn't think it was fair and I do have another video coming out on the bosses. Like I said I expected to disagree and I think that's okay. This just shows that you engaged with the game differently than I did. I hope you enjoyed the game though and if not then at least you beat it to say other wise.
This games is hands down far superior to lords of the fallen.........
not really and not far superior...I played both
@@CyberPrimal LoP is arguably superiour to Souls games for a lot of people, and you even say that the underdeveloped Lords of the Fallen is not worse? lol
@@lepersonnage371 I didnt say its not worse its just not far superior. Thats a difference. Lies of P is tedious in many moments. Fightning one monster over and over , bcs it has lots of HP isnt cool idea. Weapons got bad range imo. Even big weapons push you to play almost "balls to balls" if you know what I mean. Weapon damage is bad. Same problem as in Lotf - no matter what enemy ... you must poke him at least twice to kill until you go full glass canon. Git gud is for people that enjoy overall mechanics in game. I dont wanna move far away from checkpoint and then die bcs some bullshit awaits me. Some weapons are terribly slow comparing how fast monsters are. There is no reward for playing slow slam weapon(beside of pain and playing block game instead of slaming shiet). Furthermore you are most of the time forced to play block game as dodge in this game is bad. Ive finnished lotf almost three times and in lies of P I am struggling to finnish the game(yeah game is not for me I know I know). Game is good souls like, however pushing player to play longer bcs he cannot one shot small enemies is sad. Also mechanical arms are pretty bad. And you get constantly staggered. I cannot go full trade if I want cuz I get interruped which is also bad. I am waiting for 5 phases bosses as it seems to be very cool idea. Also consumables are kinda crap. You need lots of them if you want to kill something from distance. Game should give me choices instead of forcing me to get back somewhere after some time.
