      How does the HEK1000se compare ????
      Susvara??

    • @bobe2933
      @bobe2933 Před 5 měsíci +1

      plenty of reviews online about it, more upfront mids out of the box, slightly more impact, and more slightly more sub-bass, in the Susvara. The way my HE1000se's sounded out of the box = trash without eq and thin amd the highs overblown on some music, but I use a RME ADI-2 Pro, so I was told that it is due to the potential neutrality of that amp. I wouldn't say I am lacking power on the high power mode, but maybe there are better amps out there for the HE1000se, with a emphasis on the lower frequencies. It is good that I can eq from a flat bass though, so I am not complaining about that! Once I did some eq for 50+ hours I figured out a good profile that works well with most music and makes a fun and engaging sound. Excited to see what changes come in the future. The place where the HE1000se does insanely well is detail. It is too much detail lol. Crazy to say that, but you have to get used to it@@jack4321able

    Great video my man. As a nano owner, I completely agree with your description of that headphone. Though would like to emphasise the amount of slam it has for a hifiman. How they manage to have quality slam, resolving mids and airy highs that don't bleed into each other is nothing but amazing. Makes my ananda stealth sound boringly neutral and my XS underachieving. Watching your video assures me I've picked the right hifiman for me. Keep up the good work bro.

    • @Crisheight
      @Crisheight Před 4 měsíci +1

      @@CrackaSlapYa These are really good in a lot of ways, but I do think the 660S have better vocal timbre (although many would say this is the only thing going for them lol).
      Overall I still kept the Nano and sent back 660s. They are better with everything else and still have excellent imaging (some headphones have big soundstaging but not precise imaging, even 560S sometimes the clarity of where something was far out was not as good as 660s in valorant - the nano does both).
      Objectively better, just funny how different headphones have strengths. I will say the Nano's EQ really well, both 560s and 660s EQ to low/normal levels but fall apart if you push them. I also found the Nano to be more comfortable as they have deep earcups, and the clamp force is still less than 660s (the tip of my ears touched those drivers).

    • @CrackaSlapYa
      @CrackaSlapYa Před 4 měsíci +1

      yeah, man, Sennies do have great vocal timbre but i felt a bit claustrophobic wearing those- i need a wider soundstage. I do love my HE1000 Hifimans, they are a great all arounder. But, I don't think I'm finished that elusive hunt for a set of cans to rule them all. I think the Modhouse Tungsten may be that for me, although even ordering one of those is like winning the lottery right now. @@Crisheight

  • @raspucin70

    You are 100% correct about using the correct headphones for certain music. I was fairly disappointed when I got my HK 1000V2. It didn't perform much better/nicer/insert description than most of my mid-fi stable (HD650 included). The problem is, I was listening to stuff that HK isn't best to represent its qualities: If you use them to listen to Metallica or similar stuff, you will be disappointed. It will perform well, but nothing special, especially for the price. I was contemplating returning them. But then I used to listen to some live vocal covers and oh dear God did I had an epiphany. The nuances were incredible, intoxicating is the word that I would use to describe it. Yeah, one song was enough for me to change my mind about returning them ;)

    As an HE1000s owner who listens to a lot of genres i never feel it lacking in anything. Especially if i WANT more slam I just eq and it can handle EQ like a champ. Rock and metal sound GREAT , but, I am picky about source and just don't listen to bad recordings or crappy masters. You are right that a bad recording sounds awful. I love the soundstage and the resolution and imaging and the micro details. Bands from Pink Floyd to 311 to Tool to Juice WRLD all sound insane to my ears. It's crazy good for gaming, too.

    Recently traded in the Arya V2 (I've not heard the Organic) for the HE1000 Stealth. It's great that they offer this, btw. The trade-in prices are very reasonable. The HEK is more detailed (for better or worse), better bass, and the construction/comfort is a step up. The HE headband design is my favorite. I also tried the Harman curve EQ, but ultimately went back to stock with just some slight bass boost. As you said, I've never found the Hifimans to sound "bright" in the usual sense, despite the frequency measurements. It is not harsh like the HD800 or Beyerdynamics.

    And this is the headphone's video review of the year. At least in my opinion . I own Arya Organic, I have owned Sus and HEKSE , and I have listen Ananda Nano . I wish for HE1000 Stealth . You pointed so well the thing about pairing and sense of brightness, of hifiman hps. Also, the vocal aspect, is pinpoint . I would call it, the brightness of hifiman, just natural sound . I am listening now Arya Organic, through Mac mini, to Matrix SPDIF2(optical or IIS), to Matrix Element X2, and the experience is that I found the holographic sound of Audeze hps, and the dynamic sound of Focal, with a bigger stage and more precise(realistic) imaging . I think this is Arya Organic . ( yes I know, I have a problem with the definition of ,,holographic sound", which I think is about imaging AND stage, in the sense that a hp needs a good amount of stage, to express the good imaging and become holographic sounding )

    I agree with your thoughts about the Nano pretty much fully. It punches and slams very hard. It also has a very distinct and centered representation to notes, in which it well beats even the Arya Stealth imo. I've been considering upgrading down the line to the HE1000V3/Stealth, partially because I am big on air (airhead lol). Do you think I'd be losing anything going to that from the Nano?

      @Lost1ntheSauc3 Před 5 měsíci +3

      @@Lost1ntheSauc3he1000 v3 or stealth is on another level to nano. Nano is like a toy, compared. Not natural sound, bight , not musical and not technical in the same league compared to he 1000. If not comparing it is ok but better not compare you will be disappointed with nano as i was. With v3 he1000 i felt emotions listening , with nano just sound. But it is high end. Compared to mid fi. So it is not comparable

I came close to buying Hifiman given the technical reviews, but went Sennheiser HD660S2 to be confident in build quality. Thoughts?

      I have the HEKV2 Stealth and the Atrium. It’s not even close. IMO the bass on the HEKV2 Stealth is very weak. Of all the headphones I own it has the weakest bass. AirPods 2 has more bass than them. The Atrium has great bass, definitely on the almost boosted bass side depending on which pads you use.

    • @chrisasmith75
      @chrisasmith75 Před 2 měsíci +2

      I have both. Very different beasts. Focal Clear is punchier and warmer but has a slight metillic timbre. Ananda Nano is much bigger sounding with hyped treble and crazy seperation but can sound thin or harsh with some music. They're both detailed but give you the details in a different manner. The clears give you so much texture with accoustics like drums and hall size ect, you can hear singers take breaths. The nano has hyper detail with stringed instruments and high hats. I've owned the clears for a year and nano for 2 weeks.

    Driver variance must be insane with Hifiman as I just came from another youtube video that was saying the complete opposite, that Arya Organic is brighter than HE1000 Stealth, and also wider in stage.

  • @SupplyNinja
    @SupplyNinja Před 3 měsíci

    I owned both the Hifiman HEKSE and HEKStealth. Stealth has better tuning... by far. I'd go as far as saying it has tuning perfected. SE has better resolution and clarity... by far. No other headphone can do what it does. SE takes EQ so incredibly well that I was able to basically recreate the Stealth tuning and save it as an EQ template on my Macbook Pro. (Created one for the Ananda Stealth as well, which I also own and love the tuning of.) But here is where the magic happened: I was then getting the tuning of the Stealth with the clarity and resolution of the SE. And honestly, I now have a headphone that is better than both out of the box. So I returned the Stealth and kept the SE. And really, there is no reason for me to ever buy another headphone again unless some new crazy tech comes out one day.

    Appreciate the review. I was so hyped to demo the Organic. My electronic music sounded great, great soundstage, everything was fine. The problem was when I got into my play list with nylon and steel string guitars and acoustic instruments. Everything sounded overly metallic and bright. Could have been a pairing issue, as you mentioned, but I am not sure. I've played flamenco and jazz guitar for a long time, so I know what those instruments are supposed to sound like; was really disappointed. Ah well, I will try the stealth and nano next and see how it goes. Thanks for your thoughts~

      @@soraflame66 All I can say is I really wanted a HIFIMAN headphone from their flagship range as well, but now I am not sure. If you only listen to EDM, you are probably fine. But other cheaper headphones might do it better if they have a bass boost. As far as I know the Organic is less bright compared to other high end HIFIMAN offerings, which scares me because I found the timbre of the Organic way off for acoustic music. Personally, my EDM sounds best on my Celestee, but I EQ the bass up a bit, and with my Ultrasone cans which have insane physical bass. The Signature X on drop is really cheap, might be worth a try as a closed back for bass.
